Honorable mention: Owen Hart vs. DX Owen wanted payback on DX after the events of the Montreal Screwjob, but he never got his revenge & would later turn heel on Ken Shamrock to join the Nation Of Domination. (of all groups)
Classic DX in Vince's ear. Owen was red hot in December of 97 and Mania 14 main event probably should've been him vs Shawn instead of Austin which is crazy to think about
Nexus and Invasion were at the top of my list, but surprised not to see the Straight Edge Society. Punk was doing great work and remember, he got voted in as a heel to face Cena the night of the Nexus attack over faces. Then Serena got fired, the Big Show squashed them and Punk went to commentary. Bigger things were ahead for Punk, but they deserved a longer run.
I don’t think kane’s feud with Shane derailed his momentum , it made sense kane attacked his mother , him not winning the title at Armageddon stopped it in my opinion
Cena is the one who pushed for that Nexus burial finish…Jericho and Edge tried to talk some sense into him to no avail. He later admitted to them that he was wrong, it was the wrong finish.
Tbh, hoping that the Nexus would succeed under 2010 Vince is thinking that a tree will start swimming with it's branches in lava. And I think Nexus was supposed to lose anyway; Cena simply changed the finish.
Hulk Hogan vs Randy Orton from 2006 had potential, but I remember their lack of screen time together being a bit of a buzzkill and in the end their feud just came and went, when it could've really been one of Randy Orton's best feuds as the legend killer. He definitely had better feuds with Mick Foley and The Undertaker.
At the end of the day, the only thing that bothers me a lot about Orton-Fiend 2021-2022 feud is that Bliss betrayed Fiend then Orton won the match at WM for absolutely no reason😃The rivalry is pretty solid tbh, but hampered by bad ending (similar to their feud in 2016-2017)
I mean in retrospect Orton winning the match I have no issue with my issue was why did it need to involve Alexa turning heel and surely after being the unkillable fiend why was he put in a tag team instead of being the number one contender
@@josiahboatengmyrie I agree, we didn't have a chance to see the payoff of Bliss' betrayal (why the heck she did that?), meanwhile Orton became a tag team man made zero sense to me 😂 at least RK-Bro was entertaining
I couldnt be paid to care about any storyline involving a character that basically amounts to "gay mr rogers knockoff that occasionally wears an ugly mask." The shit was NOT over. Sorry, kiddos.
I mean at least Kane had a pretty lengthy World title run in 2010 and even beat the Undertaker 3 times in a row! I know that feud isn't universally loved but I personally enjoyed it and I was definitely invested in it
Reinvigorated Psycho Kane should've received a second one-on-one world heavyweight title match against Triple H. Kane wins, avenging his Mask vs Title loss to Triple H in June 2003 on Raw, the Katie Vick storyline(the insanity of that storyline speaks for itself) & the Championship Unification Match loss to Triple H at the 2002 No Mercy PPV(Kane's Intercontinental Title vs Triple H's World Heavyweight Title), which would've put Kane back into the main event spotlight. Instead, Kane wouldn't touch another WWE world title since King Of The Ring 1998 until the first Money In The Bank PPV in 2010, winning the match's briefcase & cashing in on then world champion Rey Mysterio on the same night to win the title, turning heel once again at Rey Mysterio's expense, like he did in Summer 2008 & had an astronomically better & longer title reign than his pathetic 24 hour sole WWE Championship reign.
The group Retribution definitely lives up to this topic. They were given a lot of attention at first with their invasions and then they became less important over time, the more they went vocal. They were very amateurish, and Mustafa Ali wasn't a convincing heel.
The fiend character was already on a downward spiral since losing to bill goldberg maybe he shouldn’t have been put over then at least randy is a full time wrestler that has done way more than anyone has for the company
Heyman himself that the real reason why Cesaro as a Heyman guy didn't work was because of how the fans dissaproval of Lesner ending Taker's Wrestlemania streak bleed out into not liking Cesaro.
The Nexus were such a wasted opportunity 😑 I once had a nightmare about being a contestant on competition era NXT. To this day, it still seems so mortifying to me.
Fun Fact: Cesaro might have possibly have a program with Brock Lesnar at some point, but it didn't happen tho. But can you imagine the two strongest stars at that time meeting in the same ring?!
Cesaro faced John Cena at that time. However, Cesaro facing Brock Lesnar? Talk about two big, strong, hard hitting dudes battling each other. Sign me up to watch that.
It always did bug me that they pretty much never had Bray win over Orton clean. Like that House of Horrors match that was going wonderfully until Jinder Mahal showed up 😕
I think if they had just let Cesaro be his own man & slowly built him up as a babyface, I have no doubt that he would've gotten over super quickly & MAYBE he'd be the one to challenge Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.
Randy running from Ebolution wasn't a dumb move. It was 3 on 1 in essence and the three happen to be 3 of the best in the business. 2 of which were hall of famers
WWE should've done the same thing with Randy Orton & "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt's feud that they did with John Cena vs The Fiend's feud. Randy Orton beat Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania 33 for the WWE title. Then, at Wrestlemania 37, Randy Orton faces Bray's alter ego, The Fiend & defeat Randy, gaining revenge over The Viper for what he's done to Bray in 2017, just like The Fiend defeated John Cena the previous year at Wrestlemania 36 in the Firefly Fun House Match, gaining revenge for Bray's loss to Cena at Wrestlemania 30 6 years prior.
Actually CENA changed the ending of the match with Nexus. Do they even research these matches? I mean it’s not like they didn’t have interviews with Jericho, Wade, and Cena talking about it. The first two mad that Cena pulled the Hogan card saying “fans need to leave happy” and Cena admitting he was wrong to get the match changed so HE goes over. Pretty sure the match was supposed to be Cena and Wade are the last two and Wade wins.

The Higher Power had a ton of potential and could've been revealed to be anybody. But it fell apart after the reveal turned out to be Vince. And all to just prove a point to Austin??? Flat & weak climax.
