I have seen aurora multiple times across 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 and 🇮🇸 but none like the one in your video. Your video teleported me back to Senja and I can't wait to go back again. Thank you for sharing this awesome content 👍
This is magical! I absolutely love this video! In fact, I love videos where you travel alot, vlog style. It's fun!!! This is definitely on my bucketlist❤
That was incredible. I have never seen the aurora like that. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing. I also wish to thank you for the pre-sets. They were recommended to me and I bought them. Worth every penny. They are superb. Thank you. 👍👍👍
WOW! Absolutely breath taking & beautiful! Thank you for sharing! I didn't realize the starts twinkled so much up there. I've never seen that before! 💖👍
Alyn, this was not just a video, this was an experience. I am so grateful you shared this with us. Truly one of the most remarkable videos I've ever seen. Your work never fails to impress me. Keep it up, Alyn.
WOW!!! holy $hit, thank you for bringing us along on this. This is true bucket list for me!, I don't think I have seen video as good of it anywhere else. The pictures you have posted so far are amazing and I cannot wait to see the next part.
You've got this canny knack of pushing the boundaries of your work Alyn and this was no exception. Such an incredible experience watching it so cant imagine what it must have been like seeing it happen before your eyes. Keep excelling in your work as your talent and ability will take you far
Brilliant vlog. You 2 are awesome. You are like the Ant and Dec in the astro game 🤣 minus the drinking part. Your excitement is infectious. Looks like you had a great trip!
I'm telling you Alyn. That was the most insane video I have have every seen. The Aurora looked like it was a living breathing entity from space. I love the fact that you guys where dropping f bombs in amazement. You're so lucky to have recorded that time in history. That is a moment you and the rest of us will never forget . Thank You giving it to us.
Hahah, that was pretty epic! I'm so happy for you to be there while the Aurora really shows herself from the best possible way :) Awesome video. Thank you
Oh I Love the video, I'm going next wednesday to Aurora Borealis Observatory but only with 360 degrees cameras video, any advice with the configuration? thanks.
Hi Alyn. WOW !! How on earth do you keep your sh*t together enough to take images with all that wonderful stuff going on? Huge respect buddy ! Loved every second of this video Alyn - can't wait for part two. Many thanks for sharing.
That was some great video you got there! Looking forward to next part. I actually grew up on Senja, so I saw a lot of Aurora growing up :-) Though didn't have a photography interest at the time, so no pictures of it. The observatory wasn't there at that time, but looking it up now it seems it's located only about 10 minutes drive from where I grew up! You're making me want to make a return visit :-)
Ah wow that's amazing! I would have loved to have grown up under the lights :) Yes the observatory is quite new, only this year they started taking guests
@@AlynWallace The downside of living there was that there were a couple of months of the year with no sun, only darkness. Well good for star and aurora observation :-) But a bit depressing living in total darkness. And unfortunately it was the part of the year when the galactic center is not visible. On the other hand in summer, the sun never set, and you had beautiful sunset conditions lasting for hours. So well worth a visit in the summer too :-) But then it was too bright too see the Milky way
real time aurora photography wins for me over the time-lapse - just seeing the difference. The real time has an energy and presence that feels quite serene - and there is a feeling of it 'breathing' - It feels somehow 'conscious'
Absolute stunner.....! Never knew it got so bright!!!! Alyn, what gloves are you using, please? I want a good pair that I can pull the finger and thumb back, like those ones!!
This video was absolutely amazing ❣️ The Aurora was pulchritudinous. Kudos to you man like it was fucking -25 and still you look fresh enough to take those time lapses! The time lapse at that bridge was absolutely amazing, loved it man. Hope to see what's next! Peace🤘☮️
amazing, perhaps one day i well get a chance see and photography the aurora like this, thanks, you probably won't believe me that i did see aurora in cornwall years ago 👍
That was insane bro!!!! Loving that composition too :) Also...a magnetometer...never knew that instrument existed! Apparently there’s an app for it too... I think Senja just overtook Iceland for my 1st Aurora hunting experience...only 10-12 months to wait :(lol
It's a beautiful place man and definitely way more quiet than Iceland! I'm there next month and somewhat not excited as its such a bloody tourist hotspot now
Alyn Wallace I’ve heard it’s getting like that now...I blame all these bloody photographers showing vids of how cool it is!haha! When I go I’m planning to hire a 4x4 with roof tent and just go off on my own 👍🏼
It is one of my dreams to photograph the Aurora but I'm pretty sure that when I go to Norway or Iceland there won't be any Aurora for a week or so. I've been trying to photograph the Geminids for 4 years now but it is always to clouded exactly the days around peak. I don't see my luck changing ^^
@@AlynWallace joust bought myself a star tracker , now only have to wait for it to show up in post and some good weather in UK - hopefully we meet again smwhere :)
Oh WOW sweet life you guys have amazing channel Babys will be born with down jackets lol. Your adventures are a fantastic treat to our eyes. Yippee !!🏂☃️❄
I'm going to the observatory to shoot the araura. You commented your magnetometer told you the araura was about to erupt. I don't know about this can you expand on it v
Is it still possible to see this amount of northern lights during the Autumn of this year? I heard there will be less amount of solar wind reaching the least in 2020
It depends on your location you would stay to watch. There is a solar cycle 11 years long. The last solar maximum was in 2014; the next is expected around 2025. Best time is dark moon in march. Have a look to www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast there you could find forecast (next hours, next days, next 27 days) and could read answers to the important questions of "Viewing the Aurora" and "Science of the Aurora" (everything short explained). @alyn what kind of forecast do you use? is somewhere a forecast from norway scienes?
Incredible, what sort of setting do you have to use to capture decent pictures of Aurora Borealis? I would assume you would have to lower you shutter speed because normally its around 20 seconds (depending on focal length) I'm really interested as its such a unique thing to capture. Great video
Yup shutter speed can be 10-15 seconds if the aurora is faint and not moving much but when it starts to move and dance you can sometimes come down to 1-second! (As long as you have a fast lens like f/1.4)
@@AlynWallace nice. I picked up a sigma 24mm f1.4 on eBay for pretty cheap so sounds like it would be ideal. We are planning a trip later in the year so I hope to capture something.
I have never seen the aurora in real time. I had no idea it can move this fast. Absolutely amazing.
Yup, sometimes you just have a slow waving arc but when a substorm erupts is can dance like a tango!
Same here I was amazed at how fast it was moving!
How amazing 😍
OMG, Ammmmmazzzzzing . Thank you for sharing this video. Very motivating to travel there soon.
