I first saw him live in 1983
He was stunning
Reluctantly saw him again five years ago - worried that he'd lost it like so many others
HOW WRONG COULD I HAVE BEEN!!!!!!!
He was utter perfection
He held the room in the palm of his hand for an hour and a half
It was spellbinding
He is the reason why I now write and perform my own poetry
He makes it look easy
It isn't

I love 'Evidently Chickentown' - Pure class, love the rhythm. JCC is a very talented wordsmith. Real people will still be loving this poem in 100 years. Got to be 'fucking' for me btw - so much more zing and impact with it. The whole piece ends brilliantly, last couple of lines. Wonderful.
See this gem twice and have listened to his stuff forever and always will.
