The food in Vegas is insanely tempting, but I am still in shock with what happened to Graham Hicks. I don't want to add to the recriminations--I know Graham is probably being the hardest on himself right now--but that was a fucking disaster. He was the favorite out of all the athletes to get 505kg, and six guys pulled heavier than he did on the day. And that's after he focused for a year, felt great physically and mentally, and definitely had at least 470kg in him. Graham needs a guy like you or Loz as coach/advisor, someone he respects, to mind him so that these mistakes do not occur...
It's crazy to even say that phrase with the field he's competing in!! It's probably the strongest top 20 guys that there's ever been in history. Overall I mean. And yet he's literally running away in each competition he does..unbelievable
Ruano's 470 was easy work. He said in Loz's live yesterday that he felt a slight pop in his hamstring on attempting 505 & so stopped lifting immediately. His prep was at least a month less than he wanted it to be, but said on the day he was feeling strong & ready for the 505.
I agree, but I was also shocked how well Hooper got 505 off of the floor without any focus on such weights in training. Lucy is the Thor of women's deadlift (perhaps more akin to Eddie before anyone caught up), the field needs to catch up.
Rauno 470 FLEW up. Andrade 470 seemed to also fly up but the camera work was trash. would love to see some different angle of the lift and not just his knees and straps until he's near lockout (and then on his back). I get they try to add *production value* to the comp, but at least show us a replay from a better angle. I don't care for the closeup of the guys strapping up to the bar, stay on a wider shot so we can see them go at it, or at least have the replay provide that. Andrade is going to be a close contender for 505 next year imo
This weekend Colin Bryce credited Eddie with the world record without even acknowledging Hafthor’s pull. I wish they would patch things up as this is denying us an incredible rivalry. Yeah, it’s a pity Graham changed his diet, I wondered what went wrong but that makes sense.
With Hafthor competing since 2009, and Mitch competing since 2022, cant wait to see what Hoopers record will be like with 15 years of competition instead of just 3 years!
Mitch is an example of a proper healthy fit strongman, who knows about the body and how to train it. Quite different to everyone else who thinks its all about being massive and eating as much stuff as possible.
Fr, Mitch is actually the only competing strongman I’m subbed to because I genuinely find his content informative and valuable, rather than just pure entertainment
As long as Colin is in the picture, no strongman with any respect for a fair sport should in any way be associated with Giants Live. So just stop that "get over it" Bull Shit. Cheating is cheating, but apparently, some people have forgotten all about consequences. Fix your moral compass.
I thought Hooper came the closest to the 505, but going on to win the next event after that is crazy. I can’t see anyone beating him in strongman. Like Pa said “Hooper is a fookin alien” 😂
There were number of injuries. Evan tweaked his back on the 1,000 deadlift and then made it worse with the car walk and was having back spasms. He hobbled out later to address the crowd and it was obvious he was in pain. Tom also got hurt but I don't remember what it was, and Oleksii basically fell into Bibby's arms after the wrecking ball hold to get off the platform and was advised not to do stones by the medical team. Lucy and Trey both hit their deadlifts without a suit, which was insane, and it was great to see Eddie do so well. It was my first Giant's live show and I enjoyed it.
Yeah, Hooper is over exposed and it's just getting boring now so yes I agree get Thor back. Is there a prize for how many comps you do in a season because maybe that's what Hoopers doing lol. Trey was a treat to watch but I was gutted for Hicksy. Lucy did really well but yes needs a challenger maybe. Gald Luke is back in the mix and Pa that was a great review
Rauno’s lockout is superhuman, they should put a jump in for him to increase the masters record. Did Luke attempt 425? I think he’s more capable on deadlift than he believes
So, That raises an interesting question. Wouldn't Rauno have just set the Masters Record with the 470 pull? Just by way of being a pro master I mean. Ultimately it should be the new Masters record even though he was competing in an "Open" event.
Now Mitch has felt 505 I honestly think he will train for it, alongside staying in shape for the Big Four shows. Giant Live shows he can use as training.

The Deadlift World Championships just happened in Vegas, and no one serious challenged the 505KG pull, if you can't even get it past your knees how do you call that a serious attempt? Eddie and Thor are the only ones to really ever pull 500KG all the way.
It is weird and frustrating and disappointing having the Deadlift World Championship and the guy who EVERYBODY KNOWS is the best deadlifter in the world refuses to participate.
Also impressed by Treys wrecking ball hold. Not totally a grip event, but great placing. Guest lifter thing kinda sucks. 8 guys, then 6 guys at the end made it super anticlimactic. Spend 3 hours on the DL then watch 2 guys do four more events in ten minutes. Glad to see Eddie getting the respect he deserves as a top guy in the world, and not just a gimmick. They also should've picked a guest MC that actually knows the athletes names 😂
*Trey's* 470 is the American record, also suitless and regular wraps. Highest in comp suitless pull ever. *Hixxy's* situation was just unfortunate. I didn't think 505 was happening based on two things: his early peak and plan to "maintain it" for like almost 5 weeks, and his last 470 before the show was weak up top and hitched. I even questioned him on how he was gonna do it, and he said that he was only going to pull 470 "once", almost sensing offense. Then, he pulled it again before the show. I think he put himself into a corner and had to salvage the prep. I thought he would have a quick deload and one more quick ramp back up, from his last top single video at the time. *Ivan* as usual, doesn't peak well and underperforms. He's never getting it. He isn't coachable. *Hooper* also impressed me by not only pulling 470, but pulling 505 practically to his knees. I still don't consider him the favorite after Thor to get 505. Trey's suitless 470 shows he could get good in a suit and pull it off next year. I think it's Thor, then Trey, then Hooper, then whoever. *Rauno* is too old and torn up (literally) to be even trying for anything above 470 at this point. *Eddie* is so underrated. If he gets his deadlift up, he'll be in the WSM final next year and be a legit top 10. I think *Luke* coming back on full steam and not getting back to his best shows he's declining. He's about 40 I think (or 39), and his best bet is to become a log specialist and break the log record, even if for a bit. Just stamp his name up there and peak his head above the clouds for a bit, that's all that's needed. He could even be top 10 still, but he's stuck in the bottom half at WSM and he's already won Europe's and amassed a great resumé. I've been disappointed with *Evan* post-WSM. He always underperforms, gets injured, pulls out, and doesn't peak well. It could be a combination of him and Adam Dierks, his coach. He'll need to really evaluate himself for next year. He will not win a major title unless he utilizes his potential.
They all use the same crap. Some manage it better than others. Genetics still is the foundation for everything. Thor has even spoken about using peptides especially during recovery from injury. Hooper is just more open to conversing about it.

Personally, I don’t think anyone has the right to go to a show and just fk about. Not that I’ve any idea if anyone did or didn’t. Just giving my tuppence on that.

Hooper is as good, possibly even better, as Thor was in 2018. As consistent across the board as a prime Martins but with events he absolutely blitzes everyone in like a prime Mateusz. He is potentially the greatest ever.

First of all, Europe’s strongest man title is pathetic. It’s a one day show with less than average winners. Second of all, Giants live need Thor and Thor doesn’t need them. Giants Live needs to do a better job finding their role in strength sports because one day strongman CrossFit events aren’t cutting it in the world of strength.
Perfect analysis of the comp man 💪🙏
I agree, Hooper needs people pushing him.
He’s not a young man. He’s definitely too old to be chasing 505.
The Pa’dcast is fuckin brilliant branding Pa 😂 love it 👌💯
Thank you 😂
Treys 470 was definitely my favorite lift. I was hoping to see graham attempt the 505, so bummed he misgroved or lost balance. He must be devastated
I agree, but I was also shocked how well Hooper got 505 off of the floor without any focus on such weights in training. Lucy is the Thor of women's deadlift (perhaps more akin to Eddie before anyone caught up), the field needs to catch up.
Your new videos have been excellent. Your post comp analysis is top tier
Much appreciated!
Austin really is the “Mexican Eddie Hall”. But he’s also good at a lot of the other non-static events. Future WSM
This weekend Colin Bryce credited Eddie with the world record without even acknowledging Hafthor’s pull. I wish they would patch things up as this is denying us an incredible rivalry. Yeah, it’s a pity Graham changed his diet, I wondered what went wrong but that makes sense.
Wait the guy literally said and I quote “you’ve seen 500, 501, but tonight we might see 505 go up” or something like that
Oddly Colin did mentioned it before but why not now ?
With Hafthor competing since 2009, and Mitch competing since 2022, cant wait to see what Hoopers record will be like with 15 years of competition instead of just 3 years!
Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise, you are a really funny guy 👍😉
Trey was firing on all cylinders. He definitely pushed Mitch. Wouldn't it be interesting if those 2 ended up being the ones with a rivalry.
Trey definitely impressive , great show all the way around
Mitch is an example of a proper healthy fit strongman, who knows about the body and how to train it. Quite different to everyone else who thinks its all about being massive and eating as much stuff as possible.
Fr, Mitch is actually the only competing strongman I’m subbed to because I genuinely find his content informative and valuable, rather than just pure entertainment
Trey is looking great, especially after his injury. Adding Thor in the mix would have really made this show much more interesting.

It was my first Giant's live show and I enjoyed it.
i read the thumbnail as the mountain needs to defeat the undertaker 😂

Ye think wide Pav could do it once he gets fit and back in competition shape?
Not any closer to a deadlift world record? Really? Hooper is very close.
Mitch is on his own level. No one outside of Thor is even close.
Hicks at 6 weeks out a double at 450kg looked so good yet a few weeks later did not look comfortable at 465kg
450kg x 2 reps was his max
It wasn't even two good reps as I recall, but some in here want to hope too much
Rauno’s lockout is superhuman, they should put a jump in for him to increase the masters record.
Did Luke attempt 425? I think he’s more capable on deadlift than he believes
So,
That raises an interesting question.
Wouldn't Rauno have just set the Masters Record with the 470 pull?
Just by way of being a pro master I mean.
Ultimately it should be the new Masters record even though he was competing in an "Open" event.

Great summary
Thor can do it. After all the Moose uses testosterone and Peptide’s to which obviously help. Love to see Tray do it and maybe others.
They all use the same crap. Some manage it better than others. Genetics still is the foundation for everything. Thor has even spoken about using peptides especially during recovery from injury. Hooper is just more open to conversing about it.

Besides that they keep inviting the same athletes that don’t train for the events or get injured while rarely including up and coming athletes who would decimate their cadre of frequent fliers.
