I just really loved this collab. The round on Grants channel too was just great. Collin is just so likeable and I'm a fringe (no pun intended) golf watcher that just got into it lately over the last year or two and it just gives me another reason to cheer for him :) Sorry hardcore golfers, I'm a newbie
One thing I’d add when wind is in your face is club up and swing smoothly. This will take off spin and bring the ball flight down like Collin was mentioning.
Finally got an answer to why people fade it different ways, with what Colin said here. He aims face at target because he closes the face during delivery. 🤯 💥 Thank. You.
2:24 great detail here. If you watch the greats you’ll notice. Great example is Tiger in his prime. His swing looked different for every shot and always did something to the ball to adjust to the situation. I like to think Tiger does with his hands what Scottie does with his feet.
Here with the hope of getting new irons!! lol.. loved the video, despite everything that Colin and Grant discussed about controlling spin but separating it from height went way over my head. :/
I hope i win the set of irons that are being given away. I need some new irons! 41 year old dad of two. Never have owned a name brand set of golf clubs. My first set of golf clubs, Javelin Blue, I bought for 200 dollars from a road side shop where an old man built them in a shed. I am still playing them to this day and I bought them in the summer of 2000 when I was 17. Dad needs a new set!
interesting to have the same swing speed, but different feel or force at impact to control spin. Most weekend golfers can only think to regulate swing speed or the length of the backswing, but are not able to adjust the impact with the same normal swing speed. Of course, that is why we are not pros or even close to decent.
Spin control is king for elite players. The diff between low cap, scratch and true pros is different universes. I laff at scratch players that try and Monday qualify or have the mistaken belief they're good enough to play on tour. lol Being a low single digit or even scratch golfer is not even close to a + 5 index pro. Totally different worlds. I play to a 5 and I suck big time compared to scratch players and scratch players totally suck compared to true pros.
@@KS-qy5lt Well I trust the evidence of my eyes just watching this video. Grant is at best scratch and probs a 2 cap and colin is a pros pro. Clearly massively better than Grant. When I was a 13 cap it was easy to ge to a 7 and then relatively doable to get to a 5 but getting to scratch? Good luck as there's no room for a bad hole or two. It's 10x harder to go from a 5 to scratch than it is from a 20 to a 5. I know cuz I'[e done the first part and will take yrs to get to scratch for me from here. Getting from scratch to Colin's level? A lifetime and that won't be enuf! :)
@danmyers9372 No, I'm a much worse golfer. I would try to listen if Collin Morikawa was trying to tell me something. I think he repeated it 6 times. I should of added a emoji as I am kidding 🤣. Like you said he'd mop the floor with me in a 1v1
I hear what Colin said hitting the fade and on the bowed wrist but I thought bowing your wrist closes the face? How does it work where it doesn’t result in a massive hook?
Bowing the wrist does close the face. Guys like Collin, DJ and Rahm all play with a shut face. They avoid hooking it by opening up and cutting across the ball.
Grant I'm guessing here ... I guess the majority of your followers including me of course, we are not good enough to hit our irons with different speed control. Where I live we have always a lot of wind, 12-20mph. Would love to see a video how we should try to play in wind. I normally try to take more club, grip down, stand closer and swing slower, but that is really difficult for me. Thanks
I'd love to see this discussion but curated to the tiers of your viewers. I mean everyone who is watching finds Colins insights interesting, but I suspect this isn't applicable to 99% of your viewers. If you could do a longer style video with 'iron advice for mid to high handicappers', then some 'mid to low' and finalizing with a ''Grant specific' section... that would be amazing content.
Camera guy: next time stay NEXT to the golf pro when they are speaking - and simply zoom in on Grant. Colin was giving golden insights, but his voice trails off every time Camera Guy walks towards Grant. Otherwise, great video
I'm very surprised that you didn't know this as solid as a player as you are. You need to film your practice sessions. And use a alignment stick I hardly ever have seen you practice with a alignment stick. All the pros do for a reason brother.I never practice or warmup without a stick.
clean the grooves man! you took 5 shots and never cleaned them! UNGH! I always have a wet towel with me. If I don't want the ball to backspin or stop I'll take practice swings to fill my grooves. So, bust a move.
clean grooves, swing like a pro, got it 👍🏼
You did good listening
Simple math😂
Don't forget to change the grips once a week and get completely new wedges on the first day of each month.
So easy
@@PatrickPeed😂😂
Shot tracers would help a ton when the video is about shot shape.
Draw starts right goes left towards pin. Fade starts left goes right towards pin.
Agree was thinking the same
@@bmoneybby- Thanks Cap.
theyre rarely accurate with cheaper equip
Great insight from Colin; he's a natural on camera.
He's giving bland advice...anybody can clean grooves
Go Collin. What a great golf personality and Champion.

"just" count = 5 in one message 😮
Your right. He just seems like a regular dude that is easy to cheer for.
One thing I’d add when wind is in your face is club up and swing smoothly. This will take off spin and bring the ball flight down like Collin was mentioning.
Correct. And not just in the wind. I have heard many pros say to take off spin, you need to take more club and hit it easier.
If it's breezy, take it easy
Thank you Collin for the great explanation of this move that’s going to help me with my golf swing ❤
Veyr helpful video! Love seeing the dynamic between Colin and Grant
Finally got an answer to why people fade it different ways, with what Colin said here. He aims face at target because he closes the face during delivery. 🤯 💥 Thank. You.
Need more of this
Love the collab!
Grant sent me over for a new set of irons!😂😂 love the content keep up the good work.
Subscribed to both - time for new sticks

Great content!
the title of this video should be "if u are a scratch iron player, watch this video"
Yeah the majority of us are just trying to make solid contact and hit it (somewhat) towards the target.
Sick vid!
The boys are buzzing appreciate the insight
great video following up and iron giveaway!!! Well done Sir Horvat
Great hits😊
I just love Grants tempo
Great playing!
grant vs collin is my wishlist ❤
Thanks for the great video
Collin is the best!
Commenting for the clubs that grant mentioned
Amazing video
Good stuff
Here with the hope of getting new irons!! lol.. loved the video, despite everything that Colin and Grant discussed about controlling spin but separating it from height went way over my head. :/
Great stuff
Foley gave you an hour on how to flight your wedges, I've been practicing that for 2 months and it works great.
Thank you!
I enjoyed this.
Great lesson
Awesome content
Legend
Colin is so natural
Giving him some shade off the top with cleaning his grooves.
I was really rooting for Grant... Great round regardless and so fun to watch! We need more 🎉🎉🎉
Nice vid
In post I'd like to Grants start line and target marked and a tracer to see how the ball is shaping through the air.
The wrist bow is something I've been experimenting but I think it's more for weaker grip players like Colin. Love the colab!
Dustin Johnson special
Wrist bow is something you either do naturally or don’t/can’t. It is not something everyone can do as not everyone’s wrists work that way.

Choice of shaft? I changed from stiff to regular (light weight, because I`m getting older) on irons - the ball is going higher and more spinny.
Crazy Grant is still able to play at a high level while being notorious for never cleaning his grooves. But that buttery swing is 🤌
I need some new irons!

those new clubs thoo
Clean the grooves… wish all I had to worry about was how much spin LOL
It’s very refreshing to see a tour pro giving golf lessons. I know feel and real very but to hear what a world class player is feeling is priceless.
My second time watching this
My Irons on grants video ⬛️ my irons on PGA tour superstore ✅
Lookin for them irons 😭
Grant , I’d appreciate your consideration of new irons.
Can you listen Grant? How many times does he have to tell you to line up left of your target
It’s so easy to criticize. I bet you do everything perfect!
@danmyers9372 No, I'm a much worse golfer. I would try to listen if Collin Morikawa was trying to tell me something. I think he repeated it 6 times. I should of added a emoji as I am kidding 🤣. Like you said he'd mop the floor with me in a 1v1
I would say what he is describing would directly reflect a pro billiards players drawing a cue ball.
Grant Horvat
Here for the new set of irons. 😂
Now I understand all the fade shit talk on the match video
grants so good he can't even hit a slice when he tries to
You hitched your wagon to the right train
The man who hits a beautiful draw, takes a lesson on hitting cuts before the match lol, tsk tsk. :)
Why no cuts during the beat down from Collin?
I hear what Colin said hitting the fade and on the bowed wrist but I thought bowing your wrist closes the face? How does it work where it doesn’t result in a massive hook?
Bowing the wrist does close the face. Guys like Collin, DJ and Rahm all play with a shut face. They avoid hooking it by opening up and cutting across the ball.
Face is still open to the path - Collin is so good at using the body to prevent excess face rotation where he can just hold it off.
Colin is so chill with just the right amount of chirpy smack talk. I am envious.
He screwed him up, spoiler alert on the match 😂
Power fades only from here on out
Grant is elite!
The strip was dragging it left.
Iron brush sales 24h after this video 📈📈📈📈

Both these guys look like they are still in high school. Do they even shave yet? 🤣.
Or maybe I think I’m just getting old 😢
Collin says he's nervous and ends up beating Grant by 13 shots.
I would love the set but I feel their is another little boy or girl out their that needs it more than me.
wow
Grant, your content is a masterclass
I'm here for the new irons! My WS Pi5s were stolen!
Tracer please
I want to win the price

Then you can’t have Collin on can we
Are my irons ready?
Camera guy: next time stay NEXT to the golf pro when they are speaking - and simply zoom in on Grant. Colin was giving golden insights, but his voice trails off every time Camera Guy walks towards Grant.
Otherwise, great video
Never understood why a draw seems to be the preferred shot shape. Nothing wrong whatsoever in playing a fade
I'm very surprised that you didn't know this as solid as a player as you are. You need to film your practice sessions. And use a alignment stick I hardly ever have seen you practice with a alignment stick. All the pros do for a reason brother.I never practice or warmup without a stick.
I want free irons
Lol grant barely moving to left to try to cut the ball made me mad. MOVE MORE LEFT GRANT!!!
clean the grooves man! you took 5 shots and never cleaned them! UNGH! I always have a wet towel with me. If I don't want the ball to backspin or stop I'll take practice swings to fill my grooves. So, bust a move.
Everyone who slices uncontrollably wants a draw, while these natural drawing player hate that they hit beautiful draws. 🤦🏻♂️ 😂
I didn't know he was from L.A. I guess "Whyte" replacement is not just a meme 🤔
It's a shame isn't it.
Majority of the people watching this have no clue what he’s talking about
Do you think you're superior to those people? What a bell end you are 😂😂
Give a master-class to a 15 handicapper.
GRANT OPEN UP FOR CHRISTS SAKE you keep moving your foot literally like a half inch lol
He talks like Tiger, in that he has a good speaking voice, but its also a bunch of buzzwords and you end up not really learning anything 😂
lol grant you can’t hit a cut to save your life
Once a drawer, always a drawer
"Masterclass" - words have no meaning
Came from the video on grants just to watch this
I like watching them but damn, pros are really bad at explaining shots, it is all gibberish and feels... haha
Damn yall really paid Grant to try and get subs on your channel fast, so so gross...
