Nothing more than a cheap gimmick to be putting a nightshade trim, which implies superior performance, on the base engine, the Atkinson 4 with a CVT. It cheapens the trim. $51K to have to listen to that all day. Even worse, the trim isn’t even available with the hybrid max. Lexus at least thought it out better, putting their nightshade versions, which they call Black Line, on the top performance models, like The RX with the 500h.

Hybrid cars are best suited for the modern age. Toyota's hybrid system is the best.

Good test as always. In defense of the hybrid car, fuel economy dips a bit in the colder season - I experience that on my '22 Camry hybrid. Heating the cabin just doesn't come for free it seems. May I ask for other Toyota hybrid drivers' opinion on this? Thanks in advance. (I prefer driving the car neither using the heater nor the AC. If I use either, MPG does drops a bit).

I don't care for the front end redesign although it's not a deal breaker. The rear bumper is absolutely horrible. They took away the triangle rear design cues (which is the theme of the car) and simply squared and rounded it. I don't get it. The white is definitely the one I prefer too although the performance blue is tempting.The black Y spoke wheels are a little too much black on the white car. I would definitely change those out to a similar y spoke except a nice polished aluminum alloy in an 18".

I don't have EN, but the next car is this car. I do have 1.6t kia forte gt manual. I have noticed driving it 75 mph for 10 minutes without tapping the gas pedal, I get better gas mileage. When EN youtuber mentioned the octane learning, I tried that on my car. I don't know about boost bump or hp bump, but I have noticed it gets better mpg. Maybe all ice hyundai/kia cars have driving procedures to tell the PCM what kind of octane gas it got to getter mpg. I have also noticed I have to go thru the driving procedure every fill up. Another notice is after 20k miles, it bumped up gas mileage slightly, so maybe when the EN at 20k or 30k miles, it may get better fuel economy.

Overpriced comparatively, unless you're just wanting a reliable company.

I'd prefer to have $60k to spend instead of $35k too! 😁 EN is more an alternative to a Civic Si, not a Supra, lol... I also have a Camaro SS 1LE and got the EN DCT as a DD. Great car. I've owned Subarus and not sure I'd go for another. The STi had a great trans/awd system but the rest of the car sucked. The WRX was actually better as the whole car sucked about the same amount and expectations are a lot lower, but a sporty AWD car with open diffs is really unfortunate and makes no sense to me. Modern WRX also looks horrible. EN's styling is juvenile, but overall much better looking.

Just bought a black w red interior CX70 phev premium plus. It’s been great so far.I have had it for 3 weeks and haven’t put any gas in it yet.Really enjoying the car so far it’s very tight and the fit and finish superb.

Hmph, guess it's the different conditions vs the cx90 test. Theoretically, the cx70 is a bit lighter, thus should have better mpg

I have a very short commute, so the fuel economy isn't great. I noticed as the weather gets colder, my MPG goes down. Overall I'm averaging 40-45 around town in ECO mode, until the cold weather hit, and now its closer to 35-ish. All in all much better than my old 2004 Ranger!

I think the Subaru is better as in terms of just a simple car plus all-wheel drive an aftermarket support

2023 Premium here. Custom pro tuned. I average 27 in mixed driving but get about 32 on pure hwy at 70 mph avg

It should also be mentioned that the Elantra N is FWD and the Subaru WRX is AWD. (i.e. all wheels have power at all speeds). In addition, the Elantra N has electronic suspension while the Subaru WRX TR does not unless you get the GT model.
