    Never saw clear dot 5.

      Kenneth Baker did some research and it appears that dot5 over time as it gets old turns to an amber color.

    Dot 5 is purple

      Kenneth Baker yeah the stuff I put in was purple and I bled the system until I got clean purple fluid. But when I did the test it reacted like silicone fluid does. I wonder if there’s a different type in there

      @@WatsonsWagons DOT 5, losses the purple color, over time. That yellow fluid you pulled out, looks like older DOT 5.

    Going dot 5 in the spare vehicle. Guess the damage was already done though. Collapsed line or stuck proportion valve. Three wheel brakes are not that sweet.

    its not suppose to use dot 5 if you have abs dot 5 is also called synthetic dot 3-4 is hygroscopic mixes with water

    Silicone doesn’t absorb water.
