no. youre using the wrong bit and youre drilling too fast. use cobalt tip bits millwuake are the best and go slow like a drill press with steady pressure. have someone spray oil on it while you drill or if youre alone drill a little then spray then drill more then spray
most drills have an adjustable clutch and u can set it to the proper resistance for your application. i dont think leaving the chuck lose to slip is good advice
If you watch the longer video with more context you’ll see I’m drilling into a Phillips head bolt. And it catches a lot. I started doing this so I don’t break so many bits.
Don’t hold it down like it’s life or death and you won’t need to worry about it

I’ll look for some cobalt tip bits next time I’m at the store. I seem to be drilling bolts more and more lately
