Gwent | Scoia'tael Beginner Deck Guide | Invigorate Starter

- Gwent can be a little bit overwhelming for a beginner. So I'm creating my beginners guide deck series. Today we take a look at the Scoia'tael Starter Deck. For just 360 scraps, you can make a few key improvements to give this deck a little more power. I also go through the key synergies, how to play the deck, and recommend some key Scoia'tael gold cards to craft.
Expanding on their popular Witcher franchise with Gwent, CD Project Red are following the trend of creating their own collectible card game. Players must compete across 3 rounds to outscore their opponent and come out on top.

I just started playing Gwent and watching your beginner guides really helped me so much. I learned a lot about how to better utilize my decks as well as what to expect from my opponents' decks and how to react to them. Thank you for being awesome and helping us new players to get a great start into the game, much appreciated!
+1 - same with me, the way she explained eveything and dummy like me understood, its awesome - this improved deck got me from r30 to r25 (havent played many games) with a score 15 wins and 5/6 losses (lost to much better decks with lots of good epic/legendaries so no biggy)
@Jaggerous - will you be adding Gwent content here on YT any time soon ? would love to watch more
Doing the same right here :) Keep it up @jaggerous. Relly like your content
I recently got back into gwent after a long break and this was very helpful. Thank you 🙏🏼
I was thinking about getting into Gwent and a kind stranger linked me to this video. It really helped give me an understanding into the game and I'm excited to watch more. Thank you for a great introduction!
you explain so good. you actually help me play a card play for the 1st time. like after I watch your guide I really understand what I am doing. Thanks subbed and liked
Thanks so much for this video! I very recently started playing so this was very helpful and I learned a lot and you pointed me in the right direction on how to start crafting my deck. Thanks again for your work!
Hi, Recently got back to playing gwent and I just found your channel, let me say that you are a master at your craft, you even explain what the enemy will do and what strategy he/she will play even as far as explaining enemy effect cards. I learn so much with all your vids and will be using your Mystic echo in the future when I get the necessary cards, for now I just have the basic scoia'tel.
Thank you
It's my day 1 playing gwent, thanks for the tips. I really appreciate it.
Playing gwent again now it is on the iPad. These guides are a really great refresher!
Because of this video, I have a better understanding of the game. Thank you so much.
Watching your newer video on beginner deckbuilding (The game is almost totally different now from when I last played 2 years ago, so I might as well be a total beginner) and then seeing this scoia'tael deck in my decklist, the extra provisions are driving me nuts. I can't seem to figure out what to put in to use the max # of provisions without compromising the critical mass of Scoia'tael units! I'll keep working on it, thanks for making these. Very helpful.
You’re doing the best guides ever!
Thanks a lot!
Thank you so much for this breakdown Absolutely amazing info
These guides have really helped, a lot has changed since I played last
thank you so much for the guide and I'm having so much fun with deck you showed us in the guide keep up the good work
I love this guides. Thank you.
Great video, I have been playing Gwent for a week so far and I'm enjoying it, even though I lose 2-3 games in a row🤣
Took a break and am coming back. These help so much
Very helpful guide thank you very much✨
Thank u so much, u r awesome as usual 😊✌
Super helpful. Thank you!
ey thank you so much
So glad I found your channel. I only wish you had a podcast too 👍
Great help 👍
Jobs a bloody gooden!! Thanks sister
Hm.. I'm trying to figure out which card you swapped out from the Starter deck.. New player here btw
Edit: Figured it out, to those who are wondering.. she swapped the trap cards x2, one copy of the elven card and the bear with the 4 new cards.
thanks man, was looking for this
First of all, love your videos! In this one I would just like some additional information, which cards would you discard from the deck to add the end/best/upgraded cards? 😊
Awesome Deck!! I already have these cards. Total Crafting cost = 0. :D
More Videos please jag
In case of anyone trying this build, I believe Sheldon Skaggs has now been nerfed. I just started playing & I noticed that his deploy ability now is to damage an enemy unit equivalent to the number of boost rather that its current power as per the version in this video.
Yeah there have been some minor tweaks. For northern realms the trebuchet is also slightly different. But overall the information is still very relevant.
Jaggerous Great to know that as well. Yes, don’t get me wrong, your video is crazy helpful provides a lot of clarity on the mechanics, appreciate your hard work.
where is syndicate guide? btw thanks for the guides im playing every class daily rn with improved starter decks
Great video for a newbee like me.. but how is it possible to have this Musher-guy/girl as opponent in all your matches?? Is there something as "challenge a friend"? Anyway: keep it up!
I think sheldon is changed now, maybe an update to your guides would be good content but thanks I still learned something
Excellent video! Yesterday I got beaten very badly by a scoia'tael deck, the self heal and boost mechanics of the opponent went crazy and I got very impressed so I decided to watch your video to understand it better and make a budget deck to maybe have fun with it. In team leviathan gaming website, I found the budget decks article, and the scoia'tael one seems interesting. I can craft it for under 1000 scraps, or your improved starter one for even less. Would you think the website one, a bit more expensive, is worth it? I'm currently "main skellige" but as a beginner I ask myself if I shouldn't try other factions more before deciding what I like best, because, you know, it's hard to say if I like a deck if I only tried the starter ones. Thanks in advance.
There should be some updated starter upgrades coming to the TLG site soon. So maybe start with the improved starter one for now :)
@@Jaggerous I'll definitely try it! Thank you!
Thanks for your advice. Can you or anyone help with this problem: when I use the invigorate ability I have to pick four cards. But, after I do so, the game won't let me play a card, and one gets eliminated! I guess I should use this ability after I play a card, not before? Is that the solution? Must I play an unboosted card first?
Thank you for all the great tips, but I'm a bit unsure of what cards you removed to improve the deck?
take the traps out , and use only one warddancer
Could you please let me know what cards you replaced from the old one in order to improve the deck?
Dragoș Micu I actually just added these, it fit in there, but there's a lower chance of drawing these, I think ( its best to have exactly 25)
It was 2x incinerating traps, 1x bear, 1x elven wardancer. Reasonable cards to pluck out :)
Hello, I just started the game and apparently i have 20k scraps. No idea from where or if this is normal now. Any suggestion for other additions to the deck? And please mention what cards you replace, not just what you add. :D (or if you did Im sorry I missed it:( ) I tried all the other started decks and this one seemed the most gimmicky and fun. Thanks
I challenge you to try a dwarf only deck.
What's that monster card, that appears in the loading screen?
Honestly don't think Francis does a lot in the deck. It's basically taking a point away per turn from Pavko. Also u already have two smugglers which is sufficient. The 8 provision could have been put to better use.
22:47 why herbalist healed-boost 5 points instead of 6?
what bloodthirst means or what differs from deploy?
Bloodthirst triggers on a damaged unit. So if you damage your enemy you have "bloodlust 1" if you damage another card then "bloodlust 2" etc. Its usually on cards with a deploy ability but Bloodlust buffs the ability.
"Haeymay Herbalists" heals 2 then buffs 3 which us why most people use it in "Haegmay Spearmadien" because she damages herself to damage an enemy
God I miss my Mulligan deck.😭😢
I’m a new F2P Gwent player and I’m really enjoying it, your videos are really helpful! Only question I have is how do I spend my reward points? I have around 30 of them but I’ve no idea how to use them, I click on the nodes in the tree and nothing happens :( any help would be appreciated, thanks!
I think you have to click and hold and it has to be connected to the starter node or another unlocked node. I'm away from my PC right now so I can't double check.
Thank you!
Hello, maybe its not best to ask you here but i dont know where at all. I reach pro rank couple days ago, and now dont know what to do. I try other facions(main scoia tel) so i ask maybe u have some tips and advices for someone how want to keep this rank ? btw i really like ur videos and ur echo hybrid deck help me achive 0 rank, thanks and wish u good day, sorry for bothering you :P
You need to be top 500 to stay in. And your MMR is based on your best 4 factions. I recommend finding a good deck for a faction and playing it a lot. You'll get good with a deck the more you play it, which will help you to get higher MMR.
The TLG meta snapshot is a good place to find decks.
@@Jaggerous thank you ☺
I've tried this deck but I thought it was bad because I'd loose every round but I still want to play Scoia'tael
*_
New player here because of android released. Whats the best upgrades with this? And any other leader skills for it?
Great Oak is a really solid Scoia'tael card. It's their best card in my opinion and a good one to aim for. You could also consider getting Figgis and learning about defenders. The other leaders tend to require more synergistic decks. But if you're interested in learning about them I have videos up about the Harmony strategy. It may be a little confusing though as it's not aimed at beginners.
@@Jaggerous thanks, i follow your upgrades in this video and i have a 80% winrate as of now.
Do you still play Gwent Jag?
Monster or scoiatel? What should i get into as a beginner?
I would recommend Scoia'tael. They have some really strong decks which are easier for beginners.
@@Jaggerous Thanks .. Its good to see youtubers like u helping us beginners even on a 5 month old video.... Btw earned ursrlf a sub if that matters lol 😁
Tell me why I had a 3 stack of ads
Is there a deck limit?
The deck limit are the provisions aswell as no more than 40 cards. Theroetically you could have a lot of 4 provisions cards, but why would you ? x)
Would you call this deck Control or Mid range? (Newbie here)
the starter deck looks nothing like this now
is this the deck code? www.playgwent.com/en/decks/guides/16813

I hate this fucking version of Gwent . Why couldn’t they just keep it the way it is in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt? I love that game. When I downloaded this piece o’ shite to my iPhone I was very disappointed. Still am. Smh
hello baby nice to mit yu
