Offering Greg something in return is so obviously the smarter play. And Greg hands her the chance to make the smarter play, he made it so easy for her, and she still choose to make empty threats instead. Greg has survived bullying in the workplace for years, he's not going to flinch at this.

Are you so f**king blind you don't even see what I am?" That line perfectly exemplifies Greg and why he rats on Shiv later in the episode. Shiv fails to realize that as long as she treats him well (i.e., bribe him), Greg will be the least of her problems. He is the simplest piece of the puzzle because he is so transparent about his selfishness.
Shiv is such an clown that she actually made Greg more powerful in this pathetic attempt to intimidate him. You only threaten people who have power over you. Should have made Greg a deal.

Greg: You’re alright, but I think we’re related.
I forgot greg and shiv were cousins lmao
Pinky can’t dance even with Greg
What a dumb play by Shiv. Imagine going at someone and the only thing you have against them is threats lmao. LIke that's great, more of a reason for that person to take you out first.
And it all started with $20..
Mans took the family business, her man, even the dog.. 😂😂
😂😂
Logan, Kendall and even Tom knew when greg had leverage and was better to cut a deal. Shiv understimated him always thinking she smarter than she actually is
facts! She is green.. i’d say inexperience but that doesn’t cover it enough how badly she Fumbled this!! She in politics an doesn’t get the logistics of leverage that’s crazy..
Silence is golden
-Greg
But just “HOW” golden?
-Greg the Egg 🥚
"Say it to someone who cares" Greg, probably
"I don't think of things such as that" is a perfect Greg response 😂.
Daaaaamn, he even was offering her to buy his silence 😂 A little blackmail could have saved her from being shamed like that by her siblings and him smiling as he's snitching
I kept replaying that scene, its just a flash as he crosses past Roman's shoulder. Great shot, better show.
@@SandShock YEP! Blink and you'll miss it moment, if you listen closely, you can even hear the evil laughter from the end of Michael Jackson's Thriller playing in the background 😂 I joke, but damn, it might as well have, this moment was deliciously devilish
I'm telling you Gregg is the ultimate puppet master. ' being toms confidant' always has the inside scoop, playing both sides. Genius
He still has the cruise papers, he knows about Mattson's numbers and he could reveal that Tom was high on drugs when he made the call to Mencken, I doubt he'll end up as CEO, but he'll definitely end up in some respectable position in the company thanks to his Machiavellianism..
@@oppenheimer6321 Greg would not enjoy being a CEO. He wouldn't be able to slither around like Varys if all the attention was on him, and slithering is his main (and pretty much only) superpower.
Making a threat when you have no leverage, power or authority whatsoever on the person, to make your threat feel serious and real, is a red mark for anyone who tries to be cunning lol.
Shiv goes in the game with big heavy boots thinking she's playing smart
Greg remembered what happened to the last woman who threatened him.
Who was that ? I can’t remember
@@justcomments1239 Kerry. Now crying on the subway on her way to her small apartment. Fuck around with Greg the egg and you most definitely will find out.
@@justcomments1239 Kerri
@@JMR_2028 ah yes thanks
This scene shows that Shivs doesnt have what it takes to get the Crown...she is not Logan 😅
All Shiv had to do was come up with a deal. But she has absolutely nothing in her pocket to give and it seems everything/nothing going on in her brain. When it comes to being a little Logan,,,,, man is she dreadful.
"Some people just can't cut a deal"
Carrot and the stick, not just the stick. As Machiavelli said, "fear and love is preferable to fear alone"
Also: I'm recalling the non-event in season 1 when Greg "forgot" the papers for Marcia's seat in the holding company as a favor to Shiv and in exchange she took his last $20 for a vending machine and never even repaid him for that. lol.
A Lannister always pays his debts. If you wanna play the Game of Thrones you have to remember some rules.
facts even logan knew that he rewarded his ppl at the right time! Shiv went too far
@Jay Clearmen Marcia is simply correct to point out how Shiv is playing Royco CEO like a its a kid playing house
She didn't even a stick, she has no power over Greg, her threat meant nothing unless she was actually intending to kill Greg.
Greg, though as awkward as he always looks, totally outworked Shiv here...... She's confronting him about his dealings with Lucas and possibly him knowing about her involvement there.. She then tries to play the "sexy woman" card to get the upper hand, and when that doesn't work because duh.... she's his cousin, she quickly switches to Joe Pesci-mode and threatens to kill him...... Then, Greg even tries to help her along by basically saying, "Uh... this is the part where you're supposed to make me some kind of deal and maybe, if it's good enough, I'll cooperate." and she didn't catch it and kept belittling the guy who can totally screw her over.
He was start-to-finish in game mode here and Shiv was too consumed with desperation to not realize she was only digging her own grave.
I’m with you but I think her asking Greg whether he found her attractive was an opening . She was expecting Greg to say “no” so she could then say, “then why are you trying to fuck me?” Or ‘if you’re thinking of fucking me”. Greg is obviously too awkward to have given Shiv anything useful so she went right to the punchline “if you try to fuck me”.
Greg did come out of it, as you say, and brushed the threat aside and asked for something in return for his silence.
I loved how in pretty short order her own arrogance boomeranged and she realized what many are starting to learn about Greg; DON’T UNDERESTIMATE GREG.
@@DoroteoVilla Could be, and he just Mister Magoo'd his way around it. When I first watched the scene and she asked that, I was thinking..... "What the?.... Is this Succession or Game Of Thrones?'

This was Greg’s best episode. Truly a redemption arc
Idk if Greg is on a “redemption arc” 😂
@@raymondsims7042 Ikr 😂😂😂
@@raemotsoane814 yeah I can’t believe op doesn’t know what “redemption arc” means😂
If by redemption he got worst. He nearly killed someone with lemon water
Greg The Egg is like this type of poker player that you never understand how he wins against all odds but he does. And always it happens again and again, people underestimate him because his position or because he is indeed really annoying until he overcomes or takes advantage somehow. I do feel Shiv had made a huge mistake here.
To me, Greg is an amalgam of characters such as Nate from "Ted Lasso," Varys from "GoT," and Jonah from "Veep." Like Varys, he knows how to slither around and get useful information. Like Jonah, he is an uncharismatic cloud botherer who manages to fall his way to the top. And like Nate, he is the bullied awkward guy who ultimately turns out to be a Machiavellian f**k.
Shiv was going real Cersei Lannister between the incest tease and over playing her hand thinking she is smarter than she is. 😂

When you see how Shiv couldn't even intimidate Greg, you know she's not the right one to run the company.
Even Logan knows,What Greg wants,Greg must have.
Shiv always seems to think she's clever when she's the most transparent of the siblings. From the very beginning of the show they've show this when she wanted Tom to sign a prenup without an infidelity clause and thought he would just... not find out.
Like Holly Hunter's character said she thinks she's smarter than she is.
The dialogue in this show is so lifelike. I feel like I’m listening to real life conversation.
The way Greg talks is just too funny. His lines are great and his delivery is simply perfection. 😂
She really needed to get off her high horse and realize that besides his goofy demeanor Greg is a legitimate player with connections.
Shiv thought Greg was a pushover, bro really gutted her alive later in the ep 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Greg's faced this before with Kerry. Ain't scared of shit.
Greg’s gonna end up getting a job with the CIA lol
This was a perfect chance for Greg to say “No, but did you know Tom ask me to kiss him the first time we met” #nohomo
this is such a great characterization moment. shiv simply does not have what it takes to be logan, + greg is a slippery weirdo whose most marketable asset is his ability to make a social encounter very uncomfortable
Shiv is selfish, just like what she did to Tom for not making any promises Season 3 Ep. 9 Greg was smart because what's in it for him.
Sad, because she is Gerri's goddaughter
Shiv doesn’t know how to negotiate
This was a WTF moment @ Shiv.
Shiv, you chose poorly.
Pride comes before the fall.
Her ego never let her see that Greg was a threat and a potential asset.
This scene was so fuckin awkward I cant 😭
Greg couldnt handle all that badonkadonk even if he wanted to
Big mistake by Shiv. You have to offer Greg an incentive so he can weigh out his options. That's what he asks for the entire show and all she does is threaten him.
Shivvy I know you’re going through a divorce but you got to lay off those websites my girl
The best ending ever would be if Tom ends up working for Greg by the end of this...
Shiv was pathetic here
The way greg talks is so fucking funny
This scene confirmed all doubts that Shiv deserves to lose at the end.
There's honor amongst thieves. Shiv has none of it.
"i dont think of things such as that." 😂
Lmao😂
Lmao the way he speaks
@Spaceman Spiff ha😂😂
This is such a great scene. In any other show she would be walking away, the camera showing a shocked Greg and a smirk on Shiv that only we can see because she's a badass bitch for throwing a sentence like from a movie 😄
I was looking at her like…. Tf are u talking about, she’s treating Greg like he doesn’t know how to play the game when he plays it better than her, sometimes i wonder if she’s just posturing but then she shows that she really thinks she’s smarter than everybody else
she doesnt have leverage, she is not in a position of power and greg holds all the cards knowing her secret. What does she end up doing ? meaningless insults like her dad, insults that would have had weight behind them due to her connection with her father.
so yeah she clearly does not know hot to play the game
Shiv really is breaking down
whenever he says "I guess my only question would be" you know he's bouta spit some bars
What does Shiv even have on Greg? I doubt she has any dirt on Greg that could do substantial damage
incest!
She (and the other siblings) think so lowly of him that they don't think they need it.
Even Logan actually offers him a position (I fail to remember) to get him on his side and Shiv... such an idiot.
@@innerDialectic ehh i think that only applies to shiv an rome.. logan and kendall were always down to reward greg when he show some ingenuity an had leverage.. shiv just game goofy besides her threat aren’t worth that much.. roman has a devil may care unpredictable nature on his side so you never know what that spazz will or won’t do. An Kendall rather break bread an compromise.. mostly will his father logan & rome both called him a soft bitxh over.
@@jayclearmen411 this has already happened with Ken and Greg in season 3
She's allergic to winning
Even Logan knew how to make a deal with a guy like Greg, such a dumb move by Shiv, for a guy who's been around Tom for so long, her threats do nothing.
Just goes to show you - never doubt a disgusting brother.
Not sure anyone’s gonna post this. But the funniest part of this episode is Hugo, when he says “ah this guys so boring. Pull your dick out or something.” Lol couldn’t stop laughing
Shiv really thought she could intimate Greg 😂. She has no real power Ken and Roman have actual power in the company and it’s no wonder why Greg blabbed immediately when Ken confronted him. She could have bribed him but she was to egotistical to understand her lack of power in the situation to do so
Shiv could not have been more embarrassing in this scene. This is evidenced by Greg calling her out 10 min later
Maaaaaaaaaaan Shiv was on self-destruction mode this episode
Offering Greg something in return is so obviously the smarter play. And Greg hands her the chance to make the smarter play, he made it so easy for her, and she still choose to make empty threats instead. Greg has survived bullying in the workplace for years, he's not going to flinch at this.
Shiv thought she was Tywin Lannister but was just Cersei.
“Do you find me attractive?”
“YES”
Shiv thought Greg was the same boy she took that last $20 Bill from in S1
Greg understands the Game
If it to be said so it is.
Greg got the last laugh!
This scene made me so uncomfortable, I was like half looking at the TV
Shiv after Logan dies tries even harder to sound like him and it just falls flat every time - Dip S41t Shiv strikes again
This scene reminds me of the ending scene in "Michael Clayton" where Michael (George Clooney) says to Karen (Tilda Swinton), "I'm not the guy that you kill, I'm the guy that you buy.
For a second I was like...are we about to go Game Of Thrones here....there is only 2 episodes left who knows.
Shiv is such an clown that she actually made Greg more powerful in this pathetic attempt to intimidate him.
You only threaten people who have power over you. Should have made Greg a deal.
The way Greg responded to Shiv's accusation that he was with mattson really shows his character growth. Any other time in the series and he woulve been a bumbling mess
Not gonna lie I took 2 edibles before this episode and was high as hell, then this scene completely fucked with my head and I couldn't stop laughing simultaneously thinking this can't be real.
HBO going back to their GoT roots
Because Greg laters outs Shiv, and the brothers call the election, now we have Greg deciding the fate of the country for the next four years.
I love how she called him "Gregory" to be infantilizing I suppose, big mistake for Shiv...
I’m starting to think Greg will be the successor…
Funny you said that. ℹ saw an interview with Brian Cox on the Late Show. Steven asked him about a spin off. Brian replied, “I don’t see how they could do any spin offs unless they do something with Greg” which makes me wonder 💭 if Greg IS in fact the Successor? 🤷🏻♀️
Greg called her bluff and broke all hell loose lol
You know it’s bad when you can’t even make Greg feel bad and break. Shiv has no leverage and she’s a crappy Logan.
"you find me attractive Greg?"
"You should see me in the wedding dress"
That's what she gets for not giving his 20 dollars back for vending machine back in Season One.
Not even Greg takes her seriously
Every episode I miss Logan more. All 3 of these idiots think they’re his successor, but none of them have the balls or the brains that he did. Ken is probably the closest, but Shiv and Rome are way too cocky. Ken has already been humbled, but he still has too much guilt hanging over him to be a killer. Yet. (Edit: not sure if this aged well or not)
