This is from the 1972 documentary Elvis on Tour which followed him through a tour from rehearsals to performances. It shows lots of incredible performances and backstage action. The documentary won a Golden Globe. Highly recommend watching the whole thing. Love how you love Elvis.

Pso, I really enjoy watching your Elvis reactions, I am 63 yrs old, if you really enjoy the Elvis music look up some of the documentaries on him . His lead guitar player James Burton is still living, and Sam Thompson his bodyguard has some wonderful stories. Sam tells a story where they had 40 seconds to get him off the stage and gone, so when they say "Elvis has left the building, he has really left the building 😊

I've loved Elvis' version of this song (written by Oklahoma's own Hoyt Axton) since I first bought the "Elvis As Recorded at Madison Square Garden" album in 1982.
This song was just featured in the series Tulsa King with Sly Stallone.

So glad to javelin you back. This is a great song..this was when je was doing 2 shows a jight in Vegas for 5 weeks then touring until his next vegas engagement. He was so dedicated to his fans and worked hard to give them everything. You should definitely check out Polk Salad Annie live 1970...the energy is amazing and such a fun song. TCB 👑⚡️

You know Whitney Houston's mom is one of his back-up singers, right?
Cissy Houston and her group, The Sweet Inspirations, joined Elvis in July of 1969. She loved working with him but wanted to be home with her children and left when her 5-week contract expired to pursue a solo career. The Sweet Inspirations were with him until his passing in 1977. This video was from 1972.
@@kathifielder1110 Huh...that's interesting. Both Cissy and a very young Whitney give interviews in "Elvis and the Black Community," that made it seem like their association was longer. Plus, I could have sworn I saw her in this clip.
@@yeswe3939 I can see why you'd be confused because Whitney did say in "Elvis and the Black Community" that her mother worked with Elvis for years. Cissy worked with him from July 31st until August 28th of 1969. Whitney turned six years old on August 9th of that year so she was probably too young to remember it correctly. There's an article and interview called "Cissy Houston Remembers Elvis Presley" where she talks about her time with Elvis.
Please just let us watch the video or listen to the song instead of reacting so much. I know Elvis is great, so just sit back and enjoy it first. It's so much more enjoyable.
