This 2006 Suzuki RMZ450 was an $800 Craigslist find. The bike was listed as "not running" at $1000, and the seller accepted my $800 offer. I picked it up in Manhattan, Montana. After a valve adjustment, carb work, and a general tune up, I had the bike running solid and ready to sell. Leave a comment below on your thoughts on this style of video! I bought a 2007 crf450r brand new from the floor. Still has the really front tire and only has about 12 tanks of gas in it. I might sell it.
I recently picked up a 08 yz450f that needs some love. When I’m done with it itl be a new bike.

For putting holes in plastic try starting with hot metal rod ,then move up in drill size.Nice work btw and you show a lot of the work

I have a love hate relationship for your channel. I do love the content because it’s great content, but I hate it because it’s great content. You’re teaching everyone how to do what you and I and many other have been doing to fund hobbies and now people are going to start doing this more and more destroying the used market.

Quick tip: instead of buying a jd jetting kit i recommend using a jetting calculator. They are free online and gave perfect jetting.

Just 3 things. If it has spark at the right time, enough compression and a good fuel to air ratio---it will run.

Point your toes out when you kick! Ripping your shoes on the foot peg, pointing toes out you can avoid the foot peg all together and save your boots and shoes

Clearly someone went in there, the chain tensionner, bad timing and the shim being on the very loose side, usualy valves will go too tight from being run and not loose. Great vids!

Hey man, I don’t know if you still see the comments on these videos, but I’ve got a 2007 RMZ450 that I can’t seem to find the timing marks on. I was told the service manual for timing marks on the flywheel was wrong
I think I would trust the Japanese engineering before anybody else. They made the bike, and they are no dummies.
It is probably just different than what that dummy has seen before. :)
My RMZ450 looked just like this when I got it for $400!

My dads having a problem with his biking dying after 15min of running and it has a noticeable exhaust leak where the muffler meets the header, would that be a possible culprit?

I just picked up a RMZ250 and am wanting to get a newer front end for it. I noticed Acerbis, Polisport, and UFO have different shades of yellow. what brand did you use?
I believe I used Acerbis but I've mix and matched brands without color issues
@@KincadePavich I hate the batman type of plastic today, so I picked up a Yamaha OEM 2014 front fender for my 2019 YZ250 2-stroke, (yes, I had to mill in new mounting holes). Oh wait, I picked up 2 of them. Both OEM fenders were twisted very badly, and Yamaha stiffed the dealership because they were not in the original packaging, (to sell to who?). I have a manufacturing and quality engineering degree, and I never thought I would see aftermarket with better quality than a Jap bike OEM part. Outsourced to a 3rd world nation or not, Yamaha had their name on them.

There’s someone selling a 2006 rmz450 but it’s locked up. He said 1200 obo. You think it’s worth it ?
Locked up can be very expensive. If it needs a head or valves that can add up quickly. If you want to fix it and ride it you should be able come out pretty well, but if you're trying to make money it's a gamble. In today's market a good running 2006 RMZ450 is worth about $3000 give or take depending where you live. Good luck!
How did you learn all this…..I want to get into this very bad.
Little by little one project a time! Pretty much bought a bike that needed a little work, fixed it, and kept going until I had done a full rebuild. At that point I knew I could learn anything! Essentially, just go for it. Buy service manuals, watch UA-cam videos, and go for it. Good luck!

what's the dimensions of your work benches you made?
My shop has changed, I now have a single 8'x3' bench. These were 5.5' by 3' and 8' by 2.5' I believe.

Since the engine is stock, why such big jetting changes? Are 4-strokes shipped rich like 2-strokes?
I live at about 5,000', so I pretty much always have to lean bikes out from stock. This was a long time ago, I don't remember how many hours I had into it honestly!

Definitely not, way too expensive. Wouldn't pay more than $3000 for a perfect 2006 RMZ450 personally.
