You just got a new sub man. Highly informative and truthful video. Appreciate you being transparent. I’m 26 and in Philadelphia. I was literally looking for the last two weeks, into buying a truck. I have a ‘96 F-Super Duty dump truck with a 7.3 turbo. I was considering either converting that into a rollback or selling it, combining it with my savings, then buying a Dually and throwing a wheel lift on it. Really just trying to break into the game and stop working for others.
Yo I appreciate the love fam 🙌🏿 I strongly suggest to do both if you can. The reason why I say that is because the truck insurance as mentioned in the video is going to be very expensive plus you can subsidize the income or lack thereof from starting the new Enterprise with your job. A big thing I would also pay attention to is if you're driving a dump truck you more than likely have a least a class b CDL, you can capitalize on that by getting commercial insurance getting your authority and booking loads directly off load ones. Also you have more control over your schedule but cuz you don't have to wait for somebody to break down to get a call you can pick up and drop off at your discretion via a scheduled contracted account. There's a lot to consider but I highly encourage the journey. Please reach back out to me so how everything goes 🙌🏿✌🏿
@4:30 That's sound advice for business and life always have 6 months of salary saved up for a rough patch. It's not the easiest thing to do but if you take an honest look at your expenses its achievable.
Hey that's incredible I love to hear it! I'm building a course right now if you're interested in how to grow and scale the business shoot me an email @ seasallauto@yahoo.com I'll add you to the list of the first hundred discounts
That’s kind of the problem. I know people who try to do the same thing. It is not easy to juggle. One of the reasons is because towing is sporadic. What happens when you get all your calls one day and you’re on your 9-to-5? For some reason in this industry, it always seems to happen like that 🤷🏿♂️! Another scenario is your equipment brakes do you have a service call to do and you’re supposed to be at work in a few hours?? You just have to be all in or be prepared for those types of situations I promise you they will happen eventually. It can be done just be prepared to make sacrifices and if your determination persist, you’ll be able to quit the job and go full-time if you like. I would suggest getting a second job as a towing operator to even verify you like the industry it’s not like the Internet makes it seem.😅
Yes trying to get in the business in forthworth Tx. It seems to be a good business but just need to know,u have a frt liner paid for and thinking of doing a boom for it,what you think

Amazing advice brother. 👏 ive been in game for years this is solid. Killed the motor club part. I see 75-350$ a lockout. Depending on if its after hours , 18 wheeler etc. I never sign up w motor clubs. Theyll still need you if you established a good enough reputation! When the motor clubs call me, I can charge them according to my pay scale. Or decline the job!
Listen debt free is the way to go in the business but I won't say that it's the smartest way to go with every business once things start rolling if you can get credit to get a nicer newer truck make it work my homie Eli @Towtrucktherapy is a great example of what I mean if you check out his channel you would understand what I'm saying but I'm with you
I just recently purchased a 1996 Ford F450 flatbed/wheel lift from a local auction for a total of $3,000. The registration was $162 and a set of spark plugs about $30. Drove it home listed on craigslist for $9,000 and had a change of mind. Yes it's old and requires a little more maintenance than a new truck, but it makes money and it's paid for.

Buses etc. and a Small little Shop where I do Oil Changes, some Brakes,Tire rotations nothing major. See I was under the Impression that AAAand other Spots like that was the place where the Bread was at!!
Man whoever told you that lied 🤣😂 but don't get it twisted there's money to be made with motorclubs but you have to work the system and you have to be prepared to do a lot of volume to make any money. We can go more in detail with this email me at Seasallauto@yahoo.com
I know this video is old but this may help you and save you thousands. Depending on your credit get an interest free credit card they run for about two years. You can pay big things off and not pay interests. So for example you pay your insurance in full with no interest. That’s gotta be a saving of grands alone. It also gives you freedom as you only have to pay the minimum payment that month if you are short. You have to be very disciplined and good with money to do this strategy and make sure you pay it off before the end of the deal. As they go up to 25%. Hope this helps it will give you that cash buffer you need.
Thank You man. I'm in California. 30 years old. Planning on buying a 30-50K flat bed. Always had a passion for it. I think the market for towing is good. Just doing my research on insurance and LLC at the moment. Thank you for your video. I appreciate you taking the time.
Hey man congratulations 🎉🎂 it's definitely not all rainbows and sunshine but there's a lot of money to be made. What part of California are you in I'm making plug you in with someone who can help on the West Coast I got a couple buddies that live out that way

@@Fasttowpro I dispatch drivers to the scene....now....do they come all the time? No! 😆... The service providers can be mean at times.... But it seems like when you get a contact with those type of companies.. they don't pay as much... I always tell the drivers if they need more money... Just call so we can add it to the PO... Some do and some don't.... The ones that do....make a pretty decent amount...
@@abeautifulleogoddess9300 that's what I'm talking about well at that point you just have to figure out what side is better for you because I talked to dispatchers all the time and I hear horror stories but I also hear a very pleasant stories with dogs barking in the back because they're working from home so it really depends on where you want to be. There are pros and cons to contracting with companies I'll have a video coming out about that soon and of course so stay locked if you're not subscribed go ahead and hit that button and when it comes out you will see what I mean but if you're already on that side then you just got to get to the other side of the coin to see it from the contractor perspective it's definitely a different world
@@Fasttowpro ok so I've been doing more research and I wanted to run an idea by you if you have time.... I am thinking .. I can take my taxes and buy a really good jump box... Battery kit and a lock out kit and start there... I know just by doing the dispatch that some SP's don't tow... They just do the lockouts/tires/ battery jump... I can get a contract with my company.. triple A and other tow companies who need a person to do the other things besides tow... I think if I start there... That would be easier and cheaper .. because this is something I'm doing on my own... And Im really trying to figure out the best ways and the most realistic way to go about it... Idk... Tell me what you think? I know once I buy these items... If have to get a license right and a company name and then go get the contracts???
The cost of just owning a tow truck is crazy Especially if you're to finance a new truck Most flat beds are above 100k Insurance is 1k-1500$ monthly Plus the cost of fuel and maintenance Every month
Listen bro I already know people don't believe it I have a buddy that's local who wants to start a towing company and I told him he's better off starting the ice cream shop at least you can stay cool people look forward to seeing them and the overhead is lower 😂

Very good information, in fact, even for my old ass! I started a mobile mechanic business a few years back but it seemed all I got for business was friends and relatives, and you know what that means! So I stopped that endeavor. I've also towed most of my life and have wondered about starting my own towing service? When you mention the towing clubs, nothing could be further from the truth, they are "NOT YOUR FRIENDS"!
That's the message that needs to be spread across the masses don't get me wrong you can definitely make money with them but you're going to run a lot less money 🤑
I had to step back a bit from the mobile mechanic business. For a while, I was only getting the hard jobs which take up too much time. Now I aim to finish a job within two hours. Anything longer is not worth it to me. I want to get in and out. I did buy an old roll back (1980 Ford F350 w/460) for junk cars, flips and projects cars. I can tow someone if needed. The dream is to go legit and have a small repair shop with a large parking lot. You can do easy repairs, sell used tires and tow cars when needed. Then get a dealers license to sell cars. Gotta have multiple revenue streams.
@@joeblack007 you can make it happen man there's no problem but it does take capital and take time keep going for it if you do make it happen please update me I love to check it out
Thank you for this great video. I have thought many times about going into the towing business . You gave great advice about having a money reserve saved , before starting. I have been in search for a Chevrolet dually but not sure about getting it with a gasoline engine or a diesel . I'm more familiar with the gasoline engine and never owned a diesel automobile. I've heard that diesels pull better under load , than gasoline but i don't have experience with diesel engines. I'll probably buy the gasoline dually , in the end . I have decided to pursue a different business involving automobiles because I believe , I would enjoy it better. The business will be debt free from the beginning. Thank you again for the advice.
Peace King, soak up all the game you can from AAA it works the same way in the real world besides the amount of cars you may get depending on if your contracted or not. I would love a wrecker I haven't gotten one yet but it's on the list of things to buy I'm going to tap in soon. Shot me an email at seasallauto@yahoo.com and let's chop it up
@@Fasttowpro definitely will brother! And you’ll get one you have so much drive bro! Shoot after binge watching your videos you gave me motivation to start working towards making my own mobile service and light repair business! I’ve always thought about it but you made me realize it’s possible even with a small budget
Been thinking of doing my own thing one day eventually. Currently drive a 4 car rollback for a big company, beats doing roadside assistance for the company I started at. But want my own truck, appreciate the advice here. Also, I love the Ford 6.9/7.3 IDI engines, they are slow but reliable with having almost no electronics to run it.
Hey what company do you work for? Also what makes you want to go out on your own versus just staying? There's a lot that goes into it but it's definitely possible I am living proof for more information let's set up a consultation email me at Seasallauto@yahoo.com
Id rather not say the company name because I see too many people getting let go over silly stuff like this comment but it is a great company so far and no current desire to leave. But it is a big used car dealer in America. Pay is hourly, but good. allowed me to get my CDL with their truck. The reason I want o go out on my own is probably for the freedom. I know its not easy, but I feel like my hard work would pay off better if it was for myself rather than a large corporation. I previously worked for AAA, directly not as a contractor, and that is where I got my start. I really enjoyed the work but I did not enjoy the management style, epically after being promoted into it. I don't miss calls on the side of the interstate though that's for sure. Right now isn't the right time for me to branch out on my own due to the price of fuel and trucks epically but also the cost of land. Like you said starting out with your own lot would be a big advantage. It will be a few years, and it might never actually happen but I feel like it is an obtainable goal.
@@QuesoPants I completely understand your perspective and I can tell you you're actually at an advantage. If I could start over with what I know now I would be a lot bigger than I am right now literally in every sense. There's a lot of factors you have to ask yourself and I can tell you they're always seems to be a bad time and a good time to start something but there's no time like the present. It all depends on how you want to go about being in it. Don't say it will never happen just make a plan map it out and stick to that plan I promise you it'll work out even if it doesn't happen exactly the way that you had anticipated at least you will find your target. Trust me there is no freedom literally at all 😂 to me it's worth it I love it but I will also say there's a lot of other ways to make money out here call me a lot. @@Fasttowpro same bro I'm always looking in the mirrors the other day I had a dollie blow out while towing an f150 the potholes on the freeway combined with small tires and weight are not a good combo been dolling on the streets multiple times a day no problem , on dollies it's best to take the street even though it might take a while more than freeway
@@BayAreaWrecker for sure I'll throw a set of dollies on in a heartbeat but it is nicer to have the flatbed get all four wheels off the ground It's just harder with tight spaces and when a heavier truck or car it takes away the sketchiness. But run what you brung 🙌🏿✌🏿💪🏿
@@Fasttowpro to be fair the dollies allow wreckers to get cars out of tight spots where they call us instead of the flatbed , plus a boom ,many times I've been called because a flat bed couldn't do the job long distance I guess the flatbed wins and maybe lowered cars but other wise a wrecker can get it done ,mine uses l arms so it takes a bit but man am I glad Its given me experience on the towing biz
@@BayAreaWrecker for sure I think that's one of the main disadvantages of having a record with dollies is you don't usually use those on long-distance trips. And I like the manual l arms but I really like my self loader 😅 either one will work it all depends on what area you are and what you're doing Good commentary though
Had to park both my trucks last September due to high insurance and no calls coming in. Thank goodness my equipment is paid off. Have a 97 turbo diesel superduty with 19 foot rollback and a 2000 chevy 3500 with a twin line wrecker and wheel lift. Was doing good until this pandemic hit.
That white truck is the style I’m looking for. The Powerstroke version. I won’t get an IDI. We only do roadside at the moment. Waiting on a truck. Our insurance for all that is only 90 a month. It’s only gonna go up a bit here soon. But not much.
Man that's cheap😂😊 I'm super happy you for and would like to talk more about your location and possibilities of growth for your company. I love the roadside portion of the business. @@Fasttowpro definitely. More money, more problems. It’s just find a balance and making sure to stay on top of what you can to minimize problems. As much as you can anyway.
You know I heard about that way after the fact and I wish I would have known. There's definitely a tough period it's still technically not the same as it was before this whole thing happened
@@Fasttowpro also look at getting an insurance agent. Originally I was paying just over 18k a year on insurance through progressive with on hook. My insurance agent was able to get me down to 7k a year. They know loopholes and are able to give better rates
Well it's logic, look up Newtons laws of motion. Then come back and listen to the video again. This is is why the $50 tow guy goes out of business, you constantly have to count the cost. It's actually fascinating, think of like this. If you go get some food from a restaurant there is a cost associated with every aspect of it. The ketchup, salt, pepper ect. It's extremely similar. Good question 💪🏿

@@Fasttowpro lol I thought you was being a smart ass my bad. I was looking this stuff up because I was trying to start a towing business but it seems as though it might be a bad idea because I don’t even understand the simple concepts. Might just have to pass on this business honestly
@@MamasHotpocket2 Don't worry I know text messages can be a little bit misleading versus talking. So no hard feelings over here. But yes, It's an extremely lucrative business but is very cutthroat, It's very demanding, and is very expensive to run. I don't think it's a bad business idea or a concept henceforth why I'm still in it. But I will say there are a lot other ways that are quicker and cheaper to be profitable in. With anything and everything it takes action for a action to happen. I offer a consultation to answer your needs before getting into the space. If you really want to invest in towing I say start by investing in yourself which is what you're starting to do now but don't stop until you have the answers that you're looking for and then you will discover something that you didn't even think to ask. If you would like to tap in just let me know I'll send you a link and we can book a call 🙌🏿✌🏿
Hey that's out front your policy payment will start that next month. For instance with my current policy I paid $7k to $10k upfront ( I have to look at my records for the exact number) and let's say that was in January, my payment was due February 1st. It's crazy and every year you have to re put up a large down payment to keep your policy active with most companies. If you don't believe me ask any towing provider or call your local insurance company with the VIN number to a tow truck and ask them how much it is to get commercial insurance. There are tiers to this and it's cheaper depending on how much coverage you need of course. But yes that's just up front not for the entire 12 month policy
Good advice for those starting out. But motor clubs can work if your in position. I started just doing roadside and got into towing 5 years in business. We’re 95% motor clubs and it works for my business because I understand how to manipulate my rates with them and also I don’t need to live on the money the trucks earn. Also anyone starting out should find a good lead generation company in there area and learn to use AD words.
That's very good insight and I'm very mixed in between it I hear people who are absolutely crushing it in that space. On the other hand I know companies who have went out of business because of it. Less discuss it more shoot me an email over at Seasallauto@yahoo.com let's chop it up
Thanks brother for this video..I have a transportation company, Dot & Mc number for a year and half. I have been doing all over the road with my 26ft box truck But I would like to extend my business in towing ,So I can be around my family..Do you I need anything else to start with towing illegal cars?
Hey thanks for the comment! The transportation game is so different and insurance companies will be quick to let you know that. I have a DOT number but not an MC number so you can cross state lines but that's not always necessary in the towing game unless you're doing transportation of course. I have a video coming out about that and it will explain the difference between transportation like hot shotting versus towing because it's literally a night and day difference and insurance companies charge you differently because of what you're doing. Shoot me an email and let's get more specific and I'll see if I can help you seasallauto@yahoo.com

I have my Roadside Service LLC its not hard to start the main thing is register your with your local city hall advertise your business in the local that's a requirement we're im at in los angles got get your business license , most importantly is the insurance If you don't have experience working on cars if you don't have experience working on cars the underwriter will not insure you for the contracts you will need to start your Roadside business the main thing is you have to have a plan anybody can start up a Roadside Service but without a plan you will Goin in circles . Get you a service Van and the tools you need to get is very important good luck with starting your business 👍
I turned down maybe 10 of those before buying my Ford not that they're not good but nobody recommended it to me especially because there's not a dealership for a hundred miles of where my location is. I wish I had better advice for that but I honestly don't but I definitely wish you the very best of luck 🙌🏿
Man I just got into the towing game. I'm making 1200 a day and I'm still not happy. I got alot of time down in the morning. I need to fill that somehow and make money during that time too. I've had 2k days too like today 1700. I feel like I could make more ...
It depends on your monetary status I don't think it's a bad idea it's no different than anything else if you hold the note you hold the power. The problem is trucks break especially when they used for something like Towing. With that you have to have a very good wrist tolerance to weather the storm of the towing industry. Don't get me wrong there's plenty of money to be made interest is interesting. Just be safe with it. If I had a dealer's license I would jump on it all day long because then there's legal bonding contracts and the ability to repossess for non-payment. In the private sector you can still write a contract but there is a good opportunity for that person to dip out without paying or repercussions. Either way make it happen if you feel that that's the move for you my bank account is personally not set up like that 😅 not yet at least

Ive been thinking about getting into towing, but id have to keep my day time job, the insurance part is what scares me.

Thanks for the tips. I’m looking for a truck

Especially that you have a CDL 😲 yeah man as far as transportation service goes the sky's the limit for you. Like I said we can come up with a game plan shoot you over more information on what I would have did to be able to scale faster just shoot me an email seasallauto@yahoo.com
The snatch truck cost more to run and maintain.
That's a very good thing to bring up .. how do you figure is more expensive?
I drive a ram 5500 towed my first 2500 I thought the thing was gonna snapp the dollies right off
Very good observation anything Dodge is heavy I don't care if it's a 1500 every time I've told one I've watched my trucks sway lol
What do you mean it cost you to crank up the truck?
Well it's logic, look up Newtons laws of motion. Then come back and listen to the video again. This is is why the $50 tow guy goes out of business, you constantly have to count the cost. It's actually fascinating, think of like this. If you go get some food from a restaurant there is a cost associated with every aspect of it. The ketchup, salt, pepper ect. It's extremely similar. 7 to 10.000$ up front for insurance or in a 12 month policy

Hey I am trying to start-up towing business. I'm interested in getting a mentor but i don't know how to get one.

Money ain't everything but it's better to have it than not 😂 let's see if we can make a plan to bring that up
Very good points made what is your take on funding groups for buying trucks?
Good info bro

Would you recommend a wrecker or a flat bed for a first tow truck?
I started off with a flatbed and it helped me but I can't say what's better to start off with. It really depends on what you're trying to do and the area that you're in now that I have both, how much prefer the wrecker
Any word on Isuzu turbo diesel flat beds?? Good ? Bad?
This is the type of stuff I kept finding I did not post all the NPR's that I looked at but this was literally how it would be and I would drive 2 hours to go check it out and only find out it was trash. ua-cam.com/video/xPSj-EwNZzs/v-deo.html
Can’t you run “not for hire” on the side and only accept tips or cash?
It's super illegal and I would not recommend it because of so many different reasons but you have to do what's best for you just know it's extremely risky and again I would not recommend it
what state do you run in? your insurance is high
What’s up bro respects from cali , what towing forums are u a part of ? I’m interested I have been searching for them
I'm glad you asked I made a video about this that I haven't posted yet shoot me an email over at Seasallauto@yahoo.com and I would love to share the information and greetings from Florida what part of Cali are you in
#1 is on point. #2 ummm every tow truck is a dually.
He was talking about choosing between a repo truck and a I guess “standard” tow truck. He said somewhere in the video “snatch truck” that’s what he wanted
@@Mydrivehome104 I get that but any vehicle that will lift and tow needs to be a dual rear wheel for weight
What’s the Intro song name?
Hey sorry for the late response but that's actually a song that I created but never put out it's exclusive just to my channel 🙌🏿
