Guys it's 10 minutes walk after a meal, NOT 10 minutes after a meal and then walk. I think Dr Berg is referring to the 2016 study which I will copy and paste here: A 2016 study in people with type 2 diabetes found that light walking for 10 minutes after each meal was superior to walking for 30 minutes at any one time for blood sugar management.

Walking at night after dinner helps improve mental health in general, as the summary of the day's thoughts and events revolve in the mind while walking, which leads to emptying the mind of any tension and thoughts before bed, and thus sleep easily and without worry.

I have been "between jobs" for a couple of years now. This gave me the luxury of walking for an hour (3miles) every day on my own schedule. Starting a new full time job tomorrow. The plan was to walk during my lunch hour. Not necessarily ideal. Since my OMAD will now be shifted to later in the evening, walking after that might just solve the scheduling dilemma that was troubling me. Weather permitting. Thanks, doc!

This was a hard habit for me to adopt. I'm constantly active with 20K steps per day, full body lifting 3x per week, formal cardio, daily stretching, etc..
So when I do eat my 2-3 meals per day in a 6-8hr eating window, all I want to do is lounge and relax after each one. I don't want to add even more movement to the extreme amount I already do.
But 10-15 min walks right after each meal has helped a TON with digestion and staving off the massive bloating that comes from larger meals. So now it's become a staple for me after eating.

Dr Berg.. All of my life (now getting closer to 50) I thought it was normal to feel foggy, cranky, weak when hungry before meals… then I got labeled as pre-diabetic and with fatty liver… lost some weight and cut sugars and somewhat improved.. but your videos made a HUGE change… IF and Keto (even a “soft version of it) have made a tremendous change in my life. I’ve lost the fat around the liver (ultrasound confirmed), my liver numbers are in good shape and I no longer feel as I described. In fact, I can go for a number of hours without eating and I can function properly!! Thanks so much! I wished IF and keto had been known decades ago.

I was suffering from digestive problems all in my life from my childhood. Tried all the diets on the planet to control my weight none of them worked. Only way I could control my eating habits with smoking which I knew just makes everything worse. I was depressed tired and feeling alone with my problem.

What intensity should we walk with?
I started walking after lunch for 30 minutes in a medium rhythm, but I stopped since after eating red meat I suffered from spontaneous diarrhea that day a few hours after having lunch.
I walked at 6km/h straight after eating for 30 minutes.
I’m now walking BEFORE my lunch instead. I read/watched somewhere else that it can cause problems to walk AFTER lunch.
Wondering now which intensity to apply to a post meal walking routine, since that it might have been the cause.
The stomach and gut requires lots of blood flow during digestion.
Thanks Dr, even though my diet is Mediterranean and I’m not considering to do Keto, your content is of a good quality generally. I enjoy your posts about nutrients and vitamins. I've had insulin resistance for quite some time, years. I never could seem to lose my weight and I always tried different diets and eating certain foods, but it just only would do a tiny bit and then I'd gain it back. I saw your videos on intermittent fasting and also not eating any sugar/carbs. In my first week, I think I like 3-4 pounds and I'm currently in week 2 and don't feel bloated at all and still losing the weight gradually. It was very tiresome the first week with my body changing, but it's getting easier and I actually sleep deeply now. Thank you for your suggestions Dr. Berg! For meals, I literally just replace carbs with broccoli or cauliflower and I get full, plus tons of nutrition from it.

That brings back memories when I was a kid on the farm, After supper mom would say let's walk our supper off now and we'd go to the pasture and get a head count on the cattle all the time.

In our home even kids sometimes walk after eating a heavy meal. Of course they learned it from their grandparents and elders. How did we come to know this, well once my nephew was walking around the room, when asked, he said he ate too much 😄. We all laughed and appreciated his actions.

Interesting to me because I walk every morning for 2 hours (have for around the last 8 years).. Generally 6 to 7 miles depending on my pace.. At age 77 I'm 6'2 and 160 lbs...maybe I should get out after eating in the afternoon (20/4 intermittent fasting) for a 30 minute walk for it's benefits
