We just leased the same car, but dark red. We love this car. So much fun, power, stability is impressive, it looks sharp and very comfortable even for us, 6' tall, both of us. The lease was a steal for us. 320 a month, 36 mos, 10K a year, zero down. They had 2 left. The infotainment on it is fantastic, the sound system is way more then enough and impressive.

whats your MPG
@@chocolatewheelchair Our average is approx. 28 MPG. We always charge it at night and we normally ride 70-75 MPH on HWYs. So far, so fun to ride. Can't complain at all for what we pay.
@@alp3781 not BAD but wouldn’t a normal non-PHEV small suv get the same type of millage? I was hoping for like 45 MPG hybrid - do you drive in hybrid mode?

Pretty impressive mpg's. Thanks for posting i like the real world approach to regular driving. Have a slice of Casey's pizza and treat yourself. Im currently unaware of just what it would take for me to buy either the hornet or tonale.

I was looking to see if running the combustion engine for 40 minutes or so would also recharge the battery. It looked like it only added a few percent, probably from just braking. So, correct me if I'm wrong, you still have to plug it in and add $5 of electricity to get the battery back. At $3.50 a gallon, you take add 1.4 gallons to the pump total (dollar for dollar) and it comes out to about 27 mpg. If the combustion engine recharged the batteries, it might make it closer to worth the $10k price bump. I like the idea but am not sold. Sorry Dodge.
Just did my first fill up on my 2024 Hornet RT, I got 34 mpg.

Would be interesting to see in town low speed low miles test like a typical 40 miles commute and grocery shopping day. Hybrids shine in low speeds and plug in option would add more. I see websites saying 77 mpge?
Yes, they say 77 mpge and also on window stickers, epa testing is done differently that how we all actually drive.
While we had the car, charging every night, I drove it to work for several days using no gas. At the end of the week, we were being 63 mpg

That can be done. We own a 2022 Tucson Hybrid. I will do when I get the chance. We are currently buying a new house and will be moving soon. I will do that as soon as we get moved.
I can tell you that we averaged around 30 MPGs in the winter and 36 MPGs during the summer.

does it cost the same to charge the car for 33 miles as it does for one gallon of gas???
It cost me about $1.80 of electricity

Sure, depending on where your get your gas and electric.
But figure that is every time, you save $1.00 per 33 mile charge.

The AC compressor is electric actually, just an fyi.
electric is rear wheel btw the gas is front wheel drive only once you tun out of the 33 mile battery then its FWD only i could use 30 miles in a way way trip seems silly

In that 30 miles, you saved about $4 in gas, do that every day, you would save $120/ month approximately

a lot of people nto reviewing this car right there are huge diffences form teh gas to teh EV version teh ev only does 128 my grandma can do more then that in a 1970 cady
the gas is AWD and has teh 9 speed transmission witch can go over 140+ the ev isa 6 speed capped at 128 thats super slow
Well, considering you can't legally drive that fast, I don't know how the Top speed is significant. The PHEV is about saving gas and better mpgs not speed.
50 grand for a Hornet.... No Way !!
I would just get the GT instead of the RT and no track pack, it's not worth it.
