My situation is tough. I got into basketball in january 2023 around my 14th birthday already. Also, i am Brazilian, and we don’t have great organized sports incentives in school.
Last year i didn’t know how to dribble a ball, now i can do jabsteps, crossovers, between the legs and a bunch of other stuff. My shot is improving a lot too, but i think i just got into the sport too late to have any professional goals. If i had had the incentives earlier, my goal would have been to go pro in the NBB (Brazilian league) or might even the NBA. Thanks for all who stopped by to read. Stay strong and you’ll make it anywhere.

Hey man… I just wanna say if no one will believe in you. I will, you can make it happen… I’m young too. Although I’m 5’8, 19 years old, I still give it my all on the court and I’ve been improving everyday. You don’t have to give up UA-cam videos, I promise there are more sources and examples you can learn from. Just last year I couldn’t even dribble a basketball, now I’m scoring on people twice my size off the dribble. Keep it up and you can achieve anything you put your mind to.

However, I have my goal to become a basketball player, and train myself 2.5 hours a day on a daily basis(4 hours on Saturday and Sundays).
Now what is the issue tho? Height. I am 5'5, but because I train much I am really good and can almost dunk, I am quite close ngl.
I still haven't got my growth spurt so that is something, so I still have hopes on reaching NBA 🤞🏻

To make NBA you have to really excel in high school or college. Try to increase your exposure by playing in higher profile leagues like competitive aau and tournament club teams that are known for good comp. There will usually be more scouts there which can get you recruited or even ranked depending on where you are playing. When you get recruited you have to grind relentlessly to stand out from the college players specifically if you go D1. This is because they all were also one of the best and excelled on their previous teams. So you have to go to bigger measures to to stand out. Usually you need something specifically spectacularly special about your game like very good iq like a floor general lights out shooter or a freak athlete or size. Then either declare for the draft or tryout for a g league team. When you make it do good in the g league and get moved up and sign a partial contract with an NBA team. And if you prove your worth you can be an official player on the roster.keep grinding and I Hope this helps

Ima watch and listen but before I do. How are you qualified to make video on “making it to the NBA” when you’ve never made it to the NBA? I’m just curious.

Everyone who plays basketball is not going to be in the NBA and if they do, probably not be in it for long. But you can change those odds to be in your favor if you continuously work on your craft and do everything you can to be a great basketball player and athlete

It’s also good to find other things that you are good at in case the NBA doesn’t work out.

For some players it is, but nba isn’t the only option. Europa has great competitions too where basketball is almost at the same level as nba. I would aim to play professionally, I say if you are 6,0+ and a above avarge athlete and still young like around 13-15, nothing should be stopping you from making it, it’s all you

Unless you’re a light outs shooter you’re not even getting a call up under 6’2.
Jake Gilyard is 5’8 but he absolutely dominated in college. He probably won’t be in the nba much longer either
