It's not the fastest around the block, but it definitely gets the job done. It would probably be way better if the cooling system was actually designed for such an intense processor (at the time).
A set of testers like these would also be useful for seeing what other components got taken out when my SSD went bang, because for now I consider everything connected to that system tainted and won't connect them to good components.

Service, diagnostic, rebuild, repair, replace brings me joy. Well done this graced my eyes and I will look into this further, hopefully like cars I can buy a full kit to cover every socket, as my automotive tools cover every car.
I work as mb repair tech, and i used that from lga 775 up to the latest new lga. The purpose is for check either the lga is connected right, and avoid over voltage that will kill cpu.
Computer game missions and secret missions permanently switch on additional boost for the cpu, and video card. Very handy for laptops, you won’t get extra heat, the performance will be much greater. It’s a secret, and easy.
I have built multiple PCs in my life and I've never felt the need to have to do preliminary testing on components before the initial install. This just seems like a completely wild purchase to make unless you are having an issue that would lead you wanting it.
In 27 years of IT, I've never once had an issue with a processor socket. Motherboards yes, but nothing having to do with the communication with the processor. I've also only ever seen MAYBE 1 bad processor. I've worked on tens of thousands of machines and I've only encountered 4 bad memory sticks. Hundreds of bad power supplies and motherboards though.
Imagine doing all that testing just to put the cpu in and have the pins bend it’s almost like you could just put the cpu in anyway and either have that happen off the bat or have it work and see if everything is running while also having the cpu in saving time

Honestly, this is way better on the nerves than saying "CPUs don't normally fail, this it's probably a bad motherboard". I was right, the CPU was fine and the new motherboard got everything working, but having a tester would help ease my nerves on making purchases.
Why? You'd rather have it trying to pull power from a CPU socket that won't "fully cooperate"? The battery runs the board and the cpu pins are just inputs to a bunch of voltage sensor circuits. You don't worry about there being a battery in a fluke, or an ammeter, do you?
Yeah that will never work properly. It doesn't have any way to generate the comms for the SVI2 or SVI3 bus. And I doubt it can even supply the basic PMBus because there is no micro.
Testing every component would be very tedious & a waste of money & hardware when you're not building or troubleshooting a PC. One multimeter can do all this testing if you knew what you were doing with it.
