Good point there Pa about your knee, a lot of people don't consider how important the knees are in completing heavy overhead pressing, just like with propper benching form, the legs are always needed, even with strict pressing.
Even just sitting in the stands at WSM this year felt like a work out. Brutal 10 hour days on burning aluminum surface fighting for shade breaks whenever you could, even skipping events to get a rest from the sun. Any time a cloud came over was a huge relief

Having this person whos gone from marathon runner to strength athlete and completely dominate the sport like this, as a fan im not convinced hes human. Plus the fact that with the last show he didnt only win it. He won by such a huge margin he didnt even have to touch the atlas stones. He really has boosted the standard at the highest level and i can't wait to see everyone next year at the shows implementing their plans to dethrone the king. Hopefully it works and stops the sport being a one horse race
I think world's should go back to Iceland. I'll bet that would have Thor on the phone to Colin and Darren looking for a place. Especially as former winners don't need to pre qualify by doing Giants shows or OSG.

Which has to be better for morale and recovery than staying in ANY hotel. In regards to money, worlds pays a pretty enough penny to the winner. Meet Eddie hall IRL had no respect for my time, I asked him to sign my belt and he told me he will after his convo with someone else, I waited 10 mins for him to sign my belt and when he finished his convo he looked at me and just turned around and went back to his private area away from the public.
The thing with Eddie is he's very smart. He is full of shit but he knows thats what people want to see and it makes him stand out from the other athletes. Look at all the crap he said he needed to do to pull 500kg, few years later thor just pulled and now mitch will pull 505kg without it as well.
I think split-jerk press, and strongman style press should be 2 categories, just like sumo and conventional deadlift..... its just, not the same, and can't be measured the same. even if the end results is the same, the path to get there isn't... we need a single point of reference for comparing athletes.
The whole point of strongman was to get the weight into lockout however possible, giving everyones genetics a chance. Its still legal to clean the log however you want to so why not press it however you can.

Sadly for him, he does suffer with a lot of injuries too. I think he trains to get strong, accomplishes that, then pushes it further, gets injured and his strength drops again, rinse and repeat. It's a shame because I think he could be a great strongman if he stayed injury free, he's one of if not the best at natural stones in the world.

I like that wsm is outside... However, lots of places in the world, even just in the US, that are sunny but not 10000000 degrees. It's just stupid to keep subjecting athletes to that.
100% agree about WSM needing to be inside. Putting giant men that are already pushing themselves to the max in that high humidity and heat is dangerous. I care much more about Strongman safety and also seeing their true potential than some view of a beach or whatever in the background.
