I'm 67 and have heard a lot of drummers, IMHO Akane Hirose is the GOAT. Kanami, the lead guitar player, also composes most if not all of their music, she is known as "the little genius" for a reason.
The more you hear the more you'll love this band. Also crazy good songwriters and the vocalist is fantastic. Most of all, they make your face hurt from grinning😁
Thank you for your reaction to BM! The band who got me listening to music again. They evoke a feeling of nostalgia but at the same time refreshing. I love most all of their songs but the one I've been watching and listening to multiple times is their live performance at Lollapalooza of HATE?. There is a call & response between the lead guitarist Kanami and bassist Misa with Akane on drums providing support that I can't get enough of. It maybe difficult to find the beginning to HATE? because it segways in from the previous song DICE via Akane drum solo. Their music just makes me happy that I've found the joy in music again!
Oh man, probably my favourite band of the last 20 years. As you might remember, I'm a huge NW stan but I've always been a rock guy more than a metal guy and this band is what I've been missing my entire adult life tbh. As satisfying a rabbit hole as any band out there, NW included. God-tier group of musicians and a lovely group of ladies.
In the world of melodic hard rock, BAND-MAID is a tour de force! Wait til you check out the lead singer! I would also argue that the rhythm section in this band is one of the best in the business. These ladies have so many awesome songs - you won't believe it. 🔥🔥🔥
Well I for one am very, very happy you reacted to this band!!!!! My first time hearing this band and man it to me back to my eighties metal days and made me happy and excited to hear metal again!!!!!!!! It was speed metal or deep screams drowning out the music it was just goo well structured and very well played heavy metal music that I love and have missed for so long, I'm an instant fan!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome aboard, Jeff. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 180 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (125 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: ua-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/v-deo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ua-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/v-deo.html) And many songs are represented with 50 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts: ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” ua-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/v-deo.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” ua-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/v-deo.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” ua-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/v-deo.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. “P and D⁴” 30+ Photo Collage videos at www.youtube.com/@PinD2/videos And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue: Shot by Pat McKee from their 2023 US tour concert in Detroit: ua-cam.com/video/DgxU-MVjta0/v-deo.html See the Maids 2023 Rockville Festival’s short-set perfection performance: ua-cam.com/video/vjZkNeoGmhc/v-deo.html If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 29 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 31 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 31 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 32 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 30 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. [BAND-MAID NEWS] BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the Acoustic Christmas 2021, ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Those concerts are two of the best produced & performed concerts ever recorded, IMO. bandmaidprime.tokyo The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour just wrapped up and was a fantastic success. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! In addition, their Japan tour is starting back up with 13 concerts, AND they’re writing and recording for their new album. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concludes at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023! The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids, and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE!
Band-Maid is just fantastic at everything they do, check out their latest release "Shambles MV"! Anything you pick will be awesome, no joke. Enjoy the ride, I look forward to more Band-Maid reactions!
I don't know What else to say about Band Maid that others will say on here. This Band is One of the Greatest Bands I've heard in my 63 years here on earth. They are Phenomenal live. Each Band Maid Member is So Phenomenal in her own right. All I can say is the more you listen to band Maid the more you'll love what they are capable of playing
React to everything everybody has already suggested and then everything everybody suggests after this comment. It's all amazing. I'll throw in a song I haven't seen mentioned yet though, "Blooming" cuz it's amazing too. Thanks for checking into The Maids! I have a feeling you're gonna really enjoy the crazy, unbelievable ride. 🕊
I've been a rock fan for 30+ years. Everything Band Maid has done in the last 7-8 years has been all their own; there is no other writer or producer making them do what they do-they are organic. Their music goes back to the basics of rock and roll which is something missing in the last 20 years or so; no autotune, no turntables, no 808 just guitars, bass, drums, and voice. In my opinion the rock genre has been blessed with this band.
Best New Band I’ve heard in their genre. They bond creatively married to their gear.Playing. with such intensity suggests a feel for mastery This ability enables the audience to receive the attention it deserves. Thank you for this Showcase.
Just saw these guys a few days ago in Sacramento. It was my fourth time seeing what many consider the best hard rock band of this millennium. You can basically break this band's ten year history into two basic parts. When they began they had everything written for them. They have only done one cover in their 140 or so songs. With the release of Alone we have their first self written, arranged and produced track. And it has been that way ever since. There is no Rick Rubens producer in the background. MISA and Kanami who writes the music with help from her band mates both are trained in recording music and know their way around a soundboard. The rhythm guitarist is the lyricist. While Alone was their first all them tune it is Glory that, for me, marked the beginning of the Band-Maid we know today. They did a twenty song set on August 14th and climaxed the show with the very first public performance of Shambles which had just been released on August 4th. Wait til you get a load of their vocalist Saiki (psy kee). You are in for a treat.
Thank you Robert, my Sacramento uber Maidiac friend. He's a good reactor isn't he. Cool insights & he didn't mention "Like & Subscribe" once. So i took the only course of action left open to me....& subscribed.😁
@@GaryHolloway-810 Definitely one of the better ones. I don't mind criticism when it is based on something more than just personal preference. And that is not the case here. I like people who can think. All the very best my friend and fellow Maidiac.
@@MusicMike747 Yup. I said literally for years on social media Sacramento loves Band-Maid. Now that love is returned. I also noted that the last three shows Sacramento, Anaheim and D.F had audience response that was raucous and oh so fitting for a band of this magnitude. Regards.
My suggestion for the next Band-Maid reaction is the song "Hate?". Ohrenje just recently released his awsome edited version of it. Do his version please, it's fantastic and it's Live!
I enjoyed your analysis! The next one I recommend is Puzzle(Offcial live MV)!!! This song, which is extremely popular among fans, will never let you down.
Hello......I just got back from seeing BM in Anaheim on 8/15. This band absolutely blew the roof off The House Of Blues.....there is not a another band out there that can match the energy of their live shows. The musicianship is really apparent when you can focus on them live. OK.....you just heard their best instrumental......but you have to see a live performance....Real Existence is my fav and everyone will recommend Domination....Play is another great song.....they really don't have a bad song....but....watch the live videos...its a must.
Band-Maid had just done their US and Mexico tour. I can tell you that these ladies have shown the world that a band of females can be badass rockers! Remember this band is from Japan where almost all industries in the country are dominated by male. What an inspiration for the ladies out there!
I see that others have suggested you watch the double video of Manners and Blackhole and I agree ! The bass tone in Manners will knock you off your feet and then the slapping in Black Hole will amaze you. Akane the drummer had to push herself to the limit for Black Hole at 220 bmp. It will also show you the diversity of Band Maid. They are truly the best. Enjoy !
I saw them twice this summer. Up close, you can appreciate the detail of their costumes and you can tell that they carefully chose the fabric for its paisley or floral white on white or black on black texture with a hint of glitter to it. The videos don't do justice to their costumes; they look spectacular under the stage lights. But who am I kidding? With the music Band-Maid writes and performs, they could be wearing potato sacks and still be amazing. I particularly like their live video of "Puzzle" from last February's Tokyo Garden Theater concert.
Best rock band on the planet. Do HATE live from Lalapalooza, there's a throw down between Misa (bass) and Kanami (lead gtr.). I guarantee it will blow your socks off because you'll find out how good Misa really is too. She can also play finger style and slap and pop.
You should check out Manners, Black Hole Official Live Video. it has two short songs that are completely different and also different from the number you just reacted to. Both highlight the complex vocal arrangements, and in Black Hole, how the vocals work with crazy, complex instrumental arrangements. They also show you what these girls can do live. I saw them in May in Austin and they were amazing; 24 complex arrangements and they only got close to shaky in one transition in one song.. Live in a room you really see and hear how strong the lead vocal and lead guitar are throughout an intense, 2 hour show.
Not sure what your last BM video was (the one that go blocked), but check out Domination (official live vid) next. That will give you a general overview of what their sound is about. From there you can go into many different directions as their discography is very diverse. The song "Shambles" is their most recent and only released a couple of weeks ago.
If you like this instrumental, be sure to listen to Onset and Without Holding Back. Their vocalists are of course great, but the BAND-MAID instrumental shows the individuality of the performers very much. All of them have very unique performance techniques, which is really rare.
Welcome to the fandom! Best rock band in the world right now! ♥ 'oh that was cool' - 2 things Band Maid never lacks: coolness & cuteness 😎 I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, Blooming & Puzzle BTW - The Warning & Band Maid are big fans of each other. There's even a video of their 1st meeting at Aftershock
A few facts: They can play this live with no problem. They also write their own music and lyrics on their newer albums. Miku, the girl with a red rose, was the original lead singer but voluntarily gave her spot to bring in a girl with a more powerful voice. Kanami, the lead guitarist, then taught Miku to play guitar. My suggestion is Manners/Black Hole (live).
Their latest single, SHAMBLES, takes this sound and adds the sweet vocals at SAIKI and KOBATO. Quite amazing. ENDLESS STORY is an wonderful Pop song that’s in heavy rotation in my house these days. The feel is different, but many of the same guitar and bass elements are there. BTW, MISA now plays Aguilar amps.
Just saw them during the back end of their US tour last week (Sac/HoB Anaheim) and they played this live without haste. Saw them debut this song live last year at Aftershock Sac (Their first go outside of Japan since the C19 thing), where they were just warming up and nervous to going live again. Now, this song is very tight and they make it look easy. They just debut "Shambles" live at the Sac show, then played it at HoB and CDMX (Mexico City) before returning home, arriving today, 8/20/2023. Great reaction, Po! Welcome and down the Pigeon hole we go. 🦍🍌
Thanks for the excellent insight into From Now On! While I wouldn't go so far as to say Band-Maid is a musician's band, it seems like musicians are the first reactors to see all the work that goes into their compositions. Kanami (lead guitarist and primary composer) is classically trained and has an incredible grasp of song structure, riffs, harmonies, etc. MISA (bass) and Akane (drums) are both trained music school grads who write engaging counterpoint and rhythms. Miku (rhythm guitar) writes most of the lyrics and Saiki (who you will see later) is lead vocalist, and I can tell you that you will be hard pressed to find a more expressive voice in the rock world today. I'd echo what others have said for next reactions. To get a sense of their flexibility, maybe try the two-part Manners/Black Hole; the most recent offering is Shambles; Domination is always a good starter; but almost anything you pick will be great.
Welcome (or welcome back), to Band-Maid. Congratulations on improving your life! 😂 The Maids are the whole package, like only a few others before them, even when they give our Queen, lead vocalist Saiki, a break as in this instrumental. Next? Need to see a live video: - “Puzzle” - official live video - “Domination” - official live video Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎼😀✌🏼 -
You got thrown right into the deep end on this one. LOL. Best hard rock band ever, IMO. They never cease to amaze you by their compositions and musicianship. Five Maids that can rock harder than 90% of the rock bands in the US, male or female... through all of rock history. They are that good. Now let's have Saiki grace you with her vocals next. You are about to go down a wonderful and deep Pigeonhole. ぽ
I got into BAND-MAID because of their bassist Misa but when I learned more about the group, I've learned that each member are equally awesome. Hope to see more reaction for this band on your channel Jeff. More power to you too! Road to 25k subs soon!🥳
Thanks for the great reaction Jeff! A lot of the reactors will actually pause the videos specifically to avoid getting blocked. The intro in this song is so epic, but I especially loved your reaction to the bass. It is my favorite part of the intro. Since your brought up how much you love the drummer (Akane), I checked your reactions and you haven't done " BAND-MAID / FREEDOM (Official Live Video) " ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html You REALLY need to check it out. Akane has a full 30 second, full on drum solo, my favorite drum solo on the entire planet! OK, I haven't seen them all, but it is NEXT LEVEL! It fits into the song seamlessly of course, as only BandMaid knows how to pull this off! And her smile engulfs the whole stage! Everything about the song is very cool, but the drum solo is insane! Misa (bassist) refused to wear the maid outfit, so they came up with this outfit, which is actually some form of Ninja garb, quite fitting for her, as she plays barefoot and her nickname is "The Barefoot Assassin".
I just come back to rewatch this group. They are so STUNNING as musicians 🎼 …I always become enamored with their skill level. 😮😂❤. I grew up with a family of musicians and sadly I didn’t appreciate it back then. Regrets. I love listening to instrumentalists. I don’t see any Lucas Intilismo musica “ music mash ups” for years 2018-2022 is Incredible…he’s from Brazil 🇧🇷 in your videos. You choose whatever year. He is Incredible as well. 🙋🏻♀️🎧🎼❤️🔥🙌🏽🇺🇸
Thanks for the reaction. It's nice to see one with substance from a musician. Fans are likely to pour in and recommend the official live version of Domination, which is like the standard starting recommendation, to get a sense for the band in a live setting. It's a great show, no doubt, but I think it's a little hard to hear the bass in that one. I think the official live versions of Freedom or Play are nice alternatives with crowds. Other good lives are Dice and Different (both in one video), and Manners and Black Hole (both in one video). Personally, I'd do those in that order, for more of a gradual on ramp. These don't have live audiences though, because they were played for an online concert during the pandemic. If you want something more produced, Warning, Manners and Blooming are good music video options. Looking forward to whatever you decide on next.

One of the many great things about Band-Maid is the playability, You can listen to a song over and over again and find something new. I reccommend, well the next one, they don't have any song I don't like in a different way. Some of thei best songs don't have videos BTW. I'd kill for the song Corallium. You should deffinately check out their live stuff. There's a video of their Lalapalloza show and the song Hate?. It's amazing!
Band-Maid has over 120 songs so take your pick there all great ! They really shine when performing live so i would suggest "Freedom" Live =) If you like the drummer (Akane) she really shines in this one ! Great Reaction✌🤘
Hahaha, you may see the text "BAND-AID" instead of "BAND-MAID" in one particular place (I corrected as many as I could but I'm unable to fix this last occurrence). My apologies, I was in a battle with auto-correct the whole time.
We hope (Well, I hope) you'll explore more from them, besides "shambles", cause their latest e.p is a gem, a lot more to be astonished by :-) (Influencer, Unleash maybe ?) Have a great day !
I do have a suggestion. Band Maid recently performed at Lollapalooza, in Chicago. They were the first Japanese band to play their in 13 years. UA-cam has a video, from the performance on Hulu, of the combined songs" Dice/Hate?". At the end of Dice, Akane keeps hammering the drums as an interlude into "Hate?" During "Hate?" Kanami, the lead guitarist, and Misa, the bassist, have an epic Bass/lead guitar call and respond duel. It has gone viral on the internet. It also show how well they perform before a large live audience.
Great reaction. Generally, if you react to Official Videos or Music Videos you won't get blocked. In fact the ladies themselves watch reactions to their music.
Thanks Graham. I actually dig back into my library and have it scheduled to repost on September 6th. It was over a year ago I attempt so it’s possible things were different back then.
Please pretty please watch their live video of Freedom. As someone who seems to genuinely appreciate the work Akane puts in on drums, you really gotta check that one out.
Yay... another musician falling in love with my favorite band. I'm sure you'll be overwhelmed by suggestions, so I'll just say I'm here for any Band Maid song that you do. Your analysis was interesting and thoughtful, and your production quality is on point. Well done, and I'll see you on the next one.
Thanks for checking this out. While a lot of people get swept away by the quality of Japanese guitarists, where they really seem to be on top of the world is with their drummers and bassists. And as we know, a band is only as good as the rhythm section.. Great review from an actual pro.
Just in case you don't have this info: Band Maid Is; (In order of joining band) Name/Age: Nickname: Position: Miku Kobato Small Pigeon/ Band Founder, Secondary Lead Vocalist, Rhythm Guitarist, Main Lyricist, Age: 31 Koba/Kuruppo/ Backing Vocals, Backing Tracks, Arrangements 10/21/91 Cluppo Kanami Tono Princess/ Lead Guitarist, Primary Composer, Backing Vocals, Keyboards, Backing Tracks Age: 31 Kanamincho/ Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Arrangements 9/28/91 Mincho Akane Hirose Gorilla/ Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Backing Tracks, Age: 32 Ah-Chan Arrangements 12/14/90 MISA Barefoot Assassin/ 5 String Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Backing Tracks Age: 30 MISA-MISA-MISA Arrangements 10/15/92 Saiki Atsumi Ice Queen/ Primary Lead Vocalist, Backing Vocals, Lyricist, Backing Vocals on Backing Age: 29 Sai-Chan/ Tracks, Backing tracks, Arrangements 2/8/94 Sensei (Teacher) And you shouldn't be getting any blocks on Band-Maid now. They have switched record labels, and Pony Canyon is ok with reactions that are "Real" reactions and not click bait. They will claim monetization, but they have a pretty good share program, and many reactors get 50% of the monetization back. Not ALL do however, it depends on how involved the reactor is with the material. And MISA's tone is always a work in progress. She is slightly downtuned, and she also will still use a drop pedal on occasion. Miku who plays the Zemaitis is the Second lead singer/backup singer, Kanami who plays the PRS is the main composer and backup singer, though most of her backing vocals are added to the backing track along with the other Ladies.
You're getting a lot of comments to see Manners/Black Hole (a two-fer). I also recommend Onset, Domination Live (bass solo, guitar solo, drum solo), Freedom live (long drum solo) and Play live (bass and guitar solo). Really though, Warning official music video (also a live version) really shows off Akane's double pedal work, as does Influencer....you really can't go wrong with Band-Maid.
I love Band-Maid so much. Anyway ... another all Female Band you really need to check out is Gacharic Spin , Song is Mindset . Incredible talented Ladies. And more Band-Maid of cause 🙂
🎉 Maidiacs Incoming! 🎸 Brace yourself for the ride of your life. This band is one of the most creative and talented bands in the world right now. The “chromatic” lick you caught in the beginning was inspired by “Habanera” from the opera “Carmen.” Kanami (lead guitar) is a classically trained pianist, so she approaches music from that perspective. (She also writes their backing tracks and pre-show warm up music) Akane, the drummer, is a “killer filler.” She always adds something new to each one, often using compound fills at breakneck speeds. MISA, the bassist is famous for her ability to instantly switch between pick and slap styles by cuffing her pick like a lead guitarist. If you choose to pursue more Band Maid, you’re going to discover how diverse their catalog is. Songs so unique that it’s hard to believe it’s the same band. You started off strong!! From here, I think you ought to experience how they do things live. And with their vocalist Saiki. “Play” or “Domination,” official live videos are famous gateways to the Band Maid universe. Welcome to Band Maid! 🤘🏽
What song was it? band-maid rarely get blocked - maybe sometimes if its brand new with no pauses. A few pauses is normally good enough to get any video through. p.s Bandmaid are famous for their amazing instrumentals- but ofcourse 95% of the time they have their amazing singer Saiki and Mikudoing 2nd vocals :) Hope you do some more of their stuff! They have like 120 or so songs- NONE of them bad- MOST of them great :) They formed themselves, gained their skills the hard way on loads of little gigs- decide their own look, write their own stuff (after the first 2 albums when they switched labels) and are all great to incredible musicians. Kanami is an amazing composer - and they always add loads of little embelishments and fills and riffs and stuff they dont need to- most bands would probably get 3 songs of what they use for 1! There is a reason many musicians and old rockers seem to love them :)
@@StrateleStudios yup it might work now- the only stuff ive heard get blocked much is when they have just dropped a new track- any reactions without some pausing and talking about it etc can get blocked- like it happened a bit with 'Sense' when it dropped last year. But I do think that their label has that relaxed after a couple months. But anything NOT their latest track or 2 isnt likely to ever get blocked at least as far as i heard. Except for those who try to do no pause reactions - that might- its asking for trouble with almost any labels music.
@@elevownya, looks like things have changed since I tried posting my reaction over a year ago. I was able to upload and schedule it to play without issue.
Band Maid continually proves that women can rock as hard as any males. Just to let you know, Band Maid calls their maid outfits "combat gear" because they are fighting stereotypes that females have less talent than male rockers. If you jump down this "rabbithole" that is Band Maid, you will be continually surprised and delighted by their music, especially in live concerts.
Great reaction! For more of Akane, the drummer, and MISA, the bassist you should check out their latest release 'Shambles': ua-cam.com/video/lf0mQOiu8J8/v-deo.html
Yeah, if you're not familiar with the band, you might say "they gave the bass player a spot to shine"! Being familiar with the band, I'd say it's more like MISA TOOK a spot! Because SHE CAN!

In western countries, the fans of female groups are mostly women. For asian groups, it's the opposite. The fans of female rock bands are typically male, and I've noticed the same dynamic is true for other genres too like Jpop and Kpop. I don't know why but that's the way it is.
Instrumental. Nothing else. I love it. The outfit reminds me of Baby Metal, Gimmi Chokolate, have you ever checked them out? Cute girls 😍. This was amazing., going to check them out. Hugs from Denmark
Have you listened to other albums? Almost every track on every album is crazy different (at least on their older stuff). Slow songs, fast songs, pop sounding songs, sometimes electronica sounding songs. Granted I only listened to everything once (went back and listened to every song on every album), but it's insane to think they can even be put into a genre after hearing all of that. I guess they have been leaning heavily on Hard Rock with some metal vibes even recently though. @@MusicMike747
MISA, the bassist, stands out because she just doesn't play along with lead guitar, but does her own separate lines. Often for entire songs.
I'm 67 and have heard a lot of drummers, IMHO Akane Hirose is the GOAT. Kanami, the lead guitar player, also composes most if not all of their music, she is known as "the little genius" for a reason.
I will always be grateful for my great grand daughters introducing me to Band Maid.
Good rock did not die in America, it moved to Japan.
There are 7 Descending Chromatic Progrsssions in this song, and you are one of the few reactors who mention them!
That earns you a sub.
Thanks for the sub Dean!
Band Maid does not block reactions of any official released content
Oh good! That clears the path for me. 👏👏👏
@@StrateleStudiosMore more! Mata mata!
The more you hear the more you'll love this band. Also crazy good songwriters and the vocalist is fantastic. Most of all, they make your face hurt from grinning😁
The Bassist (Misa) gets to shine in almost every Band-Maid song.
She's like a drum machine with unrivaled beat intervals.👍👍👍🥁🥁🥁😆😆😆
is FIRE🔥🔥🔥
In the world of melodic hard rock, BAND-MAID is a tour de force! Wait til you check out the lead singer! I would also argue that the rhythm section in this band is one of the best in the business. These ladies have so many awesome songs - you won't believe it. 🔥🔥🔥
I've been into rock since the 60's and they are one of the best rhythm sections heard.
@@johnwilkins538 Welcome to Band-Maid, sir. One of the best bands on the planet right now, in my opinion. Dive in. You won't be disappointed.
But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ua-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/v-deo.html)
And many songs are represented with 50 well produced music videos. ua-cam.com/users/BANDMAID
Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.

The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour just wrapped up and was a fantastic success.
It's just as great live
Band~Maid the best Rock band in the world right now!!!
Kanami🥰took the vocals in her own hands in this one.
Best New Band I’ve heard in their genre. They bond creatively married to their gear.Playing. with such intensity suggests a feel for mastery This ability enables the audience to receive the attention it deserves. Thank you
for this Showcase.
Sacramento got spoiled! Shambles, anemone full electric version, and…and…Moratorium! 😭 where’s the envy emoji?
@@MusicMike747 Haha. The haven't even got a guy stumbling accidental trip someone up on purpose emoji.🤷♂️
Regards.
Drums fills are incredible.
This song, which is extremely popular among fans, will never let you down.
damn i love this song so much
Hello......I just got back from seeing BM in Anaheim on 8/15.
Enjoy !
I'll 2nd (or probably 32nd by now) Manners live
Can you believe that they opened with THAT on the Lollapalooza stage a couple weeks ago? An instrumental. 👍
But at least everyone took them seriously afterwards!!!!!
@@zolitoth2458 it was an audacious move to say the least, but it certainly served them well.
'oh that was cool' - 2 things Band Maid never lacks: coolness & cuteness 😎
I suggest these Band Maid songs: Thrill, Dice, Manners, Bubble, Blooming & Puzzle
BTW - The Warning & Band Maid are big fans of each other.
My first time was the Echoplex, then Aftershock followed the next week at August Hall and then Ace of Spades here in Sacramento. Best regards.
Thanks, Jeff. Excellent players! I really enjoy Band-Maid, Lovebites, and Gacharic Spin; such talented high-energy bands.
Next? Need to see a live video:
- “Puzzle” - official live video
- “Domination” - official live video
Take care and rock on 🤘🏼🔥🎸🥁🎤🎼😀✌🏼
-
Another super instrumental, Without holding back.
For me..Lead guitarist Kanami Tono is most impressive musician of 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true rock n’ Roll Star 🤘🔥❤️
I got into BAND-MAID because of their bassist Misa but when I learned more about the group, I've learned that each member are equally awesome. Hope to see more reaction for this band on your channel Jeff. More power to you too! Road to 25k subs soon!🥳
Bandmaid watch reactions when they have the time and say they really like to.
The Maids have dropped several live videos from their 10th anniversary concert. They will blow you away. The Maids have gone to the next level

It was a great reaction, thank you ! We hope you give us your views on many more of their songs !
Thank you! Yes more to come!
MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin .
Check out their newest "Shambles" which was released last month.
Absolutely a band to reckon with! Killer links and drumwork!
They played this at the Portland show. Everyone loved it. Mincho slayed. Hi Po!
Amazing!
Blooming......
Please pretty please watch their live video of Freedom. As someone who seems to genuinely appreciate the work Akane puts in on drums, you really gotta check that one out.
You should next check out Misa’s bass work in “No God”. Then maybe the Lallapalooza live version of “Dice/Hate” and finish with the MV of “Shambles”.
I second this excellent suggestion
Please check out Domination live and Freedom live, which, btw, has a drum solo in it.
Yay... another musician falling in love with my favorite band. I'm sure you'll be overwhelmed by suggestions, so I'll just say I'm here for any Band Maid song that you do. Your analysis was interesting and thoughtful, and your production quality is on point. Well done, and I'll see you on the next one.
The best band in the world. Why? No one else has 100+ songs supremely composed, no clinkers, executed by the most competent, fun players.
5:01 - well said! Nice reaction.
Btw I think your tags for this video fell victim to autocorrect.
Thanks for catching that! Corrected 🫶
Thanks for checking this out. While a lot of people get swept away by the quality of Japanese guitarists, where they really seem to be on top of the world is with their drummers and bassists. And as we know, a band is only as good as the rhythm section.. Great review from an actual pro.

And you shouldn't be getting any blocks on Band-Maid now.
Really though, Warning official music video (also a live version) really shows off Akane's double pedal work, as does Influencer....you really can't go wrong with Band-Maid.
more more pls of band maid
(She also writes their backing tracks and pre-show warm up music)
Akane, the drummer, is a “killer filler.” She always adds something new to each one, often using compound fills at breakneck speeds.
It’s possible that they changed their policy after I did my reaction. It was over a years ago I think.
I should try and rerelease it!
😁
welcome to the 'pigeon' hole.
Secret my lips
Next react to their old song Shake That and new song Shambles....... 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Welcome (back)!

Your soul will sing in unison!
A few days ago Diana Ankudinova released an amazing , very beautiful new song - The Day You...
New vocal level!
Welcome to the pigeon hole.
In western countries, the fans of female groups are mostly women. For asian groups, it's the opposite. The fans of female rock bands are typically male, and I've noticed the same dynamic is true for other genres too like Jpop and Kpop. I don't know why but that's the way it is.
Band Maid doing Band Maid things...
Instrumental. Nothing else. I love it. The outfit reminds me of Baby Metal, Gimmi Chokolate, have you ever checked them out? Cute girls 😍. This was amazing., going to check them out. Hugs from Denmark
Do you actually know what genre this is? Because I don't and I've been listening to them for a little while now lol
I lean on “hard rock fusion,” and I’m looking for something better
Have you listened to other albums? Almost every track on every album is crazy different (at least on their older stuff).
Slow songs, fast songs, pop sounding songs, sometimes electronica sounding songs.
Granted I only listened to everything once (went back and listened to every song on every album), but it's insane to think they can even be put into a genre after hearing all of that.
I guess they have been leaning heavily on Hard Rock with some metal vibes even recently though.

Dice. Rinne. Warning. The list is long.
Just pick one of their songs. There's not one track that isn't great.
