Showing up in the work uniform with goth makeup on and saying "sorry I just got off work so I had to do my makeup in the car" is the most relatable thing I've ever seen
Not gonna lie, I always thought "Circe Nightshade" and "Azrael Abyss" were actually both legitimately cool goth names.

In my 20s, I dated a woman who was a former high school Goth like in the show. Somebody asked her once, "Is it really like this?" She would sigh and pause, but eventually say "Yes..."
Goth Talk was such a great sketch concept. The fact that it all took place in Florida made it even better.

@@triggerwarning3010 Yup. My wife lived down the block from him in Coral Springs, FL and he went to Broward community college as a journalism student. Basically he gave up writing but wanted to try his hand at music. He knew he wasn't very good at the time so he formed the spooky kids. They kinda sucked so he had to put on a theatrical shock show. Good for him, it worked out.
It makes me feel very verklempt though. They can talk amongst themselves...

Christina Ricci herself is not goth and never actually was. The roles that came to her were more gothic and fringe because of the way she looked but she’s actually like a really cutesy person

Maybe Charlotte Sometimes by the cure would have been a good choice too, but "Bela Lugosi's dead " was definitely a nice surprise . Oh Ubiquitous mr. Lovegrove by Dead can dance would have also worked, I think..
@@justagirlandherphone there was an article a couple of years ago about how the youngsters who were the Joy Division album cover tshirt really don't listen to JD because most of them are turned off by the name Joy Division because when look it up on wikipedia;they find out that joy Division was the name for the sex slave trade department of the Nazi party so they're immediately turned off by it and dont even bother listening to their music and have no idea what or how that little band from Manchester influenced the " goth bands " they listen to right now decades later!

Goth Talk and Mango were the only reasons I watched SNL. As someone who loved goth back then and still loves it, it cracked me tf up, but also appreciate the hell that they actually used goth music and did the hair, makeup, and clothes really well.

Why aren’t there more Goth Talk sketches on UA-cam!? This was one of my favorite sketches, especially the Sarah Michelle Gellar hosted one.
There are a few on the NBC app. Plus the Blair Witch one that they did later which is absolutely hysterical.
I'm wondering if if might be a rights issue since the "Goth Talk" sketch they put on the NBC site completely altered all of the music.

in the 80s i was having a great time, but in the 90s i was completely embarrassed by what had become of the goth scene. but one saturday i was over at my best friends house all done up and getting ready to go to the club when his sister called us into the living room and said you have to see this. it was the first time we had ever heard of Goth Talk, i forgte if it was the one with Rob Lowe or Jeff Goldblum as it seems like we saw one that week then the next week the same thing happened with the other one. but we were laughing our asses off, it reminded me so much of John Koviak and that whole Propaganda magazine scene.

This was my favorite episode. This was such a funny skit.
