I have lived in North Carolina my whole life and lived in Asheville a few years ago! The Blue Ridge Mountains are my favorite place in the world. Congratulations on your marriage, you could not have picked a better place for it! Also, really inspired by your process and enjoyed this video thoroughly.
You're such a talented artist. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for helping me with my painting. I am going to become a patreon of yours because I just starting painting and you're an amazing teacher. 💜🌌💜 Painting is so theraputic I struggle with mental illness as well and wish you the best in life.
I couldn't agree more about the Asheville area mountains. The parkway is beautiful. Also, Interstate 26, from Johnson City, TN to Asheville, NC is one of the most majestic highways Ive found.....especially around Sam's Gap. Beautiful rendering. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful. I want to try painting with oils so bad, but the cost of getting started is prohibitive. I’m a watercolorist so I would have to start from the ground up. Something about the creaminess of oil paints intrigues me, the ability to blend and work from dark to light if I choose to, and obviously the open time, yeah, I would love to try it. I better start saving my pennies. Well, maybe my quarters, lol.
Maybe you could try gouache first. It has the consistency and opacity of oils, but they're water based, so they're almost a mix of oils and watercolour. Gouache is also a lot cheaper than oils, so you could try it to see whether you really enjoy working with thicker, more opaque paint.
E. R. , I have Gouache. Both regular and acrylic. The problem with those are they dry so fast. Gouache can be reworked, but I don't think it's the same. Thanks though.
Amy Holsten , I've thought about that, using a medium with my Acryl Gouache, I don't have regular acrylics. Somehow that doesn't resonate as much as thinking about painting with oils does ☹️
It's definitely not as romantic, but it gets the job done & (in my opinion) is fairly easy & inexpensive. That's all relative, I suppose. Whatever medium you choose, best of luck & don't be afraid to just try things!
Bob Ross showed me how to paint mountains. I have more happy accidents than anything else, tho. Luv watching your paintings come to life, beautiful work.
I am new to your channel and you have inspired me to try oil painting. Thank You for your videos on how to mix colors and why you use glass etc.. I am so new to painting and I am loving the journey. Thank You for all what you do . Your work is AMAZING!!!! I hope someday I will be half as good as you!!! This is such a great hobby adventure for me and at fifty one I never thought I would be trying a new hobby like this. It's just so much fun!!! Thank You for all your inspirations!!!!
Stunning. Mountains give a person a variety of choices, valleys, peaks and gorgeous meadows. I was born and raise in the foothills of Colorado and spent most of my youth in them. Now I long for the beach. I would join you for Oiltober, as I have a few grandchildren to do work for, 13 total, but my plan is to use a variety of mediums, so it would be Oilwatcrylcoalber.
I love your new balayage hair! And of course this painting is flawless per usual for the channel! My husband and I married last year in the beginning of August and we now have 2 beautiful baby boys. That said I don’t get to paint often anymore but i love when you post so I can live vicariously through you when I get 10 minutes to myself :) congratulations on your marriage btw 🥰
This is an amazing painting and coincidentally, I live only an hour away from the base of the blue ridge mountains and my family and I go there sometimes to visit. They really are beautiful.
Dang it’s been a while since I’ve seen one of your videos. I remember finding you, like 8 years ago lol, and watching all your videos for so long. So glad to have found you again, been a couple years. Congrats on getting married! So glad to see you still painting and making videos! 💕
All of your paintings are amazing and your videos have helped me a lot . Thankyou lena ❤️ I have just started started my UA-cam channel and you are my inspiration. Love from India 🇮🇳
Omg so beautiful... looks like where I’m from! Love watching you paint and learning... I’m new to painting and absolutely love it! Keep posting your AMAZING work.. thank you
Thanks, great video (and painting!). I love your explanations as well, very clear and informative. I can see that you put a lot of effort in filming, editing etc it all looks so easy, but I know all about messing with batteries, full memorycards, forgetting to push record, stumbling over tripods, crashing computers when editing😂. Good job👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Omgggg so im watching this because it reminds me of home which is north Carolina ( i moved to texas a couple yeats ago and miss the mountains like crazy) but i had no idea that what you were painting i love this so much❤
Lol, good on you for going for Oiltober! I always get so pumped for Inktober every year, then by like 6 days in I remember how much it stresses me out, drag my ass to the end, and spend the whole of November avoiding ink in every form xD
Love the painting. I'm in the same predicament you are.. I live in the Netherlands, and it takes at least a 3 hour drive before I get to any kind of articulation in the landscape at all. The Netherlands is a flat as a pancake! lol..
Wow, this is crazy timing because I've been wanting to do a painting a day! I might just join you, but I may do it with acrylics instead! I'd probably lose my mind if I tried doing it with oils haha Let's do this!!!
Loving your hair. It's very becoming on you!! Far out thinking: Have you ever done and underpainting using tea or coffee (eastern culture painting technique)? I have seen other people do that and it comes out looking just the same. When you paint during the day how may hours do you paint for?
Love the piece! Can you do a video talking about your dress? I saw on ig you made the design yourself! Can you talk about that? And show the full dress, I couldn't see it properly on your story, but I love what I did see!
You are such an inspiration. Quick question, do you stretch your own canvases or do you buy them? Also, what are your thoughts on painting on wood panels with oil paint? ❤️

This is where I was born and 13 generations of my family. Fav place. Beautiful painting!

Beautifully done, the values of the colours are the secret of this painting, thanks for showing us.
Mounts on her paintings:realistic and beautiful
Mounts on my painting: just a triangle with half sun and V-shaped birds
Some people are beach people... I'm a mountain girl for sure! They are just so incredible. Love your painting and the cloud shadows!
I love your process. Can't wait to try it myself. And too, I like mountains. Thanks for sharing. :)

What about acrylic paints with a medium that slows the drying time?

Great tip on the under painting, I am a noob and I never thought of mixing my colors before hand.

Bonita composición... has conseguido crear la profundidad que requiere una naturaleza de este estilo.
Por cierto, brillos labiales hipnotizantes 🌹
I like the background as you talk about your Blue Ridge Mountains in Ridgeville North Carolina.
Oiltober sounds so much better than inktober 😋
