I do this as well my loctician said every 6-8 weeks so I thought that was how often now I all confused!!! But I haven’t had any complaints about scents or smelliness so I think I might be ok. 🤷🏾♀️
@@ADW-i1h yes agreed! My hair still seems fresh and it has been awhile since I washed! I literally just washed my hair and conditioned it and it was still clean!
An avid workout/runner girl here. I get my hair shampooed and styled once a month. It'll be 5 years July and my hair is thriving and complimented EVERYDAY!!!
I’m in pickle 🥒! It’s too long and HEAVY TO DO ALONE! I have 176 locs and super thick hair!!! WHEW!!! That and maintaining the parts and then TRYING TO STYLE IT???? 😂😂😂😂 CHILE?!?!?!!!
Every other month because once washed I need a retwist and I don't want to retwist every couple weeks. I'm open for suggestions..😊 I hydrate weekly though.
In the same boat, sometimes I go even longer... my hair does not smell either. I barely use anything besides water No products, only a Rx oil (cause my scalp is cra-cra🫤) the less I disturb it (my scalp) the happier it is, No lie or joke😒
Same here. I can go 2 to 3 months and my hair doesn't smell. I dont mean to go so long, but it just happens. My locs are to my butt. 10 years in September. I wash and retwist my daughter's locs every month though.
Same here , I get a retwist every 2 months and that when I get a shampoo … I don’t put ANY products in or on my locs period .. I hydrate using my rose water and steam from the shower or my handheld steamer ❤
Yes this is true and good advice. I stretch my wash to 2 weeks after I get a retwist (every 6 weeks), because I want to keep my fresh retwist and encourage the new growth to lock before it unravels post shampoo. After that, I shampoo every week due to working out and scalp dermatitis. If I didn’t exercise daily or have dermatitis, I would wash my hair every 2 weeks instead of 1 week.
Every 3 months. In between I use pure aloe rose water and oil. I also use your products spray and shampoo and my loctician has a conditioner spray that is wonderful. Between my locticians products and yours my hair stays smelling great and my scalp never itches.
After I shampoo my hair and let it air dry I add black castor oil that's it and my locks are healthy and in the middle of my back it's been three years
I’ve learned to just listen to my hair and scalp. If my locs feel greasy and heavy, and my scalp feels itchy and oily, I know my babies are screaming for a good shower and my scalp is begging for a good cleaning.
Yup. My scalp starts screaming at week three. And my “loctian” told me I can’t shampoo my hair but once a month. Baby I’m a licensed stylist…I know that you need a clean scalp in order for your hair to grow
Do what your hair tells you to do. If its itchy dry and needs to be washed wash it! Do not fallow what other people do with their hair. Your scalp is not the same as someone elses!
I wash before every retie and I retie every 6weeks so once before my retie works for me. Everyone’s scalp is different. When I had loose hair, and used products I washed every two weeks, but now I barely use anything in my hair so Its not needed as often.
I will go 1-3 weeks depending on how much I do or get into. It’s usually every 2 weeks unless I get really sweaty multiple times or get into dirtier situations.
So i have waist length locs. I only wash when i feel like it is dirty and that is about every 3 weeks. In the winter i stick to once a month and it works in the winter because i am not outside as much and not sweating. Being that i am outside and sweating and very active when the weather is beautiful i have to wash more
About every 3 weeks or so.....but because I sweat a lot I do a water rinse in between washing so I may go a little longer. However I've been listening to my scalp on that wise. When my scalp starts itching I wash within a day or two.
Alright, sis! On the real, I recently went 6 weeks without shampooing or coloring my locs. I cleanse my scalp weekly, though. I am mature and so are my locs-- fortunately not much sweatin' happening over here! That 6 weeks was an outlier (usually I shampoo every 4 weeks or so) but i gotta tell you that shampooing causes the natural "wisdom highlights" to show more. Besides that, i had the best to pin curl set EVER during that time! My locs were still VERY curly when I shampooed nearly 6 weeks later, though I had a few silvery-grays shining through😂
I shampoo my locs every week. I have gone as long as 3 weeks between shampoos twice in the two years since I established my locs. Once a week is easy and lately that is the only time zinc apply oil to my scalp too.
Currently, I do mine once a month because, my hair isn’t fully loc’d and it unravels when it’s not in a style. Come tomorrow, I’ll be at the 11 month mark. Prayerfully, my locs will be fully loc’d after next month. 😭🤞🏽 After that I plan on washing once a week, because my scalp is always itchy. When I was 20 until like 24/25. I would wash my hair EVERYDAY, if not every 2 days. My hair wasn’t being dried out and my scalp wasn’t itching. My scalp itches if it dirty or I have too much product.
Once a week, trying to up to two times due to going to gym at least 3 times a week. On Retwist week, I skip a washing week then wash the following week after the No wash week. 3 years and 3 months ✨
I found that not applying oil to my scalp reduced the itching. I wash once a week and apply a mix of oils to my scalp and run my hands through the length of my locs. I will massage my scalp daily to distribute my natural sebum and maybe spritz it with water.
Once a week , my scalp can’t handle longer than that. Happy scalp, happy hair.
Every Saturday! If I go longer, I’ll nearly scratch a hole in my scalp!
Try Free The Roots. The only product that helped me
3-4 weeks depending on my hair and scalp
I wash every 10 days on average. 2 weeks at the most.
Monthly during the summer. by monthly during the winter. rosewater weekly on the locks and oil treatments during the winter weekly
Once a week, like clockwork😊 It's a pleasure!
Tbh I get mine shampooed during my appointments only. Unless I go swimming. I’ve been ok for over a year now. Everyone is different!
I do this as well my loctician said every 6-8 weeks so I thought that was how often now I all confused!!! But I haven’t had any complaints about scents or smelliness so I think I might be ok. 🤷🏾♀️
Same here! My wash before a retie at 6 weeks does me and my sisterlocks just fine. No need to over do it and dry my hair and scalp out.
@@Naechine Yes girl you’re fine! Everyone has their preferences. Our hair doesn’t need to be washed so much.

I'm the same way. My loccs are very long

Every 2 weeks in the summer in the spring, fall and winter once a month only because it's cooler outside and take longer to dry 😉
I wear my hair in a protective crochet braids style and I wash my hair every 4-6 weeks. And I moisturize every Monday Wednesday Friday.
I shampoo and interlock my locks every three months hair was down my back in two years and always looks and smell good ppl do to much lol
So what do you put on it in between shampoos?
Every 3 months. In between I use pure aloe rose water and oil. I also use your products spray and shampoo and my loctician has a conditioner spray that is wonderful. Between my locticians products and yours my hair stays smelling great and my scalp never itches.

2 to 3 weeks, it depends on the heat, when i sweat more is 2 weeks, during winter time it is every 3 weeks. I also use a protective hair cap at night
One a week! And maybe a quick rinse midweek depending on how much I’ve been sweating from my workouts!
Whenever it starts to itch, OR when I see a good loc wash day video and get inspired lol.
Every week
I’ve learned to just listen to my hair and scalp. If my locs feel greasy and heavy, and my scalp feels itchy and oily, I know my babies are screaming for a good shower and my scalp is begging for a good cleaning.
Yes! Some peoples locs be STANK!
I agree! Locs are low maintenance, but not THAT low maintenance. We have to cleanse our hair.
Yup. My scalp starts screaming at week three. And my “loctian” told me I can’t shampoo my hair but once a month. Baby I’m a licensed stylist…I know that you need a clean scalp in order for your hair to grow
In Winter, every 1 to 2 mos. Spring Summer every 3wks to a Month. 21yrs and counting. 🎉
Every 2-3 weeks
Do what your hair tells you to do. If its itchy dry and needs to be washed wash it! Do not fallow what other people do with their hair. Your scalp is not the same as someone elses!
Every 1-2 weeks, depending on the amount of exercise I've done during the week.
Religiously every two weeks. My scalp loves and demands it.
I wash before every retie and I retie every 6weeks so once before my retie works for me. Everyone’s scalp is different. When I had loose hair, and used products I washed every two weeks, but now I barely use anything in my hair so Its not needed as often.
I was at a minimum once a week. If there’s a day where I sweat heavy, I’m washing my hair. My scalp appreciates it 😂
I have dreads locks and I do my hair my self every body hair is not the same I shampoo my hair every 2 weeks the most ❤
I will go 1-3 weeks depending on how much I do or get into. It’s usually every 2 weeks unless I get really sweaty multiple times or get into dirtier situations.
Please come back
You telling me people don’t actually do it every 2-3 weeks? 😭 my mom has had locs all my life and that’s what she does, and they’re clean and healthy
Once a month I shampoo my hair. Weekly I soak my low porosity hair in the shower.. apply a leave in and oil it.
Weekly x
Every 2-3 weeks. I had to get use to it.
You are my digital loctitian..
I used to shampoo every 1 to 3 weeks when I was more active. Nowadays I aim to shampoo every 2 to 3 weeks.
I can manage going 3 weeks anything longer and my scalps crying for relief
I was definitely doing once a month but now I’m doing 3 1/2 -weeks max
Once a week. Scalp needs the love asap.
I wash/put some water to my scalp every week, but I only SHAMPOO every 2 weeks. My hair doesn’t get as dry that way. Shampoo every week is rough lol
I do every two weeks. I can’t do. More than that. I work out and my scalp will get itchy AF. I’m only 4 months in so I have to be extra careful.
I used to wash weekly. My locs have length, so it has shifted to 2-3 weeks.

I wash my locs every 2 weeks faithfully
Whenever you feel like it

I shampoo my locs every 2 to 3 weeks. I am trying to get to weekly. But it has not happened consistently yet.
I shampoo every two weeks. I’m very active and workout 5-6days a week and I sweat through my hair, so it’s a must for me!
Once every two weeks 🎉
2-3 weeks for me
About every 3 weeks or so.....but because I sweat a lot I do a water rinse in between washing so I may go a little longer. However I've been listening to my scalp on that wise. When my scalp starts itching I wash within a day or two.

Is every day too much?
Once a month. My Locs are longg!
Every 2 weeks.
Currently, I do mine once a month because, my hair isn’t fully loc’d and it unravels when it’s not in a style. Come tomorrow, I’ll be at the 11 month mark. I could never wait a month I would scratch my scalp clean off.
Once a week because of dandruff and itching
Every five days I love in Jamaica and it's very hot I sweat in my hair
I shampoo every two weeks now that my locs are a bit more mature. They grow faster it seems since they aren’t dirty.
I shampoo every week
Every 3 weeks. If I go longer I get a very itchy scalp (trying to breath) 😂

1x per month
Is a maintenance done 2-3 also or just a shampoo? When is the loc maintenance given?
I do mine once a week
7-10 days depending on my activity level.
I prefer once a week but 2 weeks is the longest I can handle because after that my scalp be screaming for me to clean it
Every two weeks but I really should wash them once a week.
