Conquering Dystopia lives on... a decade later and I still spin that awesome album! Nevermore are one of my all-time favourite bands too. I hope we get more original music from Jeff in future - he is an outstanding creative artist and while I do appreciate his role in Arch Enemy - his greatest gift is in composing original material as opposed to being just a hired shredder.
Jeff you need to start your own band ! I miss the nevermore days. Would love to see you start something new ! So much talent ! Incredible like always !
By the way, I'm pretty sure we are getting another Conquering Dystopia album. I remember posts from Keith saying that it was being worked on, and he and Jeff are still friends, it's just taking a really long time. Jeff and Keith both got tied up with other projects and bands.
Jeff is the type of guitarist who simultaneously inspires AND depresses you, because he is such a talented player. I could only dream of reaching his level of ability. One of THE greatest metal players ever imho, up there with Jeff Waters, Chris Poland and a few others as absolute masters of their craft.

There are 4 guitarists i always go to when it comes to shredding but is always clear as to hear every note. Vito bratta, yngwie, reb beach and jeff loomis. Love them all.
The world just wasn't ready for this album when it first came out. I'm not sure the world is ready now. Some of us are still recovering from the shock that came from hearing this album for the first 100 times. I still call it the best instrumental album of all-time....change my mind.
@@JohnnyRaven69 Yeees! But coincidentally, I fear Megadeth could be about to replace Kiko (who's on leave because of family reasons), and might look to Jeff whom Dave already know, and who's just become 'a free agent'. I ofc want Jeff to pay his bills, but I hope we get more than downtuned versions of Megadeth classics in addition to their godawful new material + stiff choreographed lived performances in the coming years... :-/
I know Arch Enemy is paying the bills... but here's the band I want to see: Jeff Loomis on guitar. Yuja Wang on keyboards. Gene Hoglan on drums. Steve DiGiorgio on bass. Dino Jelusick on vocals. 🤘🏼👽🤘🏼
My favorite track off that album! I can't help but hear in my head what Warrel's voice over the chaotic riffery. On another note: I'd love to hear a collab between Jeff and Eloy Casagrande. I need new music from Mr Loomis!
Getting that guitar for my birthday I have been playing Jackson since 1988 I met jeff back in 2016 namm I endorse and play Seymour Duncan pickups since 1992 Killer video and track
I have seen many and I mean many great guitarist live. You name it and I have seen them probably. This guy though.. Was probably the cleanest I ever seen when he was in Nevermore. Something about the sound and tone he used that night. Not saying he was the best I ever seen talent wise... Definitely up there at the top, but he was definitely the cleanest sounding.... PROPS TO THE SOUND GUY FOR THAT ONE!!!
My favorite conquering dystopia song Jeff u r my favorite guitar player ever keep on shreddin' sure has helped me through a lot of tough times cuz I can always listen to these songs and they would make me feel so much better
Please don't @ me. This is what Jeff was made for. He's such an inncredible guitar AND SONG WRITER, I've always felt like he has been held back in Arch Enemy. In my opinion, I think Jeff is up there with Dime, Skolnick, Wilde etc....
Incredible. Some of the smoothest licks I have ever seen. Fast can get boring, but not with this guy..his main innovation, play it exact. It's a fucking composition. Does anyone knows what pick ups he uses in this video? Looks like Seymour Duncans, but not his signatures. I have seen these before and have been wondering this for a while...
One of the best metal guitarist with one of the best metal album in the world!
Such clean chops. Just unbelievable mastery of guitar. Holy Smokes…
Definitely one of the best metal guitarists ever!
Top 10 easy
Oh yes... !!!

Check conquering distopia🤟🏼
Is there anyone else that owns both riffs and solos as much as Jeff Loomis. Both ends of his playing are so tight.
I think that Wes Hauch is equally top-notch!! Check him out if you haven't 🙂 (Alluvial)
Dimebag comes to mind even sooner that Jeff
@@andounis If Jeff did a collab with Wes it would be monstrous.
Turbo valid thought

Is it weird that i like Lommis mostly for his Rhythm playing? such a killer riff writer.
Not weird at all, he's a sick riff writer with a great tone to complement it 👌
most of these rhythms are the work of keith merrow if i'm not mistaken
@@thedudeofficial69 no doubt, he's great too. I was more talking about Loomis' career overall here :)
@@kiwar193 Gotcha, you're right either way lol.

the living legend himself, Mr Jeff Loomis! (Nevermore, Arch Enemy, Conquering Dystopia)

Another Nevermore would be better…
@@shaharbar might as well ask for the impossible.

UNDERATED LEGEND. Jeff's an absolute UNIT. His solo on periphery's racecar is the stuff of legend.
Jeff made the coolest 7 string you can buy
I love my JL7!!!
Yep! I build handmade custom and semi-custom guitars and basses, so I can build whatever I want, but I still play my JL-7 all the time.
so mezmerizing to watch him play. the song is an absolut masterpiece. so much talent in one video....i am speechless.
