Thats the train from Manchester Oxford Road station going towards Salford by the look of it. But it definitely starts at Oxford Road, it hasn't changed!

No it is not Manchester he is from it is Salford. Birth place of Ian Curtis of joy division and the inspiration for the folk song dirty old town. Salford is just out side of Manchester but the distinction is very important to them.
