It was really awesome to see your farm in real life. I've watched your videos for a long time, and it felt surreal to actually be there and be able to help turn on the grain elevator and load a truck it's always been my dream to be on your farm for a day and see Midwest machinery and get lunch with you also to meet you and Onyx. Thank you, Zach Johnson
@@MillennialFarmer It's a win-win. You have fun, he's gonna remember that for a long time, and we get a lovely heartwarming open to a video. Everyone wins.
You taking nick and making his wish come true really shows the type of guy you are. That’s awesome. I know it’s far from the same but my sister has special needs and absolutely loves your channel and updates me the minute you upload a new video. Keep it up man!!
Hey Zack! Yes plant right into that light soil. Keep the mmmmmoooisture under the top dry layer. We don't till anything so the wet soil underneath stays moist ! Good luck !
I would say no till into the wheat stubble. Once the heat comes, its going to get hot and with the stubble it will help keep the soil temp down and moisture in the soil.
That last few minutes of the video were pretty cool. Three generations of farmers working in the field together and talking shop. You're gonna be so glad you have all these videos of your family one day when you're old and want to re-live some of the memories. You're doing great work, Zach.
Plant right through it. The wheat gave good tillith, and creates a moisture barrier when left alone. Side note, I would really like to see some uncut footage of Becky editing the recordings. There has to be eye rolls and head shaking!
Always been a fan since pretty early on. Had no reason to think otherwise, but the fact that Zach is a truly kind hearted person and granted this kids wish. That sealed it, my wife and I are fans for life. God bless you and your family and prayers for the lucky kid and his 200mph chair!
I live in rural Iowa and have several family members that are in the AG industry. I have also been a quadriplegic for most of my life and use a wheelchair similar to Luke's. It's great that you were able to show him around the farm and machinery. I also enjoyed my time around my family's farm.
We had a kid from make a wish bless his heart come out to our farm for our harvest it was a heart warming moment and I teared up when the actor that plays the Millennial farmer said make a wish
Awesome job taking time to help out Make-A-Wish. So if you have a wedding venue at the gun range you can have a shotgun wedding in a minutes notice. Good video, thanks.
Fuck yea that was awsome zach and who ever put that together for the kid in the awsome chair that made his year im sure that was so nice and made me so happy
Maybe four decades ago, doctors came out with this kick against salt. Some of us never worked in offices. Lack of salt and electrolytes could kill you and it almost did more than once. Salt tablets were a necessary part of the kit. When you drank all kinds of water and just felt sick, it was well past time for electrolytes. Glad to see some sanity on this subject. Early in the season is when it catches you before you remember.
As always, we should be relying on appropriately trained medical professionals. Not some random company throwing a bunch on money and trendy clickbait words around. 99.99% of those youtube adverts are for questionable products.
God bless you Zach, for taking the time to make lives that little bit better for those whose lives aren't as good as ours. Through teary eyes I say again; "thank you, and God bless".
Great Action Shots this video like watching the machine work up close! Thanks Also at @ 18:00 great moment of seeing three generations working and talking!
Very cool to make that young man's day. So impressive what the electronics can make that equipment do. Bigger, smarter, faster the six million dollar tractor & digger.
I think I'd try planting beans right in that wheat stubble. I never used to think much of it but I see more every year now and the crops look good in light ground like that.
were you ever a private pilot? maybe a printed checklist that you keep in each tractor would be a good thing. You seem to forget how to set things up every year. :)
It put a smile to my face seeing you make that guys dream. Those with mental or physical issues are angels in disguise. Btw for the field you were talking about, you can till it, but the moisture might decrease. Yet again, seeding it straight away might prove beneficial. I know people hate fence sitters, but it depends all on the moisture content in the field and the weather to come before the end of spring.
Zack is one of the greatest UA-cam people known to man. He has a heart that cares for other people which is very cool to see. We need more people like him!! Keep up the good work Zack and stay safe out there!!
Zack, A BIG Thanks for participating in “Make a Wish”! Huge Footprint in lives! As far as the planting idea for the gun range field, try 50/50 planting strategy and see which method wins the yield race?Maybe too many moving parts for this experiment? Just a fun thought? Blessings from Texas!🤠
Nick had a massive smile looks like he had a lot of fun hanging out with that actor guy but being from Saskatchewan Canada where we grow a ridiculous amount of wheat I would say plant straight into it we judge by how dark the stubble looks in the spring yours looks fairly dark and rotted so should have any trouble if we do anything we just hit it with heavy harrows at 10 mph
Go to an rv store. They have a hitch flag you put on the tongue that's held by a magnet. Or, you can install a aftermarket radio deck and logo camera and have it tied into it.
Out here in Maryland we plant right through the wheat stubble with a heavy deer population here it gives some protection on the beans the first couple weeks
You've earned a lot of respect from me, Sir. My older brother is a Make-a-Wish recipient. They sent us on a Disney Cruise (his wish). I can personally attest to how cool a charity it is.
That's my red tractor. Getting the planter inspected. 12th season running the 1770nt with the red tractor. Running the planter with just the 700 monitor.
Thanks for another great video Zach. It was most interesting and enjoyable. Sincerely appreciate your kindness to the Make A Wish young man. Due to the rain at the farm you took him to the John Deere dealer to look at the big machinery. The smile on his face shows he enjoyed that. Thanks again for your kindness!!!!! Good to see your dad again. Always enjoy your dad. Imagine he is anxious to get in the field again with tillage and planting. Thanks for showing us your ground work and how close you are to getting the planter going. Your new tractor and planter will be going soon I am sure. Anxious to hear how you like the new tractor and planter. Really nice equipment Zach. About it for now. Thanks for everything Zach. Take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
6:29 definitely till, we need all the plastic from those broken up around the roots of the plants! We dont get enough micro plastic in the roots of our food sources, be the change!
Yesterday, April 25th, the whole countryside around here in NW Illinois, was a howl of vacuum fans on planters. Nobody in the field today, unless it was prior to 9 AM when the rain started.

Zack, you are the real deal! So nice of you to receive Nick’s wish and take him to Midwest Machinery AND share lunch with him. You rock! 🇨🇦
It was fun having him!

Hey Zack you a good man making a kids dream come true
Great job my friend both you and Nick are going to remember this day. Stay strong and get better Nick Canadian friends 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Zach you are one STAND UP GUY for putting a big smile on that man's face
Just let me say I'm 64 year's old and what you did warm my heart and put tears in my eye's....God Bless you and ur family
I love it when UA-camrs get involved with Make-A-Wish I love seeing those kids being happy
Both my boys were Make A Wish kids. Thank you for taking the time to make a kid smile, it really does mean a lot to the whole family.
You are a good man Zach for the Make a Wish. Nice to see your dad back. Have a good planting season.

Zack you will be blessed for showing such kindness.
Yes! He already IS! For possessing skills, youth (with land "to boot") must SURELY possess, already, a large measure of blessing(s)!

Thank you for giving Nick a day he will cherish forever....
Zach, I think one of the reasons your channel stands out is your willingness to do things like make a wish and other fundraisers.
Not many farmers would take time to make a wish come true for a kid. What a guy, kudos to you Zach!
I would say no till into the wheat stubble. Once the heat comes, its going to get hot and with the stubble it will help keep the soil temp down and moisture in the soil.
Wow, Onyx has grown up a lot in the last couple of years. He's going to be a good farmer.

Zach if that ground is light at the shooting park just no-till the beans in. That straw will help hold in the moisture.
Zack you are so kind to take time to do make a wish at such a busy time for you. Kudos
Zach, that boy will remember the trip to Minnesota for the rest of his life. Thank you for making that dream come true for him!

My first comment ever here. I am watching you for 6 years now and it is the first time you ever will plant corn earlier than we do in germany.
We had a kid from make a wish bless his heart come out to our farm for our harvest it was a heart warming moment and I teared up when the actor that plays the Millennial farmer said make a wish
Fun fact . Here in New Zealand they say the average soil temp for the day is what ever it reads at 9am .
Your dad is the nicest guy I don’t know. He sounds like such a calm and caring man.
Love how the dogs just sit nice in the back of the ranger.
I'm beginning to think he got the 4 door just because of the dogs
HELLO FROM INDIANA! As a 12 year old verticle tiller, i know how fun cultivation is!
Awesome make a wish! Also, Onix's voice has deepened so much from fall to now! He is growing fast!

Great Job Sir with the make a wish kid. God Bless!
I would love to see you plant soybeans right into the wheat field beings that it’s so dry maybe the left over straw will help hold the moisture
Fuck yea that was awsome zach and who ever put that together for the kid in the awsome chair that made his year im sure that was so nice and made me so happy
1:28 you got me right off the rip this video 😭😭🥺right in the feels.❤️❤️❤️
Well done sir!, pay it forward, you made this young mans day. My son and I loves your channel. Thank you
South of you... Not far from the Ethanol Plant...We finished planting Thursday night before the rain. 😊
Thanks for just being a caring human. Cheers

Well done Zac, great to see people in your position giving back. Congrats. I would plant straight in that gun club field, save the diesel. 👍
Plant straight into the wheat stubble. You’ve got row cleaners I’m sure.
That’s awesome Zach showing that young man some cool machinery
Zach you are the MAN for making his wish come true!

Great to see Nick! I hope he got to meet your family and Jim!
I’ve been watching for a very long time. But this, this really says the king of man you are. (As if things before this didn’t)
no till the beans. if that soil is thin and dry as you say, then your going to really like the straw shading the ground
Hi as a farmer in Alberta Canada i would recommend to just leave the wheat field and plant into the ground as is
Very cool to make that young man's day. So impressive what the electronics can make that equipment do. Bigger, smarter, faster the six million dollar tractor & digger.

Awesome with the Make a Wish Zack! Made my day! Hope he can come back in the fall.

plant the beans a little deeper before the corn

that is absolutely incredible what you did for Nick and helping make a wish, you are a true American hero, You are a fantastic person zach
Try a direct drill. You might want to keep the water in the soil.
You made that kids day!! The smile showed it !!
