    I just added chrome steel Bar End weights donated by another bike in my garage. I tried a light set, 126g and some improvement. Found another set that weighed 388g each, perfect. Should have done this a long time ago. TB Sync never solved the problem. Thanks for the video.

    I do not have that much vibration in the handles until around the 4.8k mark or around 80+MPH. So, I ordered these bar weights. Going to install them this weekend along with my new bag reflectors.
    Thx Bryan for the farkle part.

    Best video I have ever seen on handlebar vibration. Riding since the 80's never realzied that clip-on on sport bikes reduce engine vibrations through the forks. Cool idea to add the plastic straw to demonstrate. Wish motorcycles could be tested with a device that records vib's through the gear / rpm range.

    Hi there, thanks for the tip. I ride Yamaha MT15 and I get vibrations at higher rpm. As suggested in the video, bought some heavy bar ends and voila..!! The vibrations just got away, not 100% but now I can tour at high speeds without getting my hands numb. Thank you..

    Hi! I own a 2013 fjr and ask me the best choice for me regarding the yamaha bar ends either HVMP Heavy 11.6 ounces or X-Heavy 15.5 ounces, I have a significant vibration at 70 miles per hour (it is worth noting that my two wheels have just been swayed so what do you advise me? Thanks in advance!

    Hi, so you've used these weighted bar ends now for some years. Did they really help and were they worth the 100 dollars to purchase? I just don't want to spend that much if they don't do much. My hands tend to go numb as well and I'm looking for solutions. I have a newer FJR1300. Thank you

    I am posting this as a warning to others. Don't do like I did and rush to purchase new bar end weights before checking your throttle body sync. If you read further down in the comments, you will see that he later removed these expensive ($80 -$110) weights after syncing his throttle bodies. I don't understand why he did not edit this video, or take it down completely after he discovered the real cause of the vibration problem.

    Hi Bryan - noticed in your newer videos you took the bar weights off and went back to stock. Any reason why? I just installed some of these on my 2017 FJR. Still testing. A little bendy at ends but I realize its not an extension of the handlebars, just a bar weight with a screw. The weights from this company are very good quality and do look great on the FJR. I put about 60 lbs torque. Install says 70 lbs. Any tighter I think the bolt would have snapped. Then I would have had real problems. Thanks for all of the great vids. You are great.

    • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  6 років тому +1

      +linmart1 lol they were only on a couple vids. A tbs cured everything and you simply need to keep up on the maintenance schedule for it to have it smooth as glass.

      also do notice I am getting a bit of a wider gap between the throttle and the handlebar. More horizontal slide back and forth of the throttle itself also. Not as good imo as stock.

      Marko FJR It changed both the left and the right the same amount. While it got rid of the vibrations I had a problem with, I have new ones a bit lower. I'm going to do a TBS tomorrow and see if that changes things.

    • @TwoWheelObsession

      Marko FJR Throttle Body Sync. Making sure all the throttle bodies are opening evenly. It's a normal maintenance item and the #1 cause of engine vibration aside from damage of course.

    I ride the same bike, and from what I've read it is notorious for having a high frequency hum that transmits through the handlebars, especially on the throttle side. I fought with it for over a year trying new grips and even bar ends up to 16 ounces. A whole freaking POUND on the end of each side of the handlebars. Still, even after all that, my right hand goes numb inside of 20 minutes in to the ride. But recently I wanted to make the seat more comfy on the longer treks. I got some gel at Onlygel.com that is 1/2 inch thick and is attached to another 1/2 inch of foam sponge type material. Paid $83 with shipping for it. I hollowed out a spot for the gel pad in my seat and glued it in place. Tacked the seat cover back in place and was done. The first ride out I noticed NO VIBRATIONS in my hands at ALL at sustained highway speeds. And hour later still NONE. Seriously, a big gel pad in the seat cushion fixed it, and I'm running very similar to stock grips with no grip puppies.

      If you followed the video, I think the weights may have been ineffective. They would be isolated from the bars by the stock rubber plug. The weights should be mounted hard to the bars. More detailed reply to linmart1.

    I ordered these and all they came with was the bar weight and some weird big black washer type thing that i guess is for one inch bars and the inside isn't threaded nor did they give me a nut for it to screw in.. • @TwoWheelObsession
      @TwoWheelObsession  9 років тому

      ***** If you are talking about an FJR, and you are missing the internal nut - then someone removed it - contact a dealer. Usually that's from someone installing aftermarket ends like Throttlemiesters which require removal of the inserts. The ends I did the video on go in to a stock configuration bike with no modification.

    • @AllThingsSuperMoto

      FJR Biker Paul TBS is normal maintenance on bikes, just like changing the oil. The FJR has a very long schedule compared to some. They can be as short as a couple thousand miles between services.

    • @npr1300A8
      @npr1300A8 10 років тому

      Yes I agree about the ridiculous service schedules on other bikes. We've owned two Pan Europeans and cannot believe that it has to be serviced every 4000 miles! You can easily do this in two tours! I'm just watching your walk around video of your beautiful baby. I can see the fuse access area being different to mine. I just hope that I never have to replace any fuses out on the road!
