LORE - Left 4 Dead Lore in a Minute!
Left 4 Dead begins sometime after the outbreak of the Green Flu, a fairly modest name for what's probably a level 4 biohazard organism, which yes, turns people into zombies. A group of four survivors, Bill, Zoe, Francis, and Louis are mysteriously immune to the outbreak, and make their way through Pennsylvania in an attempt to find an extraction zone. Along the way they encounter various mutated Infected, that include
the Smoker that chokes people to death with its bacon-like tongue,
the Hunter, a mildly fashionable Infected that pounces survivors,
the Boomer, a large fellow with a penchant for vomiting,
the Tank, a larger, muscle-bound fellow that can throw just about anything at you,
and finally the Witch, who absolutely HATES flashlights.
Our ragtag group of survivors nearly make it out until the military transports them to a base to be lab rats for a possible cure. The military doctor tells them they are carriers of the disease and have been infecting those around them. A rebellious lieutenant, weary of the carriers, sounds the evacuation alarm - and yes - the Infected LOVE loud noises. So naturally the base is overrun, and the survivors attempt to escape while hordes of the Infected corner them.

There needs to be a campaign where you play as the L4D1 survivors at the Military Base from the comic.

I mean pipe bombs attract but it will kill all the zombies so you attracted a horde but the pipe bomb finsished the job for you

You left out the character's backstories themselves, though.
Like how Zoey liked to watch a lot of zombie movies with her dad and after her infected mom bit him her father convinced him to shoot him to kill him before he turns. Later on she finds out the immunity is probably hereditary and her father might have turned out OK.

You LORE guys need to explain more stuff, that's 75% of the story, you guys need to explain what happens AFTER you play the game, so everything makes sence, but since im here I minus well do it for you, okay, so
After they escape the lab, they head around docks looking for boats, after they killed some people to escape the lab and steal a train, because.... why not?
Then Zoey gets mad at Bill for killing those innocent people who were actually douchebags, Bill repeatedly tries to make up for it, they get on a bridge, raise it, but a generator fails and someone has to jump off the bridge, run through a horde of zombies, and get past 3 tanks, to restart the generator, now of course in the game, ANY player can sacrifice themselves, but however in the comics, and in L4D2 gameplay, if you walk to the generator you will find Bill's dead body near it, because in the comics, he sacrificed himself to save his friends, and im guessing the zombies mauled him to death since they were immune, also as a fun thing, you can hit on Zoey AND take Bill's Gun! Have Fun Ellis!

in left 4 dead every campaign was actually not connected making every campaign just a reimagining of how the survivors fought their way through the infection
but left 4 dead 2 says all these campaigns are connected, kills bill, and shows the stages and reactions to the infection
dead center shows ceda's underwhelming evacuation
the passing shows other survivors working together to help each other through the infection
dark carnival shows landmarks and tourist attractions fall to the infection
swamp fever shows the lengths people will go to get away from the infection, to the swamp
hard rain shows how resources have become limited to the infection such as gas and food
and finally, the parish shows the military's cold yet resolved "save only those we can" attempt at survival

When the sacrifice was released they came out with a comic detailing what happened at the military base after Blood Harvest. reading that should give you more queues when it comes to certain lines the survivors have in The Sacrifice campaign
Actually in the end, the 4 survivors escape the base onto a train while the zombies attacked the soldiers. The survivors then start looking for a boat which they could use to find an uninhabited island live on. They find a sailboat filled with supplies but can't sail away as there is a bridge blocking the path to sea. So they go back to raise the bridge only for the bridge to stop halfway and attract a huge horde due to noise. This results in bill, sacrificing himself, running through the horde to go fix a generator to allow the bridge to continue rising. Then eventually the horde starts dispersing as the bridge is too high for the zombies to reach the survivors and the survivors then sail away on their boat. All of this happened in the l4d comic
Ive played left 4 dead, but barely remember any of it so im not gonna say that the army base wasnt in the game unless i replay it.

During the introduction of the 4 protagonists, Francis is drawn to be the tallest survivor, but in the games Louis actually stands at the tallest height of the 4.

Holy crap without that viddeo I would have never realised there was a L4D comic! And after reading it I must say it's awesome. Got some deeper understanding of the lore. :)

Not really. Random people being immune to the zombie outbreak has been a cliche ever since the modern zombie was invented really. Most zombie games/films revolve around a random group of people who just happen to be immune. Nothing special, but L4D was a much better game than Dead Island.
Boberther Not sure about that last statement... I mean, they can be both about zombies, but L4D is more like an waves based game, while DI gets skills, items' farming, leveling and choosing characters (Classes), which make them something like an Zombie RPG. They are really different, and probably for totally different kinds of players (Unless you just like zombies, and don't mind the what kind of gameplay is it). I like both, though.
MatheusLCF Personally I found Dead Island to be enjoyable, for the first 5 hours maybe. After that it genuinely feels like a chore to play.

Actually, the zombies story line is really cool, there's a ton of hidden Easter eggs you have to solve that tell you the origins of the zombies and such. The game mode itself is pretty unique with perks and pack-a-punch machine, it is pretty different than all of the other zombie survival games.

I see a bunch of people talking about how her short flashes of noise don’t annoy the infected but a long loud noise does. Think about it like this would you prefer a loud bang or would you prefer a say alarm clock with the volume all the way up to 11

the ceda are the people who were trying to make a cure (and failed) tried to make treatments for the cure (washing hands, healthy mind etc. Ps that failed to) and made safe rooms. When the outbreaks got big they kinda disappeared though. They are either cowards or all of them are dead.

Other survivors,you will see writings over the walls on saferooms,thats how other survivors communicate with each other
All valve games take place in the same universe. Left 4 Dead games are actually movies that the people in the valve world can watch. Just wasn't mentioned in the vid :P
that would explain the "film grain" option in the settings, and the advert-like posters for campaigns
Team Fortress has it's own universe.
So does DOTA.
CS:GO and Left 4 Dead are definitely in one universe together.
Half Life and Portal are in a universe separate from the CS-L4D universe.
Other games need more speculation and evidence that they're connected to other valve games.
While some look like they should be connected but no one knows which universe, such as Alien Swarm.
Dover Deepridge ellis makes references to half life and team fortress, while louis references counter strike

Sorry to be a complete idiot, but I had no idea about the last part. Did the whole lab thing happen at the end of the Left 4 Dead 1 campaigns or before them? And if before why do you start on the roof of an apartment building rather than a base/lab?

The intro movie explains how you got there. And yeah, L4D comic is set between the main campaign and The Sacrifice DLC.
read the comics they are free, and it's what happens between the last campaigns and the sacrifice. wich explains why everyone is super touchy during that campaign

Actually, in the sacrifice bill and zoey have a argument about what bill did. The ending of the comic where bill dies is also in the game. The bit about them being carriers is also in the game. (they infected their pilot in crash course)

Hey! You didn't tell us how the disease started spreading! You know the "No Mercy" mission from "Payday: The heist", which is suposed to be a prequel? (kinda). Where you steal blood from the person that is mostly infected by the virus and escape?
There should be a dlc for the escape from the military facility that leads up to the passing.

Fast fact, payday the heist has the No mercy map of the hospital and the gang may have started the outbreak. You can find bill and the witch along with the containment room where a dead guy is at. But idk if its official.

Where did he learn about them getting to a military base and everything that happened afterwords? I've played all the L4D campaigns and it only goes up to the point that they are "rescued" by the military.
