Not right. It's the opposite. He says he starts with it open but closes it as he hits it (causing that draw spin). When it's closed, he opens it as he hits (giving the fade spin). just because you start open or closed, doesn't mean that's what the club is at impact. Watch the 50 yard shot in the series and they explain it even better.
it's just: ball position, alignment and it's starting line. you don't open or close the face... per-se, it's pointing at your starting line and that might be open or closed. i don't know why this is annoying me. LOL
Freddie!!! My favorite golfer to watch of all time. Was watching the first round of The Masters, thinking of where he was & what he is doing today. So glad this vid with him in it popped up today. Also love the TM MG wedges, that rusted look on Tiger's wedge is classic.
Yeah. I do this. It works. Same way you hit a full swing draw. Head back, let the hands go through first. 😂😂 Don't "Close it up at impact"... Just focus on leaning forward on front foot, keeping head back and not looking at target through the swing and let your hands go through. Tiger has the best hands ever probably, so he's making it look easy.
I prefer taking the ball right at the stick and flying the ball directly into the cup, ideally .. landing it in the hole like its Apollo 11 touching down in the Sea of Tranquility .. rattling the cup sending the acoustical message back mission control that once again, the eagle has landed. Nothing more satisfying. Do I occasionally catch the flag stick and suffer an unlucky bounce? NOPE!! There are no such things as unlucky bounces in golf, only deterministic outcomes based on the rules of computational reducability. Practicing flying the ball into the cup on the fly with flop shops over a bunker to a tightly tucked pin is not only very rewarding, but can also teach you alot about parachute dynamics. Because that's how you want your ball to behave, riding the flagstick down vertically like Santa coming down the chimney, the only thing touching the flag stick is the shadow of the ball, bringing about the full sensation of golfing nirvana. Balls are meant to fly. That's why they're called eagles, not worms.
Even Freddy rolled up close on the exaggerated throw. Dudes a true pro.
They cut the camera when they realized it was going to end up close 😂
Nice of them to add some golf instruction to this music video...
Hey, at least it's not the same annoying bland elevator guitar loop running over and over again.
Buzzed up lessons are great!
Never knew that, open face draw, closed fade. Thanks Tiger. Wow, nice shots!

@@GHS_Soccer Thanks, good explanation!
Freddy on hype man duties "there you go"
😂 I wish he was my golf hype man.

Great tips gentleman!!! Can't wait to get out on the chipping green tomorrow!!! Good Luck in the Masters Tiger!!!!!
I hope Tiger didn’t drive home. He’s lit af 😂😂
Yeah he is lol. Them must be some really good pain meds
Didn't see much of Fred at the Masters but still good to see him playing.
Ever notice how someone who's really good makes it look easy?
Great video Freddie and the Big Cat are just Class Acts!
My dudes looking fine in red!
I can learn well thank you.
Fred @ 2:34, makes everything smooth looking
How good is he, incredible stuff
Love it. Its all about feel !
I always do a good high chip . This is better action. Nice lesson and it’s free
Whenever i need to chill out with my swing, ill just watch one freddys range sessions...does wonder
same!
That's some good stuff there.
I tried the open to close face and it works wonders. I was using a 52 degree wedge. Which club is tiger using in this demonstration?
Pure gold. Save it and go practice.
Thanks so much, it looks pretty easy. Do you rock your shoulders or your body when chipping?
I see they read Harvey Penick's books also.
Anybody else figured out what made tiger so special was his ability to save shots around the green that translate to low scores everywhere
Literal Masters...
Try that technique at Three Jack National and it's more leading edge
Learning new chips when you can’t even hit regular chips consistently is great
Ive been watching Freddy sense i was 5 and tried so hard to swing like him till this day i dont where a glove probably should lol
Love this but should of also had a rear camera angel of the shot as well 🤔 but always love new info
The same as every teacher, he tells first that he will put the club on the toe, but when executing he does not.
a GOAT and an apprentice 😂😂😂

Ray Ray is where all the short game secrets came from.
The chiputt for instance, yep Ray Ray.
Best short game. 😊😊
Secrets behind a draw chip: Answer : Be Tiger Woods

I can make this look extremely difficult
as a casual golfer my most reliable greenside chipping stroke is a 9-iron stroked like a putt 😅
Tiger, you're crazy talented, don't waste your time trying to teach us hackers. It's OK.
I am not sure what he is telling us. In this case a putter will give the same result to my opinion. 😁
This is good but why not play 9 holes and teach players how to hit each shot: drive, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, putt.
I can’t understand why htey never give us a down the line view. Woud be so much more helpful.
Shaft upright….then he moved it back to normal position 😁
Yeah he doesn't know what he's doing right
🤡🤡
Tiger barely holding on
I learned nothing.
You shoot in the 100s
Watch it again
Try disc golf
You could probably get signed on at LIV. They like no skilled low energy people.
Try putt-putt golf
Please stop the 70’s porn music
How many performance enchancing drugs is Tiger on? look at Tiger's face compared to Fred Couples.
I think its just painkillers. It sounds like hes slurring.
It's Xanax, he's hanging on, the ride doesn't last long, unfortunately.
Didnt want to point that out, but was thinking the same thing. @justinsmith700
I wouldn’t blame him if he is. He’s had about 20 surgeries and looks like a POW every time he’s finishing a round.
