Nice to see you guys getting the facilities to properly maintain your equipment and be able to work in an environment that gives you and your employees the opportunity to do a much more thorough job. It’s funny I mentioned this exact thing last year and consensus was there was only so much money to go around. I guess you found some extra!!! I said before that this should have been a priority as the cost of the way you were doing things adds up in lost time and productivity. Great to see the progress
Different places and different priorities, here in Western Australia sheds to store machinery in has always been a priority. Machinery being left out in the weather is pretty much unseen and unheard of. I remember a new header being bought in the late 1960's, it wouldn't fit in any existing sheds so a shed to accommodate it was built within a couple years of buying it. Weather here is nothing like what Mike deals with either.
Hi Mike, I can hardly believe the difficult conditions in which you have to transport grain. In Belgium, the whole country panics when there is 1 cm of snow on the roads.😂 How is the ice hockey rink on the south farm?
That's going to be a great space Mike, especially when not being used to wash equipment. It can double your workshop space by having another heated shelter to work in.👍
A few fans to get the warm air moving would go a long way to help with a static melt down like that. Im sure your water wands are in by now and this is not necessary anymore.
Nice wash bay! I know u know, but make sure to silicone the floor to the metal interior walls to prevent water deterioration on the inside walls. Very nice build. I’m sure you guys are pumped for it!
A high volume pump is a great addition to a wash bay. Something to wash at 5 Bar pressure doing 200 Litres per minute really speeds up the pressure washing process.
You know, there are ways to prevent ice buildup and/or take care of it after it does build up. I’m talking about the way aircraft do it with forced heated air or electrical heat in certain areas. Also, undersides of trucks could be fitted with panels to exclude ice buildup and It’s all based on how bad you want it like anything else.
Mike, maybe a long-handle metal ice scraper/chopper like we use on sidewalks would be a good addition to the shovel for chopping ice out of small spaces, at least those areas that don’t have hoses or lines running through them.
Larson Farms really enjoy the addition of a "High Volume" wash hose with larger water storage tank to initially knock the main amount of grim off of pieces of equipment.
Brian is electrician,Brian is farm's pilot for crop dusting,Brian has construction company with his excavator, holy crap. Brian is universal pliers of the shop.
Good idea Mike - that facility will be so useful! The hot water blaster will speed things up. Do the highway officials give some leeway for weight of snow & ice?
Surprised to see you say canola is very expensive to grow.. here in SW Ontario its one of the cheaper, relatively speaking crops. No herbs, no fungicides...just seed and fertility.
Are your farms in the Palicer triangle ? Some of my family moved from Ontario to Regina area until the dust bowl they then moved to Alberta and have farmed there ever since.
I would have to get the hot water or steam lances out.......I don't have the patience to watch ice melt!! By the way, are you in access equipment hire or something??
I can not wrap my head around choosing a floor drain that don't have some sort of removable grate on top, in its full length. Like aco drain or similar🤯 I would want something that I could showel out.
The current removeable clean out grate area could be quite the challenge to get either a 5 gal pail or shovel into. Possible the sump is extra deep and they plan to bring in a vac truck to periodically suck out the dirt & grain.
Nice new biulding. A warm place for trucks to thaw out in winter makes such a big difference.

Thanks for the up date Mike.👌🇨🇦

The power of air movement around frozen things is amazing.
MIKE, a couple fans would do wonders for melting that snow up in those crevices just the airflow helps tremendously
Interesting and appreciated! Thanks, Mike!
Great video Mike
A large fan would also help with de-icing.
Holy, desember 1st was yesterday, we're caught up

Volume beats pressure 👍
put in a radiant heater as well mike...we got one in our shop and you can melt all of that snow in half the time
And here comes all of the suggestions . . . .
Looks good
Hello from Australia :)
Hello to you too mate.🙃
Don’t have these problems huh… 😂

Good luck hauling your chickpeas Mike
At 850 to plant 10 acres and the cost of fert when your only getting 10.50 per bushel makes it pretty expensive to grow
You talking canola there Tyson ?

It's what makes family strong, everyone has thier strength 🙂
Today's isn't spelling for Mike, is it my friend? 🤔
Their ???😂🤣😂
@@leddielive no dya is spelling for Mike 😆

It’s supposed to warm up tomorrow so that will help with the ice, then you’ll be playing in the mud lol.
👍
Bonjour Mike magnifique bâtiment agricole pour le laver le matériel agricole et les camions et les remorque et bien équipés 😂😮😅😊
Nice wash bay!

MIKE YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN DUDE !
Winter is just plain nasty , Anything to make it just a bit more tolerable is welcome 🥶
Are your farms in the Palicer triangle ? Some of my family moved from Ontario to Regina area until the dust bowl they then moved to Alberta and have farmed there ever since.
Put a space heater in there as well and get some real melting going
Truck be ice free in 5 hours
Morning
Hey Mike, thanks for the video. Are you sure the air leak you heard wasn’t just the air bags adjusting to the reduced weight from the ice melting?
Wouldn't covering up the open spaces under the trailer help with both ice/dirt buildup and airflow ? Or even just fenders across all wheels.
KARCHER .........🎉🎉🎉
Full fenders would cut down on a lot of build up. Just saying.
Spray suppression technology hasn't reach our Canadian cousins yet.😂🤣😂
