I have the siding clips for all my blink cameras, never had one come off, I'm hoping this one will hold, camera is kind off heavy, but, that might actully help keeping it in place.
Curious to see how it holds up on windy days, but yea if you strike a good balance between the weight anchoring it and not putting too much downward pressure on the clips, it can probably hold up well. Would be interested to hear your thoughts after you have it setup for a while.

Is a monthly plan required? It was to my understanding that you could also use these cameras with just the thumb drive storage and that no plan was needed to use these cameras. I just got a set for Christmas and if a monthly plan is required. I’m going to send them back.
You just need the sync module 2 and a usb stick with up to 64gb storage and you won't require a subscribtion.
Should I use specific batteries for this camera, or can I simply use standard AA batteries available in the market?
Best to use lithium batteries. Other batteries will probably drain way too quickly.
How long do the batteries last before you need to change the batteries.?
Are those batteries rechargeable?
They weren't rechargeable from what I remember. Hard to say how long it would last because it depends on how often the lights are triggered from motion and the brightness setting.
Do I need a sync module to have or use the blink 4 with floodlight

Can a solar panel ve used with this floodlight, and if so, which one?
Hey @tanyarodriguez7014 , there are a bunch of solar panels from third party companies for sale on Amazon, but I have not personally used any of them to confirm which is the best option. I would just search for blink solar panels and see which ones have a review of over 4.5 or more.

I bought the same one, but the lights don't turn on at night with the motion and the motion is activated, do you have any idea what's happening?
Hmm that is strange. When you first put in the batteries and set it up, did it light up? Or can you manually turn on the light to ensure that the batteries are good? If the batteries are good, you can try to turn the camera off or inactivate it, then activate it back to see if that helps. If it doesn't help, I'd reach out to Blink support to see what else they recommend because sometimes a last resort is removing the camera from the Blink system and adding it back. Also, be sure that your settings exactly match mine in the Blink app under Floodlight Settings. If you go under Video and Photo settings, do you see any option for color or light aided night vision that you can enable?
If I already have a sync module do I need to install the one that comes with this?
As long as you have the Sync Module 2 and not the first generation of the Sync Module, you can add this camera to your existing Sync Module 2

Hey @georgelieux150, most likely Blink has updated the app so you have the newest version of it, but the steps and setup process should remain largely unchanged once you go through the setup process in the Blink App by tapping the option to add a new device.
Just installed this yesterday and while the camera is working fine, the motion detection is not triggering the floodlights. When I removed the alkaline battery covers and put the back on the lights did come on briefly; so there is nothing wrong with the lights per se. The motion sensing menu is enabled in the App. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hey there, I would contact Blink support at support.blinkforhome.com/en_US/contact-support because my recommendation would be to remove everything and add it back in the order that Blink recommends, but maybe they have a more effective solution that doesn't require removing and readding all the devices to the Blink App.

What is the thumb drive for?
It's used to save video clips on if you don't buy the monthly cloud plan.
I bought it 2 years ago, and the only time that I see the beams on with just a flash is when I change batteries, they never work by motion or manually with my phone, I have been using the camera only, lights never turn on.
Hmm that is really strange. I would try to delete it and add it back maybe. If you can't do that conveniently, I would contact Blink support here: support.blinkforhome.com/en_US/contact-support and see what steps they recommend to try.

I didn't have any Alexa devices to check this, but you can try to contact Blink chat support. They are pretty good at finding out and answering those questions.
why do you need a USB? I have a regular blink camera (no floodlight) and it works fine. I pay the subscription and it records for me through there
Some of the Blink cameras still require the Sync Module 2 even with a cloud plan. The Sync Module 2 can also add additional functionality (with or without a USB drive attached to it). For example the Blink video doorbell lets you use it without the Sync Module 2 if you just have the cloud plan, but you won't be able to pull up live view at will or at your leisure, you can only see live view when someone rings the doorbell. However, if you have the cloud plan with the Sync Module 2, you can both pull up live view at will and record live view. If you just have the Sync Module 2 and no cloud plan, you can pull up live view at will, but it won't record live view. If you have the cloud plan and a USB drive attached to the Sync Module 2, it will record to both cloud and the USB drive, but if you can get away with just the monthly plan and have full functionality for your specific Blink camera, that's best.

Yep, if you buy the full kit, it comes with the light, camera and sync module 2. If you buy the mount only, then you have to already own the camera and sync module.
@@marcustorres8309 It has an IP65 rating, meaning it's dust tight and water tight, but not waterproof.
Do you need a thumb drive for the camera to work?
The camera will work without a thumb drive inserted, but nothing will be recorded. If you buy the monthly cloud plan from Blink, videos will be recorded even if the thumb drive isn't inserted. Let me know if that answers your question.

@@btripodina70 I believe you have to update the Blink App to the newest version if you haven't done so yet. Regarding the flood lights not coming on, can you take it to a dark room? It won't activate unless the surroundings are dark enough. Let me know how it goes.
What will happen if i dont have a USB?
You won't be able to record/save clips to a USB drive in that case. You will have to pay for a monthly cloud plan to save/record clips if you don't insert a USB drive, but you still need the Sync Module 2 unit.

Yes, it definitely does. If the batteries are good, I recommend that they watch my full video and follow it exactly as outlined to ensure they set everything up in the correct order. They may have to delete all the cameras and the Sync Module 2 and start over, but if they follow the steps in my video it will work. They can also check to ensure that the camera is Armed and not set to Disarmed.

The Sync Module 2 needs to be added first, then the Outdoor 4 camera, then finally the floodlight unit. Can you confirm if they were added in that specific order?

Yep it does. The floodlight is actually decent, but the actual Outdoor 4 camera is stuck in the 2000s with 1080P video quality.
@DemCrumblies I have zero experience with Blink and just made my first surveillance video purchase with Eufy. I am so glad I took the time to research the industry offerings before purchasing. Eufy is not perfect, but it strikes a great balance between tech, capability and price.
Well the research paid off because eufy is one of the best options out there along with Reolink. There's some other brands on the rise too, but those two are pretty established. I started with Blink and quickly realized just how behind it is, but when Blink's products are featured prominently on Amazon's homepage, kinda hard to fail even with mediocre performance.@@Sola_Scriptura_1.618
