I would take that a step farther and say that Andrew is the one instructor on YT who I view as the ultimate professional. His skill and knowledge confirms to me that there is no cheap shortcut to true art. Yes, there are "techniques" that people can use to create quick paintings or drawings that "look" nice, and that they can then proclaim themselves as "artists". But in my opinion, TRUE professionalism comes from a lifetime of learning the craft; understanding the infinite dynamics of painting and drawing to a level beyond the casual tinkerer.
I liken it to this: If I strummed a guitar and learned a few chords, or even played a whole song through, I may THINK I'm a guitarist, but I'm not. Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Paige, Joe Satriani, et al, are true artists of music and I could never match that, or come close, without spending a large portion of my life learning the craft of playing a guitar.
      Just my thoughts.

Andrew, your such a jokester, your "Study" is 10 times more detailed than my finished works and I suspected separated by ability level. You don't just see the landscape you paint, you understand it and breath it. This study can easily go into an exhibition as is and as a complete painting in its own right. This study is why I have said before that you are a modern master whose work will be hailed as genius in centuries to come. Remembered and studied for all time and ranked next to the masters of old. Superb work of art.

OMG this so-called "little study" is gorgeous. I love the looseness of the brushstrokes in the foreground grasses which prompts the viewer's eye to read the whole painting in a looser more 'painterly' style. The softer tone in the background and the well placed bits of detail in the foreground really hold the scene together beautifully! Pretty tricky Tisch!😁 One of your best and most inspiring tutorials! Thank you for sharing!

Your paintings are all lovely. I appreciate your style of painting as most artists do not use this detailed method for realism. Some go as far as criticizing this style saying it is imitating a photograph. I think that the detailing only makes it better and more beautiful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and techniques; this makes you very special as well as a magnificent teacher; many experts keep their knowledge to themselves. I have never tried oil painting; usually using acrylics, but you tips are valuable and can be applied to other mediums. Best wishes from Puerto Rico!!
