Nice one , I'm happy to say that I was once Pete's neighbor when he lived in the Notting hill area of London and would often have a chat with him when we passed each other near our home's and he came across as a very decent guy despite all the media attention that followed him around in the latter part of his life...

He lived just around the corner from the station in some beautiful Georgian/regency styled Victorian mansions . I met him and his wife Lynn in the late eighties . He hasn't had any surgery yet but had stopped wearing the goth clothes . I heard later about the surgery and realised he's come out .but it was obvious to me all the way back then He was sooo caring and nuturing in the way straight men aren't .

@@sayeedharem4673 Hi! It's so interesting to hear that about Pete because he usually appeared to be all things except caring and nurturing, especially on CBB 😂. By the way, how was his relationship with Lynne? Did they seem to be a couple, or just two buddies that lived together? I'm curious about the way he treated her before the divorce...

People say things about Boy George but he’s a lovely and generous man with a very soft side who didn’t have to pay for the funeral but knew it was the right thing to do so did it. His mum brought him up well.
I thought Pete was a nice man as well. My mum, bless her soul, loved both of these men and their songs and would dance around the room to them. She was always pleased to see them on the television.

I loved Pete Burns from the moment he appeared in the 80s with Dead or Alive and forever after. "You Spin Me Round" remains one of my all time records and just hearing it spins me round to that entire teenage period of my life. I too adored him in BB6 and I still think that was the best ever year. I used to watch him, George Galloway and Michael Barrymore late into the night chatting to each other and cried with laughter! This was just before it was filtered and boy! were they indiscreet. The Jodie Marsh saga was hilarious and for me, one of the great television moments. I recall when Jimmy Savile came into the house and he called him "an old, revolting cadaver" and wondered why he was so dead set against him. Well, the rest is history. I know George Galloway had to bail him out of jail a few times and remained his friend. What a uniquely individual person he was. The cosmetic surgery was hard to understand, but he seemed to offer no reason for it and I remember him saying to George Galloway he felt all man despite his appearance and wondering why this was. Certainly his death robbed British society of a true eccentric. He lit the world up when he was about and I miss him still. Thanks for doing this tribute and I love your channel, your choices so far and I look forward to many, many more.

I find it sad that people only remember him from the BB house, his cosmetic surgery and one big pop hit record, people think he was just another Stock Aitkin and Waterman product, he really wasn't.
Dead or Alive were very much a goth band (early formation featured Wayne Hussey who went on to The sisters of Mercy and The Mission), their music was dark and not commercial that came later after Pete wanted to be pop star, he then slated all of his previous work as rubbish, it really wasn't.
The story about Boy George stealing his image of plaits and top hat is true, there is a video called 'Misty Circles' from a TV show (Razamataz) he dressed like that in the clubs before Boy George knew who he was, he used the plaits and a top hat but But George copied everyone back then including Leigh Bowery. It's ironic that George paid for Pete's funeral, it's almost like getting one over on Pete but I like to think that the two had made up after the bitter feud they had.
