    I found that my zebra plant is just sitting on top of the mix. I did repot, but still I can't seem to get any roots to grow. The bottom looks like your babies that you pulled off. What else can I do for it? Thanks

      If I have a succulent that isn't rooting well I'll set it on top of an organic soil, like Magic Succulent Soil (succulentsandsunshine.com/magic) or Coconut Coir (succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-coconutcoir) and keep it damp for a few days. Usually that encourages new roots.
      If not, I'll keep watering the top of the soil every few days and/or try burying the end of the succulent more.

    My zebra plants grow slowly but seem healthy (no brown tips). Right now they all have tall, slender flower stalks.

    Your potting mix sounds like a lot of rock. Is that so?

      @Succulentsandsunshine  Місяць тому

      Yes! 2/3 of the mix is inorganic (rock) and 1/3 is pine bark fines. You can see why I use it and some alternate ideas for well draining soil here:

    Can you reuse the Gritty Mix? Maybe if you clean it?

    • @Succulentsandsunshine
      @Succulentsandsunshine  3 місяці тому

      I do reuse it as long as my plants haven't had any problems. The biggest downside to reusing the soil is it is drained of nutrients. I've started adding worm castings when I repot with recycled soil.
