This picture encapsulates much of my feelings after watching Dune part two. There is the feeling of time in the shifting sands and the elegant architecture. A feeling of space. Dune is time itself.

Absolutely! After the first one Messiah will be less action focused and more philosophical. Children is like a mix of the previous two, action packed but still thought-provoking. So you shouldn’t miss any of them!
Since then I finished God Emperor as well. I would recommend you to consider reading that too. Very enjoyable book.

Friendly reminder that one of Grimes' first albums is based on Dune. It's called Geidi Primes and many of the songs are for different characters and places in the books.

As much as I loved the movie and thought the visuals were awesome, I did feel like the city itself was a bit lacking aesthetically.
This thumbnail is cool because it captures the Middle Eastern influence from the books and also looks more alien.
Thanks! Yeah this is how I pictured things when I read the book. I like the idea that it was more elaborate rather than on the minimal side like the movie. Still loved the aesthetic from the movie tho!

After watching Dune part 2, I'm not at all surprised that I'm here, or that many others are too.
The music made me recall the vibes of Atlantis III pc game and my first impressions of Egypt when the doors of Hurgada airport opened and hot & dry air enveloped me. I consider the Atreides felt the same when the spacecraft door opened and Arrakis heat flooded in

Fell asleep counting identical sand trout jumping over a dune to this. One after the other, until I found myself buried deep beneath the present in a prescient state of infinite possibilities. In that state, I realized the trout in my dreams all looked identical, because they all were me, or different versions of what I may yet become. When the next trout jumped - I took control. I became the little maker that I'd been this whole time, long before I was conceived in my mother's womb - a victim of violent genetics and their rapine compulsion to mold life into their own tragic image, regardless of what their hosts want. But this time, I took control of my destiny. I dove into the dune instead of jumping over, burrowed myself deep under the sand...
And when I woke, I exploded out into the world as the mighty worm - Shai-Hulud itself. Happiness was finally mine to possess.

chapter 2 is good, but the ending was a little disappointing
3 movies.... and a TV series. Its supposed to build up for the 3rd one.

Would love to know as well. I heard the movie architecture was designed to resemble brazilian brutalism with Ziggurat architecture mixed in and in some buildings I do recognise the futuristic, yet archaelogical look.
