Everything was shown how to be put back in except the rod set its the piece shown at the top of the video at 29:17 . my question is , my rubber piece to the rod set had seen better days so i had to remove it. Do they sell that piece separate

27:40 Part of idle? Presses in. DO YOU SCREW THIS ONE IN AT ALL OR DOES IT JUST PRESS IN? MINE IS MANGLED AND DONT KNOW HOW TO SAFELY GET IT OUT.

Did you replace the orings on theplastic piece the slide rides on and holds the main jet...if so where did you get them, I can not find a part number on any diagram

I have a question, can you just chem dip the whole carburetor if you don’t have time to take every piece of it off?

Chem dip is pretty ugly to plastics so gotta be careful. You can if float is removed or other plastic parts.

I have 89 yamaha big bear 350, having issues with accelerator pump circuit. It doesn't have the piston type. I need info on how it's accelerator circuit functions. In the bottom of fuel bowl on the right forward plate, engine side is a jet and passage ways to carb. I believe this is the circuit. The air cut off diaphram on the right side of main body is what I think is for the pump action for the accelerator circuit but I do not know this for positive. Any Info would be very helpful.

Wish I had more info to help you. If you can't figure it out, see if zoom zoom carbs have a replacement. Surprised how well they work for dirt cheap.

Mr. Garage after much checking and double checking. I have determined that the jet in the forward upper half of the bowl is for the choke circuit and only the choke. With choke closed no fuel passes through the circuit coming out of the bowl. That leads me to believe that this early 89 model of carb gets its fuel for all throttle conditions from the main and idle circuit. I found that the tube that holds the main jet has holes in it as an emulsion tube has. 2 of it 10 holes were plugged. I have yet to reassemble for testing. If it works then it was the emulsion tube. F it still starves on throttle snap to WOT then I am going to raise the needle to determine its effect. More later!

That diaphram assembly is called air cut off, but I have found a big 0 amount of info on what it does!

The air cut off diaphram, please someone chime in with their thoughts on how this works on this style of carb. I think it does what it is called. Upon deceleration it closes the diaphram and it then pulls fuel into the enrichment circuit so that the mixture is not so lean that it backfires/ pops. For carbs earlier that have no accelerator piston pump its function is also to enrich the fuel upon throttle snap from idle to WOT. MAYBE?

You did find the jet in the fuel bowl, out of the many vids I have watched you are the only one who has removed it or even know it was there! I believe it is for the accelerator circuit but I am not for sure!

I believe that is what it was for as well. Feels like a long time since I worked on this carb, likely because I have worked on so many others!

@@MR_Garage best video out there. Thank you so much. Could you possibly tell me if there are other O- rings any where else to be installed besides the choke, air screw, and seat? Thanks

Yeah... I have a customer that wants the carb rebuilt on an 89.
Hell no. This guy gets an all new Chinese replica carb, or take it down the road. I'll put the genuine jets after cleaning those, but this bike ain't even worth the labor I'll have to put into it. Sat for almost 10 years as well, and I can literally smell it from across the street.
Thanks for posting, even though it seems like it didn't help, it sure did. I'm making the call. Buy a new genuine carb for $400, a Chinese replica for $34, or take it away. The end!
