Thanks a ton, Julius! You really saved me from the mind-boggling struggles of GA4 data visualization across multiple properties. Looking forward to your next video!
Very helpful! I was looking for a quick guide because the client wants to move from Looker to Looker Studio, I can see why, it is indeed simpler. Thanks!
Would love to know what you think about the GA4 Connector now being subject to Google Analytics API quotas. At this time you cant use the GA4 connector for the Demo account due to "Exhausted concurrent request quota". Quotas get reached pretty quickly on your own GA4 properties if your LS report page has 10 or more charts on it. Do you think they will backtrack on this or at least become a bit more generous with the quotas?
It's hell. I've been using Data Studio for a few years now, it's great for making data more intelligible to customers or top management. And being able to make the reports interactive with control panels is a real plus, everyone can refine the data according to their criteria, it's almost fun. As for me, I have adopted Data Studio as my main exploration tool in my daily SEO work. I find it more permissive than GA4's exploration reports on many points (I admit I still need to learn a bit about Exploration Reports tho, I quickly gave up). But now... Since the introduction of quotas, I can barely view a few pages before the limit is reached. And I can't use it for reporting to clients and N+X anymore because the document breaks super fast. It's like Google saying "Hey, you can use Looker to visualize the data... but not too much". What a waste.
@@MrSebordel I use Data Studio much in the same way. Exploration reports can be useful for adhoc analysis. But they are not very good at looking at data in relation to other data. I get the feeling that this is a step to commercialise Looker Studio. I wouldnt be suprised if sometime soon we hear Google say "Get a quota free GA4 connector with Looker Studio Pro" I think its also part of the push to get people to use GCP and BigQuery. Guess we just have to wait and see how this plays out.
I greatly dislike both the GA4 API quotas and the 'Looker' name - internally we have started calling it 'Hooker Studio'..I doubt GA4 will backtrack but maybe they will increase the quota limits.
Yep, guys. We also met this quotas limits several days ago. Very annoying. And till now there is no answer from Google what should we do. Some tell to use Extract data - I have tried that method but it also does not work , lol
Google silently increased the Quotas twice, so now they are about 11 times what they were in November. Also Looker studio now reports on quota token usage - just edit your report and right-click to see.
Thank you for the tutorial, how does Looker Studio compute for the increase or decrease compared to the previous period? And what does that exactly mean?
Thank you Julius for this content! Your videos are really helping ☀️ I’m having difficulty with the calculated metrics, could you make a video in which you explain in detail how to write the functions? Greetings from Italy 🌈
Hi. thanks for this content! Any idea how to find/compute the session duration, or the average pages viewed per session metrics, in a default channels table, for example, from GA4?
Great video and your videos have been very helpful in my GTM, GA upskilling. One thing, I want to create a MAX value metric in a report for a GA custom metric from an event parameter. Only the count and avg automatic metrics are auto created for an custom metric, and it says you cant perform a MAX() function on a custom metric (auto genderanted) - 're-aggregating metrics is not supported'. Do you know how to get a MAX value reprensentation for a GA custom metric? Thoughts anyone else?
Hello, and thank you for your video. I'm having difficulty in reproducing a very simple table in looker studio I had built in ga3, using ga4 as data source and indicating: Google ads campaign, Google ads group, revenue, cost, leads (event), quotes(event), transactions, CPA, Roas. Google looker studio doesn't seem to recognise the metrics (or count them correctly) even if you transform events in custom metrics or dimensions. Another problem is that ga4 doesn't seem to import past data ( unless you have analytics 360). I was wondering if you could make a video explaining how to solve these problems. Thank you and kind regards
Great video as always (longtime viewer, first-time commenter). Question for you re: the Data control drop down and custom events/dimensions. I find that despite my custom events and custom dimensions being named the same across all properties, I'm unable to add any kind of chart that consistently references these data. When I switch between properties, the data jumps around. I assume this is because Looker doesn't identify them by name - perhaps an ID under the hood. Have you experienced this as well? Or, perhaps I missed something in my GA4 or Looker setup. Thank you again for the great content.
Thank you for the video. My data seems to be coming exclusively from the traffic acquisition report. I'm trying to build a report based off of data from the user analytics report in GA4. Any idea how to filter this information properly in looker?
I am in the process of converting a report from Universal Analytics to GA4. Most of the metrics and measurements can be quickly and easily converted or displayed through individual filter options. However, I am reaching my limits with the "Entries" metric. For UA data sources, a predefined measurement value "Entries" already exists in Looker Studio. For the GA4 data source, however, it does not. In GA4, the entries can only be evaluated via exploratory data analysis, which is relatively simple to set up. However, I have not yet found a way to display the entries in Looker Studio as well. Do you have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

We use segments extensively in our Universal Analytics reports but I cannot find a similar feature to use in Data Studio. We are attempting to segment sessions showing shopping type behaviors vs sessions that are accessing content they have already purchased.

Hi Julius, I have a question about connecting Facebook Ads to Looker Studio. I am trying to import custom events data but I get a message that metrics are DEPRECATED (Results and Cost of Results in particular). How can I fix it? Thank you.
Does it provide the real time data like Google analytics. I have made the same dashboard using google analytics as a connector, and added multiple chart but somehow I am unable to get the real time data like Google analytics for current time like 30mins before and its showing only the time frame prior one day.
Hello . One of my vendors wants to share with him the sales and other data of 3 specific brands of my ecommerce website. How can I configure looker to send data of specific products (or brands) of my GA4? to him? Thanks in advance of any help
I would like to be present at the meeting, when they came up with "Looker Studio" as a name... Must have powdered their noses pretty nice for that one.

No
How to you add a scorecard to show the percentage of users that came from Ads?
Does anyone know how to integrate custom conversions from GA4 into Looker studio? I get an error then
How to add top pages section?
But apparently there is no Excel connector?
Just import data with csv files

Use report layout settings support.google.com/looker-studio/answer/7355651?hl=en#canvas-size&zippy=%2Cin-this-article
Next refresh... and then get a GA4 API Quota error... fantastic...
google implemented quota system to ga4 in lookout studio so you have a limit to pull data each session
where is real time ??? how to add
