I've owned quite a few Omega quartz watches over the years and my current one is a 2221.80. I'm with you brother, the old Omega quartz divers are iconic pieces. But sadly, Omega will never bring them back, as they've totally committed to "luxury" mechanical watches. And so my old 2221.80 will proudly live next to my Grand Seiko HAQ in my collection.
I purchased the 2018 'blue' 42 mm on bracelet 18 months ago. I absolutely love the bracelet and the clasp. Even on my 6.5 wrist it looks cool! I'm a big 'Bond' fan and there was no way I could afford one back in 1993 with a young family. I also own a reduced Speedmaster which I now wear on a sail cloth strap and a NTTD on mesh. I also have the NTTD NATO strap but prefer the mesh bracelet. All are keepers! I wear them in rotation with a couple of Rolex watches. I love the Batgirl but I'm not a fan of the jubilee bracelet.
I have one of these little guys in black with a first gen coaxial movement in desperate need of a service. I've always liked quartz Omega though - the independent hour hand is super convenient!
@emhezmfe The jumping hour hand that he mentioned in the video. When you pull the crown to where you normally set the date, instead it jumps the hour hand like a GMT. Super useful for travel.
I’ve had mine since 2002 same size it’s been great only 2 issues with it the bracelet is very difficult to size due the split pin design also my quick hour/date set has stopped working at some point I either wear on a nato or a mesh
Sounds like it's been worn well. I agree with the pin and collar sizing challenge with the bracelet. It's a nuisance, and they can loosen after a few years too.
I have the electric ⚡️ blue dial, 40mm and wife has matching 36mm, they are perfect travel watches, it wears bigger and feels fantastic on the wrist (2265.80)
Love the design of the Seamaster. Think it is a do anything watch really. Can wear in any occasion, and the bracelet for me gives it a little bit of pizazz.
36mm is about perfect for most men, big'ol watches are exactly that at this stage. Old fashioned, I feel we rode the wave of big wathes and we are again down to more sensible and elegant sizes. And I have a quartz DeVille with a jumping hour hand and it is hugely useful! All quartz watches should have that feature.
you've had this for some 15 years? looks amazing, i think you said it's been on someone's wrist daily for that long, wasn't sure if you were referring to yourself
I would buy it, but without half links and micro adjusts, I wouldn’t get the precise fit I desire. I’d like omega to release an SMP 300 with a case width of 38mm to 40mm. Tried on the 42mm at the AD. Too big. Didn’t like the 41mm Heritage 300 either
I have the 36mm quartz 2562.80, it's the polished steel bezel version. Wear it more than my Tudor - you have a respected brand in Omega, reliablity and accuracy of quartz, and 36mm wears great.
Hello Random watch dude, I am very surprised that as an Omega fan boy that you have not bothered to make peace with some of the newer models from the Seamaster line and collect them; This 36mm Quartz, there is a 40 or 41mm transition model, the black one will be perfect in your collection as well as the current black model; anyways, I know what it is like to be an individual and have your own quirks, however, they are on my list because they will be great pieces of history later on and they are actually good looking watches at great prices from a brand that is at the very top.
Looks like an awesome watch, wouldn't mind buying a used one, I only own Quartz watches because of there accuracy, would you know the accuracy of your Omega Seamaster ?
The quartz accuracy is obviously spot-on, and my automatic 2254.50 is running at -2 sec per day. That's fine with me, but still not as good as a quartz!
I agree about a quartz & size ( not too thick is it?) reissue ( also for Aqua Terra) . I read/saw ( UA-cam) that Omega sells ,& invested so much into , the co- axial & charge more for it as it's more impressive to the average buyer as quartz, that has a cheap reputation(? ) . Also, it differentiates it from you know who. Also, the Duke of Cambridge wears this watch as it was his mum's.
I have the exact same watch ! I bought it 2 months ago (2007 with box and all paperwork 😉) love it ❤️ as I have a 6.5” wrist it’s perfect. Tried the 41mm and too big for me 👊
Are you in UK? I have 2x GgoldenEye Seamaster Quartz one worn for 25 years daily the other mint with tags. If you're in UK i'd be happy to lend them for a video
All about wrist size. I bought the original tried on the 41mm and was far too big for my wrist. The price difference was very minimal. I think i paid £865 for the 36mm from a boutique. Would love to try to buy any model from an official dealer for that money. Still have it works great. Lume is crap, always was. Movement is bulletproof. Still baby it somewhat.
IMO, too small for a male's standard size wrist aka 7in +/-. 40-42mm is perfect size...or just a hint smaller. Depends on lug to lug. Cheers. PS. I vastly prefer Quartz to mechanical movements.

Great video. Nice piece. I have the 2222.80 Reissue. I wouldn't trade it for all the money in the world! Almost. CoAxial! 36mm. Its damn near perfect.
Thanks! the 36mm Daniel Craig auto is a killer watch. That was the best 36mm of them all!
36mm is the best size for a watch IMO. It’s classy without being too small and not overly big like 40mm and up watches.
I have the automatic version with the black dial , 36 mm perfect size imo
Very nice watch. The dial color is also a litle bit lichter then the 2531 dial.
I’ve got the black dial version in 36mm. It’s perfect
I have a 6.5 inch wrist and this is the perfect size for me. I have a 1998 model. Great video 😊
Thank you, and the 36mm is a great size for almost any size wrist except very large 😀

I think you're right that Omega won't have the courage to release quartz again. It would have to be cheaper, and that would mean price reductions!!
My watch, except mine is automatic, and is my all time favorite watch. Such a classic.

Great collection and it's nice to have watches that resonate with another interest. which is why I love the Bond watches, like you, as a Bond fan.
I have this same model watch. It’s my everyday watch it’s a perfect size looks/fits more like a 38mm
I too am a Bond nerd. I own a 36mm automatic seamaster and I love it! My only beef with it is how difficult the bezel is to turn.
Knew someone with this watch. Upgraded decades later to the two tone version. That’s a rare watch (on YT at least)
I have one of these little guys in black with a first gen coaxial movement in desperate need of a service. I've always liked quartz Omega though - the independent hour hand is super convenient!
what do you mean independent hour hand?

I have a modern SMP but I love these old references.

Great combination! And I agree that they do wear so cosy on the wrist, you forget you have a watch on!
I have the black dial 41mm version. Still going strong

Agreed, the jumping hour hand is such a practical feature, especially for travel
you've had this for some 15 years? looks amazing, i think you said it's been on someone's wrist daily for that long, wasn't sure if you were referring to yourself
I've owned it for the last 4 years, and prior to that it was someone else's daily too. Battery change and seals replaced every 4 years or so.

I think it has half links but no micro adjust. I agree that the newer 41mm models are quite chunky, and I would love to see them reduce the thickness

Couldn't agree more. Perfection!

Congratulations it's a terrific watch
The GMTs are not $20k. The BLNR and BLRO are $10,900 USD. The VNTR is only $11,400.
I am in New Zealand and was referring to New Zealand dollars. Talking currency can get confusing on a global platform!
For how much can you find these?
I have the 120M Seamaster quartz and it’s the perfect GADA watch.
Yes that's such a nice easy watch to wear all the time
Are you in UK? I have 2x GgoldenEye Seamaster Quartz one worn for 25 years daily the other mint with tags. If you're in UK i'd be happy to lend them for a video
Thank you for the very kind offer. I am in New Zealand so a bit too far for me to come and pick them up!
Nice! 👍

bulletproof is not an exaggeration with this model!
I need 42
Please give it some love… send it to omega for some polish

36mm is a womans watch. This small watch size hype for men is ridiculous
