After going through 3 different cutters and finding they were not cutting straight...I finally decided to buy the stamping up cutter, and oh my!!! Have had it for 4 or 5 years now and am totally in love with it. Could not work without it for my cards and journals.

I've had my trimmer for over 20 years and it still works just fine. I use it almost daily. I think it was the third thing I bought when I started this hobby years ago.

Great tips. The first 12x12” paper will be off since the arm was open a little bit. You aligned it with the arm and the top there was a little gap. Just thought you’d like to know for when you go a crafting and notice measurement will be off.
I like to open the arm to my right towards the bottom since I’m a lefty. I like how this trimmer can accommodate lefties and right handed people. I cut pulling the blade down towards me.

Thanks for the tips! I did notice it was off but didn't know why - lol! I love your explanation of how good it is for a lefty too!!!

OH MAN!!! That tear-n-tape hack is BRILLIANT!!! Thanks. I clean mine all the time, especially the grove, but I actually use the corner of a piece of cardstock. LOL. Seems to get deeper in the grove. Love that our trimmer measurements are so perfect. 6" at the arm edge, 5-1/2" along the arm middle, 1-1/2" on the outside edge, they just thought of everything!

For angle cuts Gina K showed how to slide the corner of the card stock in the upper grove and place lower angle in the cutting slot and it does it perfectly instead of trying to get both corner lined up in the groove. I hope I made sense.

Oh! I had no idea what brand this was until I read the comments. I have been to one stamping up party in around 2001. I purchased a few stamps as I didn’t do paper crafting at the time. I may need to find this trimmer! Mine are making the cardstock fuzzy edged. Drives me loopy! I have two, both orange in color. 🤓

Have you tried cleaning the cutting track? Mine does that so Ii clean the fuzzy's out and it seems to help. Also Ive noticed certain brands of paper leave more fuzzed edges aftwr cutting too. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the useful tips on using this paper trimmer. Marking the score tool with an "s" was brilliant. One basic use of the trimmer is to cut patterned paper and use the lines on the paper to know where to cut so there isn't any white paper showing. However, I am not sure what to line the pattern with on this cutter. I also have a Fiskars trimmer and it has a wire that I line up with the pattern so I know where it will cut. How do you do that with the SU trimmer? Thanks for your help.

THIS IS MY Best & FAV Trimmer - I have the original one and the new one, but miss the compartment of the original! Great hacks! Thanks so much...and YES, the score tape trick is super. One thing is found annoying though is that the blades dull so fast - even the titanium ones. So I have a knife stone or you can use emery cloth and sharpen the blades. Seems to work well for awhile. A fine emery board works too - always keep a little emery cloth in the compartment underneath.
