Hi Alyn, great pictures and time lapse. The same night I went to Mt Rainier Washington state and got a great Milky Way Pano and got two of the meteor pictures. One meteor went almost all the way across the frame and from my perspective looked like it went right through Jupiter. Take care, Bill.🤩
Alyn, your attention to duty to get those images is awesome. Your photography is top shelf and never fails to impress You are a master of a very difficult art More please take care
I love your vlogs and your images are just amazing, it made me laugh that you sacked it just as the sun was rising and most landscape photographers are just getting started 😁
Another Awesome vlog Alyn. Love the new intro, shows thw master at work! The lenths you go to get the right image are incredible, but well worth it and sets you apart from most. Wonderful set of shots, time lapse, star trail & milky way shot are all breathtaking. Thanks & ATB.
Wow Alyn that was amazing work and I just love your time lapse work. It was a great bank holiday for clear skies and I was lucky to get a shot of it at Alwen res not too mention meeting some new found fellow photographers there. Can’t wait for your next video.
Fantastic vlog. Hopefully the location stays a secret for you! I managed to get out to the lakes on the bank holiday weekend and expected to be bumping shoulders but didnt see a soul! Apologies!! for nagging about the filter. Didnt realise many others were to ha. Thanks for the info tho. 🙃
Absolutely epic and stunning. You are the Thomas Heaton for Astrophotography. Have to join you on one of your upcoming workshops. Signed up already on your mailing list.
Absolute belter!! Loved that brief moment in the timelapse when Jupiter reflected in a rock pool before the tide came in further. Glad you mentioned withholding images from social media too... just this afternoon I stopped wrestling with an edit I wasn’t happy with, that I was trying to make good just for ‘something’ to share. Unnecessary!!!
your freakin crazy...crazy good.. love the shots and time lapse it was killer how the MW was moving from left to right and the tide moving in from right to left made for great balance through the time lapse great job
Hi Alyn. Epic vlog !! Glad you got the image you'd waited for - it's a stunner ! So much to like from this video Alyn. The time-lapse is fantastic and the update on the filter is great news! I think I've got a fair idea of your location but I won't be going there with that drop involved. I'm too old for the risky stuff now but credit to you for braving it. Looking forward to the stacking video. Loved this vlog Alyn. Many thanks for sharing.
Photos, timelapse and star trail image all stunning! Mind you, I'd be happy with a shot half as good as your one form a few years ago ;) Great stuff Alyn 👌
INCREDIABLE work..stunning..THANK YOU for sharing..so it looks like the "built in Intervalometer" worked out?? Looking forward to the video on how it all came together..you as, well enjoy the night skies!
First of all thanks for another great video! Also thanks for mentioning the Eta Aquariids meteor shower. I was out timelapsing on the 6th or 7th and got a a good few meteors at around the end of nautical twighlight. Seems like I got luckier this time since time I'm based much further south smack bang in the middle of the Mediterranean sea
A very moving timelaps and beautiful pictures. I like the colours that you got in the starts on the start trail photo. Is there a master's trick that you can inform us to get colours in the starts as vivid as you got here?
Really awesome timelapse. Sadly I didn't get to photograph the milky way in the past moon window, because of a combination of weather and work... I'm hoping for better weather in two weeks.
Love the vlog and I learn something every time you post. I take pictures, but I'm no photographer and aspire to be one in the future. I do know about tides and man you are in a pickle which you most likely know already. if you are looking for higher tides you need a fuller moon which plagues you with light pollution. you can look online for tidal predictions for the area you want to photo to find the best compromise of tide, time of day and moon phase. its definitely going to limit your opportunities. I'm not familiar with your area so in the end it might not matter if your tidal movement is only 4.5ft between hi and low tides like in Houston, Tx unlike Cook Inlet, Alaska where you have over 30ft movement. Clear Skies and High Tides to you my friend. Awesome shot no matter tide BTW.
Really enjoy your vids Alyn. I'm based just across the water from you in N Devon. How much better at astro is the A7iii over the A6300 apsc? Thinking of upgrading. Many thanks.
Stunning images and footage Alyn and had a chuckle as I was thinking about your filter release then you spoke about it. In terms of modifying you camera, did you do this yourself or did you send it off to a company to do the work? Class episode and thanks for sharing
Fantastic and love the time-lapse. I am just trying to figure out your interval time? How did you manage to get a time-lapse sequence and a star trail sequence? Did you shoot them all at 20 sec exposure time and a 21 second interval? Would love to give this a try so any guidance appreciated :)
Hello Alyn! Huge fan here! Love your content! I have a question! What are the best settings for astro timelapse? Do i have to keep it short but high iso or stop down for sharp but longer time? I have Sony A7 (MR I) and Samyang 24mm 1.5 .Thanks
I've recently discovered your inspiring and addictive videos, so well done! Many questions come to mind but I'll contain myself to one. Regarding camping in Wales, is there any wildlife of concern? Here in Canada it would vary by location but for me, it's mainly black bear and coyotes.
Amazing mate. Love your channel. I like astronomy but know nothing about photography and it's never appealed to me before but your videos have flicked a switch so thanks. I live in a small village and there's not alot of light pollution but I've still never seen a sky like this before. Is it possible to see the milky way without a camera or do you need a good camera or telescope? Lol
Not to be cliché; but was pretty Epic! You are the vampire astrophotographer. One question; did the A7sii get the intervalometer in the firmware upgrade?
How dark are the skies at this location? Eg Bortle scale? Also, any chance you could do a video about identifying the various non-astronomical phenomena which show up in astro photography? I'd love some guidance for distinguishing satellites, aircraft, meteors, etc, as I've been surprised by how many show up in time-lapses.
Alyn your photos just go to show what a beautiful planet we live on even if we cant see it with our naked eyes loving your work bro you have pure passion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯♥
That was pure quality. The effort that you put into your photography is huge and you deserve every star you capture on your camera, Alyn.
Awesome results Alyn! The tide coming in during the time lapse was the cherry on top!
I am half Welsh and am fascinated with astronomy.Your photos are amazing.
The MilkyWay is BEAUTIFUL!!! SO DREAMY!! Cooool stuff Alyn

Could you share the time-lapse setup please. Or maybe a video on doing a time-lapse like in this video. Thanks.

Loved the timelapse and the images 😍
Also, with the new Sony timelapse feature the Disp button works while shooting. So you can switch the display off to save some battery power.
Oh my god! That timelapse was insane.
great work
Awesome
Another cracking video Alyn. The timelapse is superb, and I love the intro! (Did you say that new filter is coming out in a couple of weeks ;-) )
Really awesome timelapse. Sadly I didn't get to photograph the milky way in the past moon window, because of a combination of weather and work... I'm hoping for better weather in two weeks.
Another awesome video :)
Awesome man, loved it.
Mike
Love your video's ❤️💯
AMAZING
Alyn, just fantastic images. Can we have some beginner tips, moon photography to get us started, inspired by your skill.
Mind blowing dude. Top notch

Amazing video as always, but can we take a second for the amazing beautiful intro.
Stunning images and footage Alyn and had a chuckle as I was thinking about your filter release then you spoke about it. In terms of modifying you camera, did you do this yourself or did you send it off to a company to do the work?
Class episode and thanks for sharing
Cheers pal. Video about astro modding is coming very soon
Fantastic and love the time-lapse. I am just trying to figure out your interval time? How did you manage to get a time-lapse sequence and a star trail sequence? Did you shoot them all at 20 sec exposure time and a 21 second interval? Would love to give this a try so any guidance appreciated :)
It’s Darren (not Dawn)
Hello Alyn! Huge fan here! Love your content! I have a question! What are the best settings for astro timelapse? Do i have to keep it short but high iso or stop down for sharp but longer time? I have Sony A7 (MR I) and Samyang 24mm 1.5 .Thanks
are you going to do another geminids meteor shower ? since it’s coming soon that video was lit
Killing it Alyn!
Are using the 24GM or what lens on that astro modified a7S2? I love the colors.
I've recently discovered your inspiring and addictive videos, so well done! Many questions come to mind but I'll contain myself to one. Regarding camping in Wales, is there any wildlife of concern? Here in Canada it would vary by location but for me, it's mainly black bear and coyotes.
Epic!
@1:22 Have you tried the bright monitoring mode of the Sony a7 series cameras to compose in the darkness?
Yes I've mentioned it in a few vids but some places are too dark for BM
Alright thanks! 🙂
Alyn, why do you have to wave the star-glow filter about, rather than leave it still??
1:28 That is what ISO 6400 looks for me... 😢
Amazing mate. Love your channel. I like astronomy but know nothing about photography and it's never appealed to me before but your videos have flicked a switch so thanks. I live in a small village and there's not alot of light pollution but I've still never seen a sky like this before. Yes you can see the milky way with the naked eye but it's not as bright and colourful as the photos
Thanks mate. I just need to get out at the right time's then. All the best
Are you shooting un/compressed nightsky with your sony camera? Is there really a difference?
UFO? For the awesome wallpaper!
Not to be cliché; but was pretty Epic!
You are the vampire astrophotographer.
One question; did the A7sii get the intervalometer in the firmware upgrade?
Thanks. No A7sii already had a timelapse app anyway
How dark are the skies at this location? Eg Bortle scale?

damn awesome
Alyn your photos just go to show what a beautiful planet we live on even if we cant see it with our naked eyes loving your work bro you have pure passion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯♥
What specifically are you using to power your A7iii for five hours? Great video as always :-)
Nothing extra, just turn the screen off
