@@JesterSam75 Ever heard of Tom Geldschläger, Kevin Heiderich, Wes Hauch, Ron Jarzombek, David Davidson, Muhammed Suicmez, Per Nilsson, motherfucking Guthrie Govan? Sorry, I mean "your point being?", of course. Also, if we speak purely full-time professional guitar players, Laiho is mediocre at best purely in terms of skill and technique. He has no place in the same list where absolute units like Jari and Teemu reside.
Couldn't agree more with that statement. I can listen to the Mp3 but I rather watch The Master play himself plus the solo is different I prefer this solo better.
Jeff Loomis is one of the only shred guys out there who really makes you feel all different types of emotion while doing his solos. The solo he does in this EMG video I think is better then the one that is done in his studio which is his mp3 version. Jeffs amazing I listen to him all the time this is one of my favorites.
Loomis is clearly also, absolutely in love with leaning heavily, oftentimes almost predominantly towards utilizing ALL the diminished scale licks he can possibly humanly fit into a single musically contextual song format...whIch is exactly what Id be doing too if I could
I saw them last night in Texas. Jeff melted my face clean off. He is a super nice guy too. We chatted about Schecter guitars before and after the show. AMAZING dude.
Saw/heard him for the first time opening for the mighty SOILWORK on this '13 tour. I became a fan instantly. Guys like him and Andy James are inspiring me to pick up the guitar again.
Saw this guy live over the weekend in a tiny venue in london called the underworld. and it was Fucking incredible, spoke to the guy by the bar afterwards, incredibly underrated guitarist, played every song live as if it were on the album
Same here. Seen him twice: once when he was supporting his solo material and once with Arch Enemy. Blows my mind every time, and I still have the picture I took with him in 2016 to this day. I’m never getting rid of it.
Damn! it never hit me earlier. If Warrel Dane ever wrote a lyrics to this, it would have made a kick ass nevermore song. Falls right in the Dead heart era sound. RIP Warrel, RIP Nevermore.
That’s what I’ve been saying all along! Most of his solo songs could have been Killer Nevermore songs! Seems like a waste of great music? Jeff needs to get a real singer and start his own band! He is wasting his incredible talent as a hired gun in Arch Enemy? He is way more talented then them as well as a much better song writer! Ugh so frustrating cause he’s not just a shredder he can write incredible stuff! Not sure what is stopping him? I don’t think he realizes how many fans are dying to hear another band like Nevermore again and the amount of support he’d get!!!
I saw him play live a few days ago, didn't miss a single note. Got a photo with him after the gig he's a really nice guy too. Best day of my entire life
Thank you jeff! I'm an alcoholic and now quit. I have to learn how to play like this. I now have you to look up to. Words cannot Express how stunned I am at seeing you play. Thank you...any lessons would be much appreciated. Wasted too much time with the bottle.
Jezus II Tosin Abasi is different. Jeff Loomis and Andy James are the best players in my opinion when it comes to 7 string guitar. And remember musical taste varies from person to person. I never got into any of Tobins songs maybe you could point me in the right direction with Tosin. I look for music that carries some type of emotional content.
After reading this comment, every time I listen to this song or sing the riff, I only get to sing "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAGA DAGA DAGA DAGA DAGA DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Saw jeff and had a cigarette with him outside of the palladium in Mass yesterday!! Was an honor to talk to a god, one of my biggest influences, and watch him shred!!!
I had one 81-7 in one of my guitar, Garza signature, in the bridge and took it off right after an hour of playing with it. Had to pulled out one of the 707s from my other guitar, Loomis signature, and put it back in. Now the 81-7 is in my Loomis guitar and it is put in the neck. I like 81 when it is in the neck more than bridge.
Pure guitar fucking genius... The beautiful part literally makes me want to praise Jeff as one of the greatest in history. Just saying that section is absolutely gorgeous..
Its his Schecter signature model. Im not sure if they have released it in that color or not though. I have played one..Amazing instrument and not ungodly expensive like signature models of say Petrucci, or Vai..
That is sad & tragic...but the man is more important than the object. Objects, amps, guitars etc.. can be replaced, there will only ever be one Jeff Loomis whom means so much more to this style music than most can fathom. Heres to his health and never may he break a hand!!
I’ve blasted this song in my car while smoking in the parking lot at work so many times and people just walk by staring at me wondering why I’m listening to music so loud 😂
His choice of guitars is always epic. 7 string usually. Matt Black, and he absolutely shreds tf out of them. Those guitars are put through their paces with Jeff playing them. I'm not even a metal fan, I've just got to listen to this guys licks though.
How Jeff does it, matters not. Asking yourself how YOU can reach your playing and expressive goals on the guitar, matters a lot :) There's more than one way to do it, but they all require a burning hot desire, persistence, passion, and the right mindset :) (and of course, loads of practice and playing) I can't say I have reached all of my goals on the guitar yet either, but keep at it man! It IS possible!
Ill give ya a tip..he's been playing longer than 7 years! It takes a lot of work to get that clean and precise and still make music out of it.. Sadly a lot of players don't put in the effort to get there.. Im not saying im there by any means..I am working on it though.
i dont care what anyone says, Loomis is one if not the best guitarist around, for metal for sure. he plays with soul even unlike some people who just play as fast as they can and thats it. if i can play half as good as him, well i might e about half. i dont see me being able to play all his solos as clean as he can.
thank you jeff for continuing the great legacy of shredders. ps u and chris brodreck should get together with Michael Ammot and jari mannepa and melt the world with metal.
MOOOOO duggaduggaduggaduggaduggadugga MOOOO duggaduggaduggaduggaduggadugga
this made me lol
I'm glad there are still funny people on here that made my sides hurt
Charlie the Wizard Rapist Thank you for spreading the vibe. :D
Charlie the Wizard Rapist A lot of protein in this song..........
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Hey I'm 71 and still inspired to play like this gentleman!
Jeff you ROCK...!!!🤟
I love the part from 0:00 to 3:59 ..
Same here
Right! When he does that thing! ✊🏼
Yeah it’s my favorite part as well!
Jackass
Simp
What I love about Jeff is that he s not only the ultimate shredder..but that also he's Riffs are soo damn heavy
Jeff Loomis, definitely one the BEST guitar players of all times.
;-)
TONY I completely agree. Been playing for almost 20 years and this guy is outrageous not only in his incredible skill, but song writing as well.
Ever heard of Alexi Laiho, Jari Mäenpää, John Petrucci, Teemu Mäntysaari?

Arguing who the best guitarists in the world are is ridiculous. It’s music and not a marathon.
This song has me hooked. Its like a drug now. I HAVE to hear it. the emotion he put into this song is amazing!
Couldn't agree more with that statement. I can listen to the Mp3 but I rather watch The Master play himself plus the solo is different I prefer this solo better.
This is hands down his best song. That melodic section is one of the best things I've ever heard.
No love for miles of machines?? :'(
Zero Order Phase is a complete album and every song on it rivals this one. This MF is just next fucking level!!😲😲
No love for The Ultimatum, Requiem For A Living, Jato Unit or Mercurial? :(

Easily way better than the studio. He dropped this one before the album and when the solo came I couldn't believe he didn't use this one.
I agree so hard. I much prefer listening to this instead
Loomis is clearly also, absolutely in love with leaning heavily, oftentimes almost predominantly towards utilizing ALL the diminished scale licks he can possibly humanly fit into a single musically contextual song format...whIch is exactly what Id be doing too if I could
The craziest part is that you know he tracked this song on the album AND live here in one take. The man is an absolute machine
gotta love Jeff's happy face
His playing is just something else
I saw them last night in Texas. Jeff melted my face clean off. He is a super nice guy too. We chatted about Schecter guitars before and after the show. AMAZING dude.
Loomis is a beast. A great talent and monster player, who writes damn good music.
Saw/heard him for the first time opening for the mighty SOILWORK on this '13 tour. I became a fan instantly. Guys like him and Andy James are inspiring me to pick up the guitar again.
I saw him live in Myrtle Beach with Nevermore . Chris Broderick was in the band too . They were flawless .
easily my favorite guitarist.
2:50 heaven collides with hell and gives birth to Jeff Loomis.
makes me wanna play. I go now!
that what good tunes do! rock on bro

One of the best videos! I love Jeff's guitar style!
Jeff playing and the energy that comes from his playing is just so raw. Thats one bad dude right there
One of the most masterful displays of guitar playing and dynamics in musicianship I've ever seen. Holy shit.
He always makes the music he plays look effortless. Rock on Jeff!!
I feel literally blessed that I saw him live.

I would like to like this track another several dozen times.
One of the main reasons to get a 7. Jeff Loomis!
Thanks for making us these vids EMG. Simply amazing seeing these guys at work.
That's awesome! Great metal guitar music
Even after almost a decade listening almost everyday I still love this song !

Jeff is amazing. This album is going to be amazing.
I like that bit with the awesome riff and the lead part.
That was mind blowing ! He is so proficient in his execution it's just brilliant!! Total shred !!!!!!!!!
I love the Vai-ish bar hit part with the clean rythmic pattern really compliments eachother.
Loomis and Andy James are the best guys out there today.
Loomis and Keith Merrow are the best Metal duo ever.
MrTURBOJOHN Im talking 7 string lead.
MrTURBOJOHN Yes Loomis and Merrow are absolutely mind blowingly insane. I agree with you on that 100% bro.

One of my fav songs on the album, the main solo is just amazing.
Thank you Jeff
I love that main riff! So dark of a bend!
so awesome to see jeff and his playing. So in love
That intro riff with that pre-bend into the initial riff.. mental.

Damn right bro I have looped it like a thousand times!!!
One of the best shredders of the moment.
THE MAN HAS DONE IT ONCE AGAIN!
I used to think of Jeff as a soulless harmonic minor and diminished shredder, but then I heard his work. This guy is a god...
Oh, this makes me so happy.
yeah man since Loomis and Atila jammed Loomis has been killer on the wammy he rocks it alot more these days
i fucking love jeff!!! this guy deserves everything he makes... he’s just phenomenal

Jeff ... Crazy! Phenomenal ...
Jeff is currently using an Axe-FX Ultra and an Engl Rack Poweramp live. He used to use an Engl Savage.
andy james is one of the cleanest guitarist i've ever seen play for his genre but i think they are both incredibly good
2:53 When you realize you'll need a hand extension surgery to play the full song.
The whole video is freaking awesome!
Jeff ALWAYS brings it!!!!!

So refreshing to hear a little simple pentatonic thrown into all that madness there around the 2:30 mark

Awesome playing, not sure the equipment does Loomis justice , what a God of the universe
