Crazy!! Im going back and watching old videos and it full on winter this year at the same time as this was filmed and 2 years ago you were already seeding already!!!
I clean air filters all the time. They make tools for doing it that work very very well and there's actually some companies around here that have made a pretty penny by cleaning them. You have to inspect the inside of the filter, make sure the pleats aren't coming apart and you'll be good to go. As a rule of thumb I say 2-3 cleanings then replace the element.
For greasing hubs, or spindles your need to pop the metal dust cover off the top/ front and watch the bearing fill.... if you dont you run the risk of pushing the seal out the other side of the bearing, or not greasing it enough. How you have properly greased spindles and hubs without popping the dust cover off.... is magical. lol
Blowing out an airfilter is no good, as you can damage the filter material. It is much better to tap it clean on a hard flat surface. This way you can get more dust out of it than blowing, without damaging filter material. Tap not hard to avoid dents or cracks. Lightly for a longer time will be enough. This way it is save to use a filter for a longer time. Enjoying your everyday video's now Mike ‼️ Greetings from a Fendt educated mechanic. 🔧
Hey Mike it’s Tyler again we talked a couple months ago around January I love that you post a video almost every day hope all is well and have a great day Tyler
As long as you have a inner filter, clean the outer filter all you want, which should be daily during harvest, weekly when planting. The only people who tell you to only switch out filters when dirty are the ones who sell filters.
@@BigPtace it really is a nightmare when they sell ones so thick, we use a road compressor (one of the ones meant to drive jackhammers) to clean really dirty filters as they kick out a lot more air than the workshop compressors or the air on tractors
Engineer say 10 hours They build this stuff Farmer take credit in bank and pay for it Next day ha say i use griss every 20 hour, engineer knows that so they protect equipment in 200%
Those pins on the Bourgaults HAVE to have a grease fitting. I think that's a engineer refusing to admit he screwed up by not putting a fitting the in the first place. Drill and tap those pins for a grease fitting and you'll probably never break or lose one again. But that's just my opinion after 40 years of working on heavy equipment. But what do i know, I don't have a piece of paper to prove I'm smart.
For bearings, u-joints and tie rod ends I want a hand pump greaser so I can feel a pressure change and also stop part way through a stroke. A lot of tie rod ends, a finger poke on the rubber boot tells you if it needs grease or has enough,
Value engineering =$. I drilled and tapped my lawnmower front wheels for grease zerks,I blow out my air filters, and sharpen my blades. Sealed bearings are good for idler pulleys belts, and that is about the only place. Modifications are needed on every piece of machinery you buy. Btw only eat cereal for dinner and twice a year. Breakfast is your fuel for the day.
I was going to suggest you either park behind the trees or behind a hill to block the wind for servicing but then I realized you had neither in the “Bald Ass Prairie” 😂💨❄️💨❄️💨🤣

You can blow them out, just can't be stupid about it. That's why companies say don't blow them out. I've watched people put an air nozzle right into the side of the filter and blow a hole into the filter
Its an AGCO thing, the air filter monitor on his Fendt is on a timer, I also heard that the new range of air filters will have VIN on it which will have to be entered into the job ecm or it will derate, proper money spinner.
@@cornfed123567 exactly. No one thinks about the companies that have to hold warranty on a half million dollar piece of equipment protected by some paper mediums that are getting treated who the hell knows how in the middle of a dusty field. The only way for them to control that variable is to say new filters only.
Try an early 9r we would have to clean the air filter twice a day most days. The John Deere only had one small filter the Caseih at the time that two that size.

Amount of turbos does not mean it sucks more air. You need certain amount of air for given horsepower. Does not matter if its a car, boat, truck or tractor.
Mike, I have a question. When you go to the fields, why don't you bring a maintenance truck with you that would have more parts on it? In case you missed something on your walk-around.
just yesterday you had 126K subscribers and said "your channel will go from 126K subscribers to 1.26 Million" and now for me it shows 127K subscribers... welcome to my luck
DEAREST MIKE, please, for the love of god stop buying new air filters if they plug in 3 days, I cant seem to find the exact one on a google search, but harbor freight sells a very inclusive semi and tractor air filter cleaning kit. Connect to a compressor, this little 4 way air wand goes inside the cylindrical air filter ( and there is even a special cap to go on top and bottom to help pressureize the inside of the filter ) and this 4 headed air want spins in circles inside your filter and cleans it damn close to factory fresh. CHECK IT OUT!!! even if you cant find the harbor freight kit, others make similar. This thing will save you thousands if youre really needing to stuff filters in these tractors that often. Cheers!
Just curious: As far away as your homes are from the fields (occasionally) and as many hours as you work...has anyone pulled a travel trailer to the fields so you can get a few more hours of rest a day instead of driving back and forth? I realize sleeping in your own bed is very nice but I was just curious about that.
Thanks for all the hard work and upload marathon Mike!! I have a couple of questions please?? What is the first language you always refer too? (Excuse my ignorance) Why does Lee sound so English? Hi Mike loving the videos as usual, was wondering would you say that running hydraulic fans or any continuous oil through a motor would deteriorate your hydraulic oil faster than just back and forth in hydraulic cylinder or is it really not noticeable in terms of the oil life?
Normally it just the block & head castings made in mexico! Which honestly are very good! Mike im fairly sure that you blow out your filters & thats fine! The reasoning behind no blowing was, years ago when diesels had dual air filters in one housing, & they were installed w large wing nuts w a gasketed washer to seal the stud, most temp or seasonal workers were told to blow out filters, they would of coarse lose the sealing washers, then try to warantee a dusted engine & the large diesel companies were not having it! Or it was the cheap ass farmer, that would always cry broke, but owned hundreds of prime acres! He would never purchase a new one, blow it out until paper element was disintegrating, after 20 years, then would bad mouth or try to get a 20 yr old engine waranteed that had 15 thousand + hours on it because company did not provide proper air filtering for engine! Which they did! Thats when it was easier to say, no more common sense so no more blowing! Hope you like the answer, if you have common sense, keep blowing! LOL
you can blow the air filters out the mob I work for when I service Kenworth truck every 250 hours because our work is 100% dirt work the air filters sometimes we have to blow them out well before the 250 hours only reason the don't want you to blow them out you can very easily blow a hole in the air filter
