    Love the comparison. I completely agree. I have best buy config with the mechanical keyboard and out of the 5 other omens ive had this is by far my favorite. Also played with the maingear at my local microcenter and the size weight performance screen and portability make it a strong competitor against the hp but that keyboard is such a strong turn off. If the reference machines can actually get a nice keyboard one year they will be a tough thing to beat.

      How would you compare a Lenovo legion 7 ryzen 7 5800h 3080 to an HP omen 17 i7 3070 in terms of performance and future upgrades. I can get the HP Omen 17 for £1700 -1800 here in the U.K. & the Legion 7 for E2000 do you think it’s worth paying the extra for the Lenovo 3080?

      @@mikecoshan3752 depends on your focus. Intel gives more head run with gen 4 thunderbolt and stronger CPU performance. 3080 will give more performance in GPU bound performance but not much over 3070 and it will be handicapped in gaming performance with a ryzen chip. From what I've seen is the 5800h starts to become bottleneck and mid tgp 3070 after that there is a visible difference going 5900hx which is pretty on par with Intel 11800h. If gaming performance and Intel features is your focus go that route productivity which is slightly better on ryzen and battery life go ryzen but I think long term you will be better off going Intel...

    Thanks for the video, I have the same laptop main gear vector pro 17 rtx 3080 with 11800h. where you able to check the rtx 3080 temperature in games, mine is reaching 83-85 C while on 115-130 watts, i had to limit its max temperature to 77 which will limit wattage around 105-110. Im wondering if it needs to be repasted or i should return the laptop, i got it open box in pristine condition for 1724$. I appreciate your input on this, thank you

    HP did a stellar job with the keyboard design on the Omen line. I can't count the number of times I got excited about specs or other factors about a laptop, only to take a close look at the keyboard and it totally be a turn-off. I mean, who really needs a numeric pad on a laptop these days? Ok, maybe some -- but on a gaming laptop? Really? Thus, for me the Omen line is a clear win overall.

    Are you going to trick them out? Like liquid metal for heat, ram, and any thing else to speed it up and cool it down.

  • @haneko6422
    @haneko6422 2 роки тому

    I didnt watch all the video yet but the reason why hp has only one gen 4 nvme slot is becuase intel 11th gen only has 20 pcie gen 4 lanes and 16 are going to the gpu which leaves only 4 lanes left which all go to that one nvme slot. The main gear in order to have 2 gen 4 nvme slots means it only has 8 pcie lanes to the gpu. This would probably be okay for a 3070 but you might get some bottlenecking on the 3080 with only 8 lanes.
    Also want to add there is no way a 230 watt power brick could power all that hardware at max performance so there is defenitly going to be sacrificing power to most likely the cpu while the gpu is getting max power.

      Gysnc isn't enabled but I'm graphics settings in hybrid mode it refers to adaptive sync and Intel graphics program shows the monitor to have a refresh range of 60-165. So something tells me something isn't yet enabled but I do see no tearing in hybrid mode but more in dgpu... Not sure why it isn't an option though...
