Escaping more road blocks in Mexico 🇲🇽 |S6-E80|

- In this episode I am hunting for tyres again (no luck unfortunately), so I push on towards the Pacific coast. On a big highway, there is another road block in the middle of nowhere. I don't know why it's there and whether or not I will be faced with any aggression so I decide to not hesitate and just go for it..

Truer traveling words were never spoken. Better alone than with a bad companion.
This applies to every aspect of life, I think.
That's a very common saying in Mexican Spanish.
The other funny and true comment that the police told was "pa que llevar piedras al río si allá hay"... Why do You take rocks to the river if there are a lot there?...
@@MS-ut8fd Also in Portuguese.
I found this hilarious! I shared it with my wife, but she didn't share my sense of humor...lol!
"Sometimes you got to treat yourself.. cause nobody else will," wise words indeed.
She is always on the run. Nobody can get close to her !
@@johannhammann894 She is not on the run, like a fugitive. 😄 I guess you meant she is always on the move, never staying in the same place, for more the 2-3 day, I'm guessing
I treat myself every single day, only way to live 😊
Get through Mexico directly. Don't push it Noraly. There are no second chances.
@@TheZayas55 That's for sure. I hope she don't go missing! Super crime ridden and human trafficking !
I love the extra "local flavor" included in today's video. The normal stunning landscapes on the road are fantastic, but seeing the towns these roads connect is great, too.
The people and culture are just as appealing as the beautiful scenery!
Absolutely! I doubt I’ll remember many vistas, but the young man in Belize, at the petrol pump, who got her some breakfast - I won’t easily forget him.
"Better alone than riding with a bad companion" lol, best response yet to that all too common question you get about riding solo.
He who travels fastest travels alone
Mejor solo que mal acompañado.
Better alone than badly accompanied.
Gabby Petito come to mind
honestly, i think i would prefer to travel alone because then you can make all the decisions yourself aswell as when to pause or go somewhere. Total freedom
I love how noraly consistently posts 3 times a week. This is like a never ending travel show. Awesome content!
But she records only roads and don't visit interesting places.
agreed Aaron
@@RodrigoSahagun the important thing is, i and most people love it
@@RodrigoSahagun I don't know how you can say this. She shows the people and towns that she visits. The road scenery is beautiful, too!
@@RodrigoSahagun That's the understatement of the year,in South America she went up a river & deep into the Jungle & discovered a hidden pyramid. & in Africa, she was just feet away from lions on her bike, & a charging elephant. & Noraly has shown us unbelievably interesting & beautiful places in the world that most of us could never visit in our Lifetime. She has no option she has to go on this road.
For me, the quote of the episode, the 2 policemen at the end of the video, after finding out she rides alone: " Better alone than with a bad companion! ". Wise words.. Wise words 😄
But maybe she's the bad companion. 😆
I don’t know if anyone notice, but when she went on that walk through the market, it was beautiful and colorful. The yellow mangos contrasting with the women orange top and black skirt. The blue background. Then all the beautiful colors of the fruits and vegetables in colorful buckets. Great shots
That's something I've always liked about Hispanic culture, all the colors in everything; the buildings, the clothing, the food, it's all great!
Yeah no sepia effect.... Well except for the bait title
I didn’t notice it because I have a black and white monitor.
No, I think you were the only person out of the 452,000 viewers to date who noticed that. You are so observant, unlike the rest of us unfortunately.
Wish I was at that market right now , for 10 to 15 bucks I could feed myself for a week .
“Better to be alone than with a bad companion “ top tier wise words.
The thing that I realy like about you videos is your attitude. You have the inate ability to laugh at the smallest things to the most troublesome: the sign of a true adventurer.
Heat, distance and just the stress of being extra vigilant has got to be tiring. Chocolate would seem to be almost medicinal! Thanks for taking us all on your journey.
Itchy boots. You amazing I have started following you since you arrived in Latin America and now that you pass through my state of Oaxaca I hope you like it and continue your journey!!!!
You are so brave and so bold to go through those road blocks like you do, I would have turned around and been terrified, but not you. I admire you so much. Safe travels my friend ❤️
“Better to be alone than with a bad companion “ Wise words.
22:12 for those who missed it!
Man, I prefer to ride along, I can go and do what I like !
It was so nice you could stop for a while and tour the town you had stayed in. So colorful and the busy market. I like the way you edit between your front and rear facing cameras. It gives one a sense of the journey and not a lot of chopped up scenes. Cheers!
Turkey = Guajolote/Pavo
Noraly:). We are now where you just met Roger with the chainsaw. I have said, all the way along from season 1, that you have a guardian angel with you! You are certainly blessed and what you’re doing definitely is pleasing to God:). Be sure to thank Him:). Love from NC:)
Hi Noraly, even though you were riding tarmac the scenery was still good, keep safe and look after yourself, God Bless and thanks again for the ride. Being your pillion from my couch is awesome. Hope you can sort out your tyres in the next big town.
I know how much work it is to film and edit. I appreciate what you do, very much. Keep up the great work!
I can't imagine what it must be like to be a trucker in Mexico. How frustrating. It seems like they let them get away with just setting up a road block. It's too bad you can't really do the type of riding you like to do there. I'm sure the weather is playing on your mind and your planning. It's got to be super hot there now. Rest well, Noraly you deserve it. Thank you!
@@RRr-yl8zr I'll bet it is really crazy. Just from seeing Noraly's videos you can see how out of control it is.
@baileyboy73 baileyboy73 I believe you. I've only been to the tourist towns (Hualtulco, Cancun, Akumal, Tulum, Puerto Vallarta and Tijuana). We never rented cars in Mexico, just for that reason.
You are a blessed traveller Noraly. Thanks for making our days that much better. Stay safe.
Love the history, Mexico is where my roots extend to, have always wanted to travel through those parts, thank you for showing them to me and at the same time keeping yourself safe 🇲🇽🥾🏍
Other channels on YT have American living there
I really appreciated the education and knowledge I get from your tour of the town before you ride onto your next adventure. Please stay safe in your adventure through Mexico.
Travelling on a bike sure payed off in this episode. Glad you made it to the coast,it looked like a nice place to stay. Take care.
Very interesting to see when you hop off and walk a bit through the small villages like that. A bit of worn down alleys, a yellow church perhaps and the little market. Town life on the countryside in Mexico, when do we get to see that? I usually don't at least. Just some day before we see beautiful waterfalls, the next day Mayan ruins, then a flooded forrest, then some insane lava filled path that's almost impossible to navigate etc. Thanks for keeping a good mix of things, this is such an entertaining channel to follow week after week.
But unfortunately she is not visiting the spectacular places in that area of Mexico for example the most amazing mayan ruins are in Mexico, and the indigenous towns with their traditions, or the Cañon del Sumidero in Tuxtla Gutierres, or the rivers in fact Mexico is very rich in beautiful places to visit but MIss Itchy is only recording roads.
San Cristobal is not a small village, it has a population of 160k, she only walked around the historical district. There are many interesting places she missed around San Cristobal and also around Tuxtla, she is showing almost nothing of what is beautiful in Mexico. I have been there and it is just beautiful. Why do you travel if not to enjoy the trip? It is utterly senseless not to enjoy the beauty you find on the road.because you are fixated on the destination.
@@RodrigoSahagun Just show us you can do better ; )
@@Teporame Just show us you can do better ; )
@@RodrigoSahagun Some people are just damn miserable, why don't you get your ass on a bike and go show us what she's not.
If your unhappy with her then why don't you find another channel to watch, it's that simple.
Every place I’ve been fortunate enough to visit a marketplace was always a highlight. This presentation of the fruits etc was great. Mangoes and chocolate, how could you go wrong? Godspeed Noraly.
I do believe that you re respected much more because you are fluent in their language. That shows them you respect them as well!
Very nice day of riding despite the road blocks! The churches you shared with us certainly have intriguing architectural features! And the marketplace was very nice! It appeared that most of the children were eating ice cream! Plus, you ended the day in a beautiful beach location on the Pacific. Thanks for sharing another slice of your adventure! Ride safe Noraly !
Yes...the Churches in those Towns were built back in the late 1500's early 1600's when the Queen of Spain wanted to Influence the locals into Catholisism.
Most are built on the native peoples former civilization and temples. It is a record of religions cultural genocide many lands still endure. Nice architecture, for sure. Worth visiting but the true history, natural history is amazing.
@@qzh00k So true . San Cristobal does have some of the old colonial origin churches which attract the tourists and their money and so they are painted prettily and kept up . But what was not shown is that the city is also overrun with hundreds if not a thousand of small churches , or templos or salas de oracion and all sorts of different titles set up in the last several decades as a result of the fundamentalist USA missionaries who have swarmed all over Mexico ,Central and South America . They are an outcome of a form of psychological terrorism from the Colonial era into the twenty-first century which exploits credulous and uneducated native populations . These sects in spite of their allegations of propagating brotherly love have split families, groups, communities one against the other and San Cristobal has poor neighbourhoods , slums really , filled with people driven from their home community by such religious strife.
@@sjoerdbakker6040 beautiful place and a proud people, the history is tens of thousands of years in the making, not a few thousand and that bothers some.
Good others noticed, i have never been to a mexican resort as that's not mexico.
But as she is so scared of being in Mexico she is not traveling to other places very interesting in Mexico for instance in San Cristobal she could have traveled to an indigenous town called San Juan Chamula and visit there the church where the indians practice pagan rituals inside the catholic church.
I have to say Noraly, that you are certainly the expert at getting through road blocks, of which there are too many. I sure hope things go more smoothly for the rest of your trip through Mexico.
As long as she stays away from CERTAIN parts of Michoacan, Zacatecas, Tamaulipas, Sinaloa and Sonora she will be OK
My wife, granddaughter and I watch your episodes every week. Obviously, we love your channel.
We were wondering if you were going to come up through Tijuana, Nogales, or someplace in New Mexico. The New Mexico route would take you on the Great Divide Trail which would be great. The Arizona route would be the Arizona Backcountry Discovery Route which visits a number of historical and geological sites. The California route might take you along the PCH1 route, but there is a portion closed due to a landslide and a bridge that is out the last i heard. Our preference is that you take the Arizona route. Just saying. I don't know about the other states, but you will need an off road sticker and a permit to go through some of the reservations. For more information, check out the route on the ADV Pulse website.
Anyway, we love your channel. Keep up the great work! Keep the rubber side down.
Noraly, I love your adventures, your spirit, and your willingness to share them both with all of us! Your travels are a source of daily pleasure for me! From my heart, thank you!!!
Noraly!!! A pro and experienced rider, a pro at piloting a drone, a pro at editing videos and photos, a pro at communicating with the locals, a pro when it comes to purposely finding dirt roads for fun, a pro swimmer etc... I could go on and on and on about the list of things she's mastered and it will never stop.
a pro at logistics and planning, a pro at navigation, a pro at improvising, a pro at keeping a cool head, a pro at assessing risk, a pro at filtering out people who tell her she can't do it bc it's too dangerous...
And it all sums up to: A typical sporty young Dutch woman. 😁

Goodness…sorry to hear the tire search was not successful, but at least the tarmac got you closer to Alaska by 400k. Hope to see you in a more relaxing area soon…and of course some dirt will be a bonus. The journey continues!
Oh no I read your post before I watched all of the video, so the story was spoilt🤬
Chances are she will manage to find the tires she is looking for has she gets closer to heavily populated areas like Mexico city.
Wow, we’ve followed you all the way from Argentina to catch up on places we missed on our road journeys from Mendoza to Ushuaia & Santiago to Porto Mount (primarily to see Torres Del Paine - which we missed). We’ve stayed with you ever since - love your relaxed but enthusiastic presentation. Your current trip takes me back to Christmas 1986 when I took my company car (Buick 2door laSabre) from Laguna Beach Orange County (USA) across the border into Mexico with another car of friends from Del Mar. We went down Baja to La Paz & back. Coincidentally it had recently rained and the Cactus where in full bloom - Magic!! If you get a chance try a Pacifico beer or three ( USD0.13 cents back then),Eggs Ranchero was our favourite breakfast. Fishing in the Sea of Cortez was amazing - fish were jumping onto our lines, even after we had stopped fishing. We were lucky to see some whales in Scamons (sp.) Lagoon on the west coast - end of season. Gas was scarce, leaded petrol was all that was available - the Buick didn’t like it and tended to continue to tick over for several minutes after turning off. Watch out for “Tequila Vija’s” in Tijuana Bars !!
Don’t forget to check out The ‘Sand Piper’ en route to Laguna Beach on Highway 1. “Dizzies As Is” Restaurant is worth a look in South Laguna. Pacific Coast Highway 101 north to San Francisco is a wonderful journey - Yosemite National and Sequoia national parks are beautiful ( but some fires in the area at the moment. We’re now with you all the way to Alaska !! Enjoy 😀👍
The look on your face biting into that chocolate, priceless!
Great that You found a "Posada" by the Beach early in the day. Good choice..!!
I liked your narration as you walked around San Cristobal. I always learn something new. It's really weird how the road is blocked for no good reason creating all those backups. So good you could get through it all. I really liked the music you played as you cruised down the road - very upbeat. A walk on the beach would be a nice end of the long days ride. Take care.
How do u know there were no good reason!? The community/group protesting must have had some valid demand from d authorities & public support, otherwise d blocks would've been cleared by d police already.
@@NayanJB Just an opinion. What if an emergency vehicle, such as an ambulance, needed to pass in order to save someone's life? Blocking the road and impeding passage could result in the person dying. It seems that for some, consequences don't matter - again my opinion.
@@auralsonicwaves7170 I was responding 2 ur reply abt 'no good reason' I never supported blocking highways/railways, no matter d cause. Also from my experience in my country, d protesters allow ambulances or people with essential needs 2 pass through but general commuters & goods trucks get affected a lot. Not ideal at all but that's d way it is in diverse developing countries with various local issues & complex socio-politics where protesting on d street is d only way 2 get things done at times.

Protesters block the highway and the cops don't do anything about it. Miles and miles of stopped trucks. And then the residents are upset because Mexico's economy is in the toilet. Glad Noraly is showing us this part of the world because I would never travel there to see it for myself.
The habit of blocking roads is the locals only way to protest when treated badly by the local government/authorities.
We have here in GUA as well. It’s annoying but there’s nothing one can do about it when in a car except using Waze to find routs around them.
Happy to see they didn’t stop you.
