I teach high school math in Anaheim. During Covid, I play music before my virtual classes on "Thrashing Thursdays." This tune is currently playing. \m/
Oh yeah!!! I remember this oh so well!!! I remember buying this casette...yes a casette tape to you all non-generation Xer's. I also remember recording this video off Headbanger's Ball on to a VHS tape!!!:-D Yes, a VHS tape. Thank you for posting!!! I LOOOOOVE IT!!!!
I loved playing this tune in the car. Since these guys werent mainstream my friends would go "Is this that Elton John tune?" Followed by: "This version is much better!"
"No Place For Disgrace" by F&J Absolutely Ruled!! I was beyond pissed back in the day when THIS song was picked as the single and video. You can just sense that was a friggin A&R rep's douche move, Because the rest of the album was killer! Not that this was that bad, but their own material, especially this album, was SO much better!
Jason was only on the first record (Doomsday...), but a few of the songs from this (2nd) record give him songwriting credit., including one of the best tunes from the early repertoire, "I Live, You Die."
when my dad was 17 back when he lived in pheonex, my dad used to hang with the singer of this band, and he used to go to their house partys, he also chilled with jason back when he was in flatsom
Rarely has a standard rock song more strongly begged for a heavy metal cover to unleash its full potential for speed and power than this one, and F+J nailed it perfectly. It's hard to listen to the original anymore after experiencing this version.
nah, I listened to the cover many years ago and to the original version many years later, the original rocks so much more and I'm not by any chance an Elton John fan, I can't came even 3 of his songs. I think the guitar riffing on the cover is horrible, robs the song of all it's vitality
@@brigade911 I think It domes down to the production to be honest, this album is full of that thin mid-late 80s thrash tone. They re-recorded the album and redid this song on there too and that version sounds much better production and instrumentation wise.
Great underrated band. But it can be answered in two ways. 1.This band never made a master of puppets and the fact that Jason left these guys to join metallica, there will always be the comparison. And I love this band and don't wanna insult them, but they never topped no place for disgrace. Two as time went on thrash was not the most extreme thing anymore, and had no place anywhere. If you wanted to be loud and hard you played death or black metal, if you wanted to be softer you played grunge. Thrash was harder then grunge, but softer then death and black metal
@anton you may want to check out their most recent 2 albums, a self-titled and End of Chaos. Both are absolutely fantastic, and they can go head to head with their first 2 in my opinion
An old VHS of an MTV episode brought me here. I have the CD single of it too, but my budgie shat all over the cover when i left it lying around and ruined it! :(
As awesome as this is, I'd give the "Best EJ cover" honors to Dream Theater's rendition of "Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding" which is on another level entirely.
Oh my god!! I've heard of this band before but I never thought they were a badass metal band with a name like that😂and I'm into some pretty obscure punk, metal and everything else, shame on me

The song that holds back No Place For Disgrace from a 10/10 in my book
Best version!!!

All they did was add distorted guitar chugs to it.

Sludgiest guitar tone ever 🤘
AWESOME BOMB 80'S!!!
Great band, underrated!
one of the best covers ive ever heard...

old school.
You could almost see the Posey coming out of them here. Thank goodness they didn't make a habit of redoing 70s hits.

They were perfect musicwise
Great underrated band.

Shot themselves in the foot by changing the guitar tone on Quatro. Downhill from there.
@@philipposkasotis8658 you need to go revisit some new releases. The End Of Chaos, Blood in the Water, Even The Cold are all spectacular!!!
Fun rendition 👍🏼
The Erik AK scream - one of the best i metal.
0:29 Woah, that's an Alabama moment right there.
This would be a great theme song for Hockey Night In Canada.
Hell yeah Great

Fine cover of an equally fine Elton John tune.
You never know who your favorite band's gonna like, do you?
Best Elton John cover out there
As awesome as this is, I'd give the "Best EJ cover" honors to Dream Theater's rendition of "Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding" which is on another level entirely.
Eternal clip \\m//
This is how to do a cover of a great song.
Bad ASS song!¡!!

Oh my god!! I've heard of this band before but I never thought they were a badass metal band with a name like that😂and I'm into some pretty obscure punk, metal and everything else, shame on me
They have an extensive library of some great albums. One the if not most under rated metal bands of all time.Should deff check them out.
This cover rules!

grandi Flotz
