- Singer/songwriter Eliza Gilkyson wrote Requiem as a song of grief following the Asian tsunami in December 2004, and the song found a renewed audience after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast region. It is now widely performed as a prayer for disaster victims worldwide. The Seattle Choral Company dedicates their first virtual choir recording to the victims of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
A beautiful and moving performance - thank you, Seattle Choral Company
So beautiful I would not be able to keep my composer to sing aloud.
Incredibly beautiful and soul touching...amazing editing!!!!
This performance and video bring out the very best this piece has to offer -- which is a lot. Thank You All!
That was so serene and spiritual. Beautifully produced also. Such a sensitive and touching gesture..
Lovely - well done & thank you.
The singing was so peaceful and the video was beautiful. Well done. I wish I could still be singing with you all.
I sang this piece with the chorus at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp a few years ago. This rendition is beautiful. ❤️
the singing and the video are simply lovely and moving. Thank you SCC.
Nice job! Lovely thought.
Oh, that was so beautiful!
Goosebumps! So beautiful!
Wonderful version! A bit more up-tempo from most other versions I have heard. I performed this song several years ago with my choir in a concert and the audience was very moved, as was the choir.
Perfect except for tempo -
@@gailwjcan agree. Performed this recently for me collegiate choir, and I’d have to say that slowing it down a bit from what we see here helps make it a more emotional peace
Lovely!
Such a beautiful song, it really touched my heart after the loss of a fellow Respiratory Therapist passed away from Covid 19.
