T.R. Knight was 100% right in his decision. What they did to his character was absolute bullshit, he was barely in the show anymore. They wrote this big storyline with him retaking his intern test and passing it to catch up to everybody else again, and then they basically forgot about him. It was lazy writing and it was incredibly disrespectful to T.R.. He was the reason why people loved George, his acting skills brought the character to life, and then the writers/etc. treated him like an expendable character. And with Patrick Dempsey, everybody ended up reporting that he was let go because he had an affair with somebody on the set - Ellen found out and told his wife (who she was close friends with) and that kinda fucked everything up, especially since Shonda had a "no BS" rule about that kind of thing. Makes sense too, because in Derek's death scene Meredith acts like she barely gives a shit. It should've been a sad scene, but it just came off as boring and felt like she didn't want to be doing it with him. It's possible that the whole story was bullshit, but very unlikely considering everything that adds up with it
Oh damn I did not hear that about Dempsey! I remember hearing him getting paid more then Pompeo and when that changed I thought maybe he didn’t wanna stay. But that’s an interesting rumor. And you think Knight was being punished for coming out during the Dr Burke controversy?
I could not agree more. Patrick may have done something stupid but Ellen could have at least tried to put some heart into it. We all wanted more from her
You're so on point about T.R Knight, right after he took the exam again and bacame a resident they literally forgot about him, he would appear for like 5 minutes max per episode and that was it, just disgracefull. They couldn't even let his character leave for the army (and I thought it's at least a good exit for his character) but no, they had to literally destroy his character trough a horrible accident.
Callie’s character development was outstanding. She had so many heartbreaks and was definitely the underdog most of the time, but never became bitter. She kept a heart of gold. Empathetic, optimistic, loving and hopeful. I was so sad when she left ❤
Yeah she is by far my favorite character on the show. Constantly taking hits in both her personal and professional life yet always has a smile on her face. She always has a positive outlook. She deserved a lot better than to be cheated on by both spouses. I know this show is about cheating and drama but one can always trust Callie to be reliable and straightforward which is one of the reasons she's my favorite. Not to mention she has a kind of finesse in a job of breaking and stitching bones using saws, hammers, nails and other power tools, which is unexpected of an ortho surgeon. The actress really brings the character to life.
grey's anatomy was once so good i used to binge watch the old old seasons and enjoy it now the newer seasons are so boring man, i can't believe that grey's anatomy is still running in 2020, this tv show has been running for a decade! yes, i have seen the newer seasons and the latest season and it's so bad at this point, they should just cancel the series for good, it's about time they do something about it. it's so outgrown now.
Derek's death was by far the most painful ep of greys ever but his character would never have left Meredith, and if he had we'd all be hating on the show.
Idk if ending it on a strong note is possible anymore. The show has really tanked. The end of what greys really was kind of endes after the plane crash but was sealed with the departure of Sandrs Oh and Patrick Dempsey. To end of a true strong note it would have been ending the show with either Christina leaving or Derek's death... At this point it's kind of a mess and a soap opera and no matter when they end it...it will be yet another great successful sho w that went on too long and buried itself. Sad really...
Derek survives being shot and a plane crash, but he has to die FROM A CAR CRASH EDIT: THANK YOU FOR 1K LIKES THATS CRAZY!! EDIT: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 2K LIKES OH MY GOSH!!!! THANK YOU FOR 3K OH MY! 4K?!?!
I feel like Cristina's departure was the one that made most sense out of all of them, it felt right for her character, and it was also the one that made me cry the hardest
Grey's anatomy died when the best original characters left the show: George, Ezzie, Shepherd, Mark, Lexie, Carlie, Arizona, Yung, Blake, kepner and Adison. Even though Bailey, webber, Meredith, and Alex are still there, it's just not the same.
Izzie was annoying. George was to whiny. Derek was a douchebag. Yang was awesome. She needs to come back. Even for a guest appearance. Everyone else wasnt an original character. They were all add ins we grew to love. 🤷♀️ Of course bailey, alex, and meredith are still great.
I honestly can't say that any of the deaths was more sad than the others, but I do hate when characters are taken away as quickly as they're introduced to us, and the impact they have on the Show, especially around Meredith 😟
Watch season 15. Owen has reasons for why he damaged his relationships and it’s explained in season 15 and (hopefully) will be better resolved in season 16.
Madeline Clark he treated THEM horribly?!? Sis what show did you watch? Cristina was mean asf too him through out their entire relationship. He did everything for her and asked for nothing in return. Ex. He wanted a kid she didn’t so he decided that he wanted to stay with her instead of leaving. Same thing with Amelia. She left him at the altar on their wedding day and then came back. She treated him horribly through out their entire marriage too. She told him that she wanted kids and then out of nowhere she was like NOPE I don’t want them anymore and he stayed with her. She left him twice and he didn’t force anything on her again. And she literally admitted to only wanting him for sex
Zanae Simmons we gonna forget he basically wanted to force Cristina to have a kid? Also, Amelia had brain tumor that compromised her decision making. That’s why all that happened, that was literally explained in the show.
pxracy and got mad that amelia didn’t want to have a kid 😂 you think before you marry someone you discus that kind of stuff?? and he did it TWICE. oh then cheated on her with teddy
Mark and Lexies deaths were so devastating. The memorial episode to mark literally made it so much worse for me. They are my favourite and will remain my favourite ❤
I understand why they sent Arizona to New York (to be with Callie and Sofia), but I still don't understand why they took April off the show if she still lives in Seattle and still has a part in the series. She still has a child with Jackson, who's still on the show, and her story with Matthew could've continued, even if it was by way of guest starring, and not being a series regular
Letting go of Arizona and Kepner was a mistake, but the show can survive. Losing Derek was a huge hit, but it made for interesting storytelling. The biggest blow came when Yang left. The show is still fine, but her friendship with Meredith was the the soul of the show. It’s never been the same since she left.
Shonda must be tired of making statements about actors leaving lol. It's been going 15 years, of course a lot of actors have left! I think it just feels like such a big deal because we love these characters so much (I miss George the most)
If she was a good and nice person people wouldnt leave... it is that simple... look at supernatural, the writers are good to the cast and everyone wants to come back and always comes back, Sandra Oh left the show for years and she never ever showed up, even to things that were big for Meredith and she supposably played the character that was her best friend (Christina)! If Shonda was a good person actors like Sandra would have come back even for a guest episode but she never wanted to come back even for that.... And to be honest she hasnt even given the rights to even put a flashback of her to the show, which means she left with bad blood from the show. Dont you find it strange that we never see flashbacks of her or from some other characters? It is clear that they didnt give the rights for it. We saw in last night's episode a flashback from Dempsey's character but that's it, and i bet he agreed for some money for it. The others dont even want that... That's how bad Shonda is!
Meeeee!!!! A year late than this comment but after he died, i barely catch up the series. They did him soooo dirty. Everyone hates on him bcs of some issues but got blindsided by his kindness n naive george. I would be more than happy if george become bailey bestfriend and co-resident rather than befriend with his original housemate. They barely sit and talk with him besides izzie. Aaaa i miss him
Never liked Burke, I was glad when he left. Owen was a much greater love interest for Christina - at least for for his earlier seasons, now he is a mess. Firstly I liked George's character, but re-watching the show recently i realized he wasn't so great...i think he took advantage of Meredith in an obviously vulnerable moment , entered to an obviously premature marriage, cheated on his wife...for a TV show he was a watchable character, but not a great person.... I was heartbroken about Lexi and Mark's deaths.... Also, without Christina the show will never be the same......
I loathe Kepner. Not only is she obnoxious, the portrayal of her being from a farm in Columbus, Ohio is bullshit. Then, when she leaves, then comes back, Owen goes and collects her from a farm in Illinois.
I agree with T.R. Knight. George was dissapearing in season 5. Erica Hahn, Arizona Robbins, Owen Hunt, Lexie Grey & all the new interns were taking up alot of screentime. Meredith, Alex, Izzie, Christina, Richard, Bailey, Derek, Callie & Mark all had major storylines.
Lexa is right. Her youngest daughter had really horrible seizures and there were things with their other 2 children. Grey's was a demanding show with long hours, and she needed to be with her family. They actually moved away after she left Grey's, and I think she only worked on like 2 projects between finishing Grey's and beginning Supergirl. She said that she was being sent scripts still and was trying to decide if she even wanted to go back to acting when she got the Supergirl scrip and decided that she would go ahead and audition. She did say recently that her daughter has been seizure free for a few years now, so I'm sure that helped. Not sure she would have taken the audition if that wasn't the case.
After watching 12 seasons, I realize that life is too short and accidents can happen everywhere. Thanks to Grey's anatomy, I really appreciate doctors who save lives
I know this is an older video but I will NEVER forgive them for how they wrote Alex’s exit!! HE WOULDN’T JUST LEAVE EVERYONE!!! ESPECIALLY JO and especially Mer! He would try to get Izzie back to Seattle! I cried so hard that whole episode not only because Alex was gone but because of the fact that there was no justice for his character! YEARS of character development thrown away in 1 episode!!!!
@@kalynulbrich1015 i figured that much...too sad really... But greatful for the lovely entertaiment the first seasons offered... Trully captivating💘💙🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
i miss the cast from like seasons 6 - 9. most of the best characters were in these seasons and although we now have some of the amazing characters like Amelia, Maggie, Link and etc, it just isn't the same without the original cast.
I only pray that Arizona, Callie, April and Addison come back at some point as recurring or regulars. And for the final episode of the series, Izzie and Cristina could return as well.
KEPNER AND ARIZONA'S FIRED WAS THE WORST DECISION EVER. Especially Sarah Drew... Her character was on the progression. She got the best character development. Her acting skills were excellent... God sake she gave premature birth after dead-baby birth scene! Who the hell could afford such a thing like that?! Shooting scene like that?! And Jessica Capshaw also pregnant during the season... Both made great sacrifices. And they fired for what? Nothing... Salary?... It was the worst decision. Including me, most of fans (i mean really most of fans) stopped watching show after they left..!
I missed my favorite characters so much I started to rewatch the entire show from season 1. George, Derek, Mark, And Lexi’s death hurt me like I lost real family members.
Cristina leaving is still heartbreaking, I didn't ever care for Derek (Amelia is a far better Shepherd), but losing Arizona and April at the end of 14 was awful. I wasn't even a huge Kepner fan, but Sarah Drew's acting in season 14 was nothing short of magnificent, and Arizona was by far one of the best-written characters on the show. If Karev, Bailey or Webber depart before the series ends, Ima have some words for Krista Vernoff.
@@hannahswets3578 I always thought he was kind of an ass lol. I thought the episode he died in was really sad, because it was sad for all the other characters, but in terms of missing Derek? Nah...
@@htconexify I'd have to disagree. Yeah she had her whiny phase, (so did Meredith, Izzie, and Callie) but I think she's a really dynamic character who's added a lot to the show. I love her struggles with addiction, her relationship with Meredith, and I think she's far better for Owen than Cristina was. (I love Cristina don't get me wrong) Her whole storyline of dealing with Derek's death has been one of my favorite storylines of the later seasons. Her and Edwards made a great duo as well.
I was gonna be so happy when Burke and Cristina were going to get married cause it would be like the one relationship which didn't have endless problems. It really disappointed me when Burke left- it just felt totally out of character in the plotline. I feel like they could have made some obstacles in their relationship after they got married. It was just totally unexpected.
To me the show lost a big part of my interest when Cristina left, I mean, I wasn't disappointed with how her story "ended" because it did fit her character but after she was gone it just wasn't the same for me. But in a way I'm also glad Sandra Oh decided to let go on her own because grey's should have ended a long time ago by now, they're REALLY dragging it. It's sad because it used to be such a great show.
I personally think by choosing to kill pretty much every main cast member that wants to leave has destroyed Grey's Anatomy, leaves no option for return. It's really hard to stay invested in a show when most of the original cast have left and most of the cast that replaced them have also left. Shonda doesn't know when to end things.
Wow.... Sacrificing Arizona and April for Meredith..... I love Meredith, but Arizona and April were the spunk of the show. Now, there's absolutely zero spunk. Bring them back... Maggie just isn't cutting it for me.
this video honestly just made me sad thinking of all the people that left i really miss the old cast which makes the newer seasons kind of hard to watch because it’s changed so much...when Christina left i really could barely watch it I didn’t really enjoy season 13 for some reason but I might start back watching it
I've watched Grey's Anatomy since day 1 and it's still a great show. I miss all the actors that have left the show, but I look at it in the way that if they were all still on the show, then it, in itself, would've gotten boring faster...same characters being the same people on the show. And, even though I miss them, with every new actor comes a brand new story line, Grey's wouldn't have been the same without the changes throughout the seasons, we would've never known half the actors that we've gotten, then lost on the show, so look at it as a new adventure. I also watched private practice, I thought it was good also & I like station 19 a lot, but do feel that Jason George's new character on it is a little lack luster, hopefully that'll change soon because he's a great actor & deserves a bigger part on station 19.

Damn I didn’t know Patrick cheated
The show sucks after they killed off all the best characters
I agree wholeheartedly.
Nahhh
AGREED. lexie, mark, and dereks deaths hit the hardest. also callie and christina leaving was just :(
andrew gaming bro YES BROO
grey's anatomy was once so good i used to binge watch the old old seasons and enjoy it now the newer seasons are so boring man, i can't believe that grey's anatomy is still running in 2020, this tv show has been running for a decade! yes, i have seen the newer seasons and the latest season and it's so bad at this point, they should just cancel the series for good, it's about time they do something about it. it's so outgrown now.
shonda doesn't seem like the best person when it comes to communication.
Am I the only one who feels that Lexie’s death was so rushed
Yes!
You're not alone bro ✋😔

Literally every death is lmao

You spelled O'Malley so wrong
And Stevens and Karev. You forgot. They are the OG 5.
grey, yang, o’malley, stevens & karev
Derek's death was by far the most painful ep of greys ever but his character would never have left Meredith, and if he had we'd all be hating on the show.
nah I hated him i was glad he died I hope he’s dead forever irl too he was shit
xXxTen17 GLO that’s like a crime against Grey’s Anatomy
I still cry when that ep comes on.
Derek was awful. Like he literally couldnt stand to let meredith shine. She been better since he got killed off.
xXxTen17 GLO imagine wishing death on someone.
These were the people that really made Grey's, Grey's. The show is lackluster and Rhimes should consider ending the show on a strong note.
Na Justin chambers is leaving
GA got bad after Cristina left. Krista Vernoff has turned this show into what feels like a horrible teenage drama.
on god
Derek survives being shot and a plane crash, but he has to die FROM A CAR CRASH
EDIT: THANK YOU FOR 1K LIKES THATS CRAZY!!
EDIT: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 2K LIKES OH MY GOSH!!!!

IKR LIKE SHOULDVE GOT HIM THE HEAD CT
I cried so much when Derek and Mark died..... Especially Derek😭😭
I feel like Cristina's departure was the one that made most sense out of all of them, it felt right for her character, and it was also the one that made me cry the hardest
It kinda broke my heart when Sandra Oh left
Are yes I got very upset. But at least she didn't get killed off. she left in a good way
Sloan is the most underrated character
Grey's anatomy died when the best original characters left the show: George, Ezzie, Shepherd, Mark, Lexie, Carlie, Arizona, Yung, Blake, kepner and Adison.
Even though Bailey, webber, Meredith, and Alex are still there, it's just not the same.
Izzie was annoying. George was to whiny. Derek was a douchebag. Yang was awesome. She needs to come back. Even for a guest appearance. Everyone else wasnt an original character. They were all add ins we grew to love. 🤷♀️
Of course bailey, alex, and meredith are still great.
Destiny D. This is so false imo
Destiny D. Derek was a good guy
True
BLAKE??? NOooo
Katherine Heigl was so right about that. So so right. We owe her an apology.
i would totally want Sara Ramirez to come back, even for couple episodes
Everyone’s mad about Derek dying but nobody is sad about George dying, the saddest death on the show
i’m team bus 🤷🏽♀️
George was my favorite character, Derek my second
I honestly can't say that any of the deaths was more sad than the others, but I do hate when characters are taken away as quickly as they're introduced to us, and the impact they have on the Show, especially around Meredith 😟
I really miss the original cast that departed.
cristina yang is the greatest character on this show. the show started going downhill after she left
i wish owen was gone. he’s treated every woman horribly and has had little to no character development.
He treated women horrible? LMAO are you all gonna act that Amelia was not a total ass to him the entire season 14?
The only thing wrong with letting go of Arizona is that it didn't happen sooner, she should have died in the plan crash.
Burke's leaving made me fall in love with Christina.
I miss izzie and Christina 😭😭 and Sloan Lexi George and Derek lmao
Who else ABSOLUTELY loved O’Malley?
frrrr meeee
Meeeee
Aaaa i miss him
Y'all didn't talk about Jerrika Hinton's character, Edwards, departure.
va4life I’ve noticed that. They never talk about why she left ... 🤔🤷🏻♀️
Maybe she just quit or maybe they didn’t talk about it because she was only an intern. If I’m correct
iluminatig_ 19 she was a resident already when she left. But who knows 🤷🏻♀️
@@giannaportillo9725 She wasn't an intern at that point. She was a resident.
I actually grew to like her too. But I don’t think she was as important as the main characters.
I never imagine Christina Yang would leave. Her and Meredith were there from day 1 and i thought they both would be until the last episode.
George’s death hurt me but we still had Yang... then she left.
I officially stop watching the show after Yang's departure.
Yang's departure was a game changer
Still hurts when I remember Derek and Lexie, and I really miss Addison
Mark’s death hit me really bad. Still haven’t forgiven Shonda for letting Arizona and April and for breaking up Japril!!!
I haven't seen the show since Arizona and Kepner left.
Same
@@leximustdie who said anything about being a real fan?
I wish I had the strength to stop too, but I love it too much. I'm still watching it, but every episode is painful because there's no Arizona
I’m still watching but it’s hard to watch without Arizona
Didn't Chyler leave because she wanted to be with her family more, I know that her daughter suffered from seizures so I suppose that's why
Lexa Sara Danvers isn’t she in supergirl rn?
yes
I think at the time she wanted to move on and do better things.
I'm pretty sure she wanted to be in more things so like after that she went to supergirl
Patrick Dempsy: It's hard to keep the storylines intriguing after 10 years
One Piece: Hold my beer
Realty show vs anime lol
Christian Quiñones not a reality show
@@BrettReynolds55Grey's is basically a reality show....🤨

@@chrisspoohbear8903 NCIS is trash and annoying as freak.
YEARS of character development thrown away in 1 episode!!!!
when shonda said she was gonna go in a different direction with callie my brain said “SPIN-OFF WITH CALLIE AND ARIZONA IN NY!!!”
that would actually be kinda interesting! like a spin-off based on fetal surgery with the help of Nicole Herman
@Hudson Donald yeah but private practice isn't what i was talking about, plus it's just an idea thrown to the wind
They really took off the best actors 😭
Cristina left so is GA having a trip going downhill. WE NEED CRISTINA YANG BACK ON THE SHOW
But killing eve is amazing
I miss Christina Yang so much. She was my favorite from the beginning
Killing eve is pretty good. Definitely different but still worth it to check out.
Harith Ramzi she was the funneist
I agree. Alex is not as good of a person for Mer as Christina was.
I blame Shonda for everything. She must be difficult as hell!
Idk how I'm going to feel about s15 without Kepner and Arizona.. so many changes.. it's not the same show anymore.. 😔
I still can’t get over Georges death, I grew so attached to his character
When Meridith was crying for losing Lexie that was one of the saddest episodes!! Poor Lexie 😭
this show is absolutely nothing without the original cast. There I said it
After the 6th season i was out.....the first seasons were THE BEST!!!
Karen Cristina Concepción EXACTLY
I left when it started getting political. I just want to be entertained, leave politics out of the shows.
Your not missing much.
@@kalynulbrich1015 i figured that much...too sad really... But greatful for the lovely entertaiment the first seasons offered... Trully captivating💘💙🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Karen Cristina Concepción i mean Alex is still there along with Weber and Bailey. but that’s about it. Alex has grown up and changed a lot. but yea
i miss the cast from like seasons 6 - 9. most of the best characters were in these seasons and although we now have some of the amazing characters like Amelia, Maggie, Link and etc, it just isn't the same without the original cast.
I only pray that Arizona, Callie, April and Addison come back at some point as recurring or regulars. And for the final episode of the series, Izzie and Cristina could return as well.
addison and Arizona will ALWAYS be my favorite throughout the whole show
What about Jerrika Hinton (Dr Stephanie Edwards)?
I forgot about them.
Yo! That’s all of main cast members that “left” the show...
I missed my favorite characters so much I started to rewatch the entire show from season 1. George, Derek, Mark, And Lexi’s death hurt me like I lost real family members.
Sarah and Jessica has iconic episodes that i will never forget in my life❤️
Arizona and April being let go was WTF moment! They're my faves!!!
Woah woah woah you don’t like Derek he’s one of my favorite characters
Wtf Amelia is literally the most annoying character in the show
@@hannahswets3578 I always thought he was kind of an ass lol.
Mustafa Manya since she had the tumor removed I liked her much better
I know Burke was bad for Cristina but besides that I can’t really think of a reason to hate him. The best cast was season 5-8 btw.
Burke wasn’t really a character without Christina imo I didn’t hate the character but there was no reason to like him either 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah...I'm a surgeon...but I really want to be a paramedic...right.
Yes...right..
Everyone is not the same! And he's not a paramedic. He's a fire fighter. People have dreams...support them
🤣🤣
To me the show lost a big part of my interest when Cristina left, I mean, I wasn't disappointed with how her story "ended" because it did fit her character but after she was gone it just wasn't the same for me. But in a way I'm also glad Sandra Oh decided to let go on her own because grey's should have ended a long time ago by now, they're REALLY dragging it. It's sad because it used to be such a great show.
I stopped watching it for awhile when everyone seem to b leaving left and right, but I’m back into it now, it’s pretty decent!
I miss Addison and Mark still. :( They both were one of the best of the original cast for me.
Arizona and April should've stayed. Their stories weren't over yet.
April...YES! Arizona....NO!
@@KizzieWiz YES ARIZONA
The way April got written off kinda annoyed me tbh i grew to like her and then they just send her off with Matthew 😩??
I was actually hoping April and Avery to get back together..
@@user-lu4xp7iv8c Factsss 🤦🏽♀️
Season 10 was when it all started going down hill..
Lexi and mark were one of the saddest deaths but I liked the way they left together. Dericks death still upsets me I was crying so much.
Chyler and Eric were the most heartbreaking deaths hands down. Dereks was sad but I started the series way late and knew it was gonna happen
i see A LOT of actors/ actresses wanted to leave the show.. I MISS ALL OF THE OLD CHARACTERS, IT'S NOT THE SAME ANYMOR!
Grey's anatomy was never the same after the departure of George, Izzie, Derek, Alex and Yang.
shonda is like the hitler of tv shows. if someone says or does something she doesnt like, zhey are gone and never be seen again
omg😭 when april and arizona left, i was heart broken 😭
Izzie is forever my fave character! And I miss her soooo much! She was like a sunshine of the show . Katherine is so talanted
i LOVE greys anatomy but it’s just not the same anymore and i genuinely miss the old greys
Nana Banana I agree. I hate Maggie’s character! I have since day 1. She just doesn’t fit to me
April was shit ...
this video honestly just made me sad thinking of all the people that left i really miss the old cast which makes the newer seasons kind of hard to watch because it’s changed so much...when Christina left i really could barely watch it I didn’t really enjoy season 13 for some reason but I might start back watching it
I miss Cristina and Izzie =´(. Bring them back, please! #bringthemback
I miss the original cast of Greys Anatomy...just finished watching sn 15..it did not captivate me at all..
Wonderful , detailed information on the cast of a great show whether they are past or present cast members.Very interesting to know something about each one and their lives.
Mark and Derek are my favorite characters, and will always be my favorite characters
