Did the same job but i used the Harley torque cam, S&S lifter cuffs and Vance & Hines FP3 tuner. Really liking the performance. Please be aware that Harley is now automatically blocking the powertrain warranty on all 17-18 bikes with aftermarket tuners. This is no longer up to the dealer, it happens automatically when they plug in the online technician tool even if it is just to read codes or program a key. IT does not fully void the warranty but there will be a flag in the system should you a need powertrain repair. HD will decide if it was caused by the tuner/tune used.
I noticed you used a dial-type torque wrench when torquing them down. I crack a head I had just ported when I was installing it using a click-type torque wrench while installing a pin for one of the tensioners at 18#/ft because the material was aluminum on my '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Really sucked and I learned to never used that type of torque wrench on aluminum, so good choice on your part.
Good video but I didn't see that you checked for pinion shaft runout. If it's not within spec, you would have had to continue with using chain gear setup. Hopefully everything turned out okay.
I did my pipes, air cleaner, and fuel programmer. That wasn’t too bad, next is the cam, and bars. How do you like that 475, any significant performance increases that you can feel.
Well I always encourage to pick up a wrench and start learning! It's really not too hard, some stuff is easier than others but if you take your time usually u can get it done 🤘
It's a killer cam. Great all around power, and also u can keep the same cam when going to a big bore later on, it makes it much more of a low end torque cam but it'll work just fine in a 124-128 set up!
Sorry to doublepost on your video but where did you buy this stuff? SnS isn't letting people order shit directly anymore. I want the Cam and Tappets from SnS and half the products I was watching are now gone, and all their stuff is now "contact a dealer."
Hey man great video. Just wondering did u do any head work? Replace the valve springs anything like that? And now that you have been running it for a little while how is it holding up? Any issues?
So no head work and stock valve springs, this cam is as much lift as you wanna go with stock parts. I plan to upgrade the valve springs and lifters when I go big bore on it. But I love the feel of this bike so far! It's was a killer upgrade and highly recommended!
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Someone asked about the lifter and you stayed with stock as they only had 50 miles on them. I also noticed that the lifter covers stayed on during the entire process. Were you able to keep them up inside the bores while removing the cam? I didn't see any magnets or devices holding them up in place when you removed the cam. I thought they might drop down into the cam chest when you pulled the cam out??
Hi mate Can i ask, i get fatbob 2019 and i think already installed cam chest kit, it is a normal if the sound its more noisy i dont know its come from primary or at cam, please i hope you reply and give me suggestion, thanks a lot
If it has a can it might make a little more noise but not a lot. Some bikes have more noise than others. U can use a screwdriver like a stethoscope to try and listen to the engine and see where it’s coming from

Just adding my 2 cents worth. What is with that torque wrench? Haven't seen one like that for years. Second you should only put on a few drops of locticte on the threads and not coat the entire threads. Glad the bike started and ran. I just do things differently
Thanks for the video. When you put your cam gear on, did it pull the cam into the cam plate to a point it became alot more difficult to turn the cam? I just installed mine today, it will turn, but not by hand anymore...just wanted to make sure this was normal at least until it wears in the bushing a little.
Are you turning it by the back wheel? If so did u remove the spark plugs? It does get harder to turn cause u got a lot more rotating with it but. It shouldn't be too bad. If u know it's only the bushings causing the resistance than I wouldn't worry much, it should wear

Great job mate. Riding 2018 Slim and I really hate the rattling chain (or whatever it is) in cam box. Did this sound disappeared after its replacement?? Big thx for answer.
S&S does not use a thick and thin O-Ring in their kits. The cam plate and the oil pump come with the same thin O-Ring. I tried using the stock thick OEM one on the S&S oil pump and the spigot for suctioning the oil from the crank cavity would not push in so I used the O-Rings that came in the kit.
@@therythmoftheroad well if you're bike is pretty new your probably fine but it's good to do it while you're in there and the ones that come with the kit are much stronger so it's just a while you're in there thing!

How come when J&P cycles do there cam install they adjust the front cylinder valves to overlap and then fit and adjust the pushrods into the rear cylinder. Once this is done they set the rear to overlap and fit the front cylinder rods. there reason to this technique is that when one cylinder is on overlap the other cylinder with be on the base circles of the cam! The only difference between your installation and J&P's is your using gear driven cams and there using chain driven!
FXFBS_eNVy I gotcha. Thanks for the vid man. Are the gear driven cams a better set up? It’s only 100$ difference right now for the 124” kit with all cam chest complements.
There is some benefits to chain in some ways. It's quieter which helps them pass EPA noise restrictions. Also since mass producing crankshafts leaves for error in crankshaft run out, the chain is able to take those tolerances unlike gear drive.
