Yesterday I had to face a life-threatening situation. I had made myself a pizza from Naan bread I had in the freezer so I can use up some mozzarella cheese I had in the fridge. I sat down to eat the pizza, Usually use a fork. I couldn't get this one-piece cut with a fork so I picked it up to put in my mouth. I placed the pizza in my mouth when the sauce burned my tongue. At that very moment, I got distracted by my 5 lb chihuahua Rendezvous I ended up taking too big of a bite. I tried to chew it as 3 large pieces went down my throat. I soon realized the danger of the situation. At first, I wanted to grab my drink and try to force it down. It dawned on me that this could make a bad situation worse. I decided to force myself to cough and gag so the pieces would come up. I quickly grabbed a napkin to cough in. I remember as I grab the napkin something fell off the table, I didn't care at that moment I knew I needed immediate action. I coughed and gaged up the first offending piece into the napkin. The other two still remained lodged tightly in my throat. I then continued to cough and gag even harder to release them from their deadly grip. Soon the second piece of pizza came up and nestled into the napkin with its companion. I still had the last piece that continued to threaten my life. I coughed and gagged even harder trying to coerce it from its tight grip. I began to wonder if it will ever let loose. Before I knew it that last piece finally released its death hold and found its way up my throat into the napkin where its comrades laid. At that moment I took a breath and cried out I'm grateful that my body knows what to do to save itself. I began to give thanks that I'm alive not just for my sake but for the sake of my family and loved ones. I know my death would have been too great for them to bear. I also gave thanks for my life for the sake of those I will help in the future. I then understood the importance of my life not just for me but for family, loved ones, friends, and those I've yet to meet. I pray those who read this are inspired to understand the importance of their life. Because of that, it's important for us to take care of ourselves, not just for us but for others as well. Remember, even at a life-threatening moment you can choose not to panic. That very choice can save your life. I've also decided to take pizza off my diet.
HI sir, I am op of age 20 from India, I want to be a success coach and motivational speaker like you. Can you please help me as my mentor that how should I start.
@@pennyragan8244 OMG... I had a similar thing happen to me, last night. Different food, but similar circumstances! As I live alone, I was somewhat worried. The food was burning my throat and I tried several times, like you to cough it up but succeeded only after several tense moments. Thank goodness you were able to expel the offending food. You're right. Gratitude for one's life makes a huge difference. Be healthy and well!
As someone with a very debilitating anxiety disorder with agoraphobia, I wish I could "like" this video 500 times instead of only once. Jack Canfield, will you be my therapist? I cried (in a good way) watching this.
I loved how Jack looked into the camera and paused while we focused on our breathing. The video was very helpful in getting into the" now" moment. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and concern for me.
Wow! I loved watching and listening to you Jack! You just made my day by encouraging and motivating me more to live at my present, to focus on the thoughts that uplift and empower me. I have been one of your email subscribers until now and though I cannot read them every day, I manage to peep here every now and then to watch and listen to you. Yes, fear is just an imaginary thing. I want to face my fears by doing something that scares me even once in a day in this beautiful life of chaos. Thank you so much. Keep on inspiring us through your powerful words and books. SO important to remember that in this very moment, I am safe. And yes, it's good to be informed, but what good does it do to keep watching the death toll go up several times a day, when I can't do anything more about it? I check numbers a couple times a week-just to be aware. I also open up those websites/articles with that in mind. That way it doesn't hijack my emotions.
Excellent video to watch. It is just perfect specifically at this moment of time when there is a fear out of pandemic. Thank you, Jack Looking forward to having more videos from you soon
