Catus I have had a few corded Black & Decker drills over the past 50 years. Everyone of them served me well. I bought an inexpensive (under 30 dollars) corded Black and Decker angle grinder and it too has been a pleasant surprise. Another very good review from you ole boy.

Had my type 1, working at the work bench, since 2010. It's a real workhorse. Thanks for the take-a-part, taught me much. Great review, Ty.

Will it drill through hard wood and concrete/brick? The two most important questions for these kinds of cheap drills that none of these drill review channels are addressing. See at 5:20 ...who is going to buy a cheap drill for that kind of job. It's nice to see that, but that's not why people buy cheap drills.

Jeez Black and Decker came a long ways since I remembered buying them at Sam Waltons five and dime in the 30s.

Will it drill through hardwood? concrete?
At 5:20 - That's a nice sample of what the drill can do. The problem is that who is going to buy a cheap drill for that kind of drilling. IMO most people want to know is will it drill through hardwood or concrete (for hanging up ornaments on brick walls)

And when the industry changes battery platforms in 10-15 years you won't have to throw it away with your $1000 worth of cordless tools and batteries. Your corded drill and saws will still be running when you die.

I had a black and decker Dr 320 from 2007 with a 3/8 chuck gel cushioning on the handle didn't have a whole lot of torque but did have speed but then it still came with hard cases looking at a storage recently and it blew out I didn't really care so much I have a DeWalt DW 235 g type 2 7.8 amp drill with 850 rpm plenty of torque had it for years still works

5:15 - I'm confused. Why does it need a charger? I thought this was a corded drill.

Hi & thanks a lot for this great video. May I plz ask a Q.? Do u think if one of the detent springs is missing, -but the reverse switch moves right- can this cause the drill not to turn on at all? Thank u

Interesting design. I have a b&d drill from the 80s that still works, but has a sheet metal chuck. Also picked up newer model 7.5A at estate sale for 10 bucks, and it accepts the side handle from my Dewalt cordless XRP NiCad drill.

Keep up the great videos! Do you think you'd ever tear down one of the newer Black and Decker Circular saws?

    Corded drills are bad ass
I have a chincy Skil from about the 00s, over time the trigger stopped working, and that was the perfect opportunity to swap in a variable speed from a router or something. It gives it so much more versatility, the speed adjustment knob can be used in addition to the variable speed trigger, so to keep a certain rpm you can adjust the knob and just hold down the trigger. Also, attach some sketchy grinding wheel, clamp the drill to a table, set the trigger on cruise and you've got yourself a better-than-nothing grinder with variable speed right on the trigger.

When you consider the price difference of these two tools it doesn't make sense... the cheap Black & Decker can be used all over the house... of course the Milwaukee Chuck is better but for $35 for a 3/8 drill that thing can be used anywhere in the house aside from digging into block or anything heavier-duty... the plastic Chuck will suffice 90% around the house

Not too bad for a $35.00 corded drill. If I have a need for a corded drill I will make sure to buy mine at Lowe's to get the included charger! Edit: I used one of the HF cheaper corded drills...once. It caught on fire!

$35 for that it ain't worth it I could have gotten a craftsman brushless drill with battery and charger for $30 on clearance but I got the 4 tool combo brushless set for $75 at Lowe's

I am new to doing my own repairs. I got this drill and some drill bits and the drill bits don't fit. I go to read the instructions and there is no mention of what drill bits to use. Whoever is making these products is absolutely terrible at making things simple and easy to use. Life is too short for me to make three trips to Home Depot just to do one simple job. People are idiots I swear to God anyway not you thanks for this review

Looks like a good drill not sure how it would hold up on a job site for little things with 10 guys tossing it around that's the biggest issue for me abuse of the poor thing. But for home use absolutely don't drop it kick it good to go the harbor freight one someone grabbed a 20 dollar one it looks good like a skill one I still have got in the 80s still running great but unfortunately the hf one puffs of smoke toss it in the garbage 🗑️. Have fun great show.

It's not intended for job site use, it's intended for homeowners and weekend warriors who don't need much at all.

It did a wonderful job working with small crews of 6 to 10 guys in Concrete Form Work.
Then we moved onto the 3/4 in hammer drill with a bit up to 1 in.

useless review, who the hell cares how the screws hold the plastic. The key problem is they jam and you can not put in another drill. Avoid B&D corded cheap drills.

If you put a huge chuck on there then ricky bobby diwhy will have plausible deniability when he burns the brushes out of it trying to power tap 3/4 holes in his garage
