This song and album helped get me through my Desert Strom deployment. Listening to them on my walkman in my Abrams tank when we had downtime.
Holy shit man!!! Me also!! Only i wuznt in an Abrams, thanks for your service!!
definitely one of the most underrated metal acts!!! love them still!!!
Adriel’s gaming Vids well nofucking shit . This is underrated metal is what he said. No place for disgrace was the best
most underrated US thrash band of 80s
These guys were well known due to Jason Newstead. Nowhere near the most underrated. How do you people come up with this bs always amazes me. There's way more underrated bands than Flotsam
This was my skateboard music when i was 16...wow, 30 years ago!
the best fuckin flotsam and jetsem song ever
donna mcquinn I think it’s no place for disgrace but this comes second
They are so amazing! Fan since the 80s. That stuff goes right into my exploding head!! Awesome!!!! Flotsam forever!!! 💥💥💥🤘😍🤘
that guitar tone!
It's weird how F&J were the first to do the gnarly guitar tone and the the Swedish death metal scene adopted it. Now F&J stray from it and it's back en vouge again. Boss even re-released the HM-2 pedal from the late 80's.
This song is like 30 years old and applies to current day.
Yup. It's amazing how much 80's and 90's metal still speaks to the ills of society. Listening to "Hook in Mouth" is like listening to Dave talk about cancel culture...Birthed by the bitches of the PMRC.
Quite possibly the coolest rhythm guitar tone....EVER.🤘
Along with that drumming sound.. it's one of my favorite thrash sounds/album ever; a classic of the late eighties/first nineties! Horrorscope maybe could be the second in that kind of list..
I've been listening since 1993. Favorite Metal Band of all time!
"Storm" Still 1 of my top favorite albums of all time
"All you know, and all you feel, is all there is, and all that's real"
such a huge under rated band period.....and to have a name flotsam and jetsam made them that much badder.thank you guys for still kicking ass to this day \m/
O.I. am evil Totally agree. One of the best metal acts of all time. Glad they are still kicking arse
Eric’s definitely one of the best metal vocalists of all time.
When I opened for them back in 2018 in Detroit I talked with him after our set, he sounded like your typical middle aged man who smoked too much. When he hit that stage, he sounded just like the albums man. He blew me and my bandmate away
He was the bands real weakness. Prong and Sacred Reich had the same problem. Cool riffs and songs but zero backbone in the vocals.
Such great vocals.....AK definitely put them over the top.
Haven't heard F&J since my 20's.
Now Approaching 50.
(Damn, that's a long time.)
Thanks for the Memory. 🤘
I'm 39. And in the 80s my aunt Debbie who was a Metalhead would let me listen to so much metal when I was just a little little kid and up until this point pretty much all I listen to but I have never heard these guys this is a hidden gem!!!!!!😁 where are they now?
there have been line up changes but Eric AK still sings for the band. their first 3 albums are sublime. Doomsday for the Deceiver, No Place for Disgrace, October Thorns are just some of the great tracks from these albums. they are also a good band to see live. and they are still producing albums.
@@evilbeetlekustomscreations4965 yw. Jason Newsted is the bassist on the Doomsday for the Deceiver album.
my "starting to metal" song, and album. eric's voice is best, solos in whole album are perfect.
One of my fave F&J songs for sure!
The vocals, man!
yep! kinda "heavy thrash" counter that gutural - death like thrash metal inspired n Hetfiiedls' most aggresive voice from early 80's
So smooth yet heavy. Such a badass track.
I remember this song when i was young ... that was fantastic times, thrash ruled
The promise cast, the hopeful lured
Stabbing by the pointed words
Tortures of the damned you'll find
Guilt preys upon the human mind
All you know and all you feel
Is all there is and all that's real
Innocent told you're a worthless pain
Eventually drives all insane
Bleak optimism gained
A lame excuse to hide the pain
Instinct stifled be ashamed
For what you feel is right and sane
Suffering, told what you feel and need is wrong
When conflicting with the machine
The machine that's run so long
Suffer the masses, contradicting views inside
Suffer the masses, the personality divides
Suffer the masses, what's told and what you know
Suffer the masses, now, now the neuroses grows
Generations handed down
The false smile to hide your frown
Instinct stifled don't be afraid
For what you feel is right and sane
The promise cast, the hopeful lured
Stabbed by the pointed words
Tortures of the stabbed you'll find
As guilt devours your broken mind
....."and they'll pray...."
*At 37 years of age, I just wish that I can someday have the same feeling I had the first time I saw/heard this song....Haven't been in awe of a freshly cut metal tune in quite a while. 10,000 years by High On Fire, maybe....
Once upon a time members of bands headbang all together.
Classic. One of my all time favourite albums/songs 🤘.
one of there best
Guitar- Drums & Death = This band got it right!!! SUFFER THE MASSES
I wish Jason Newsted would join them again, I loved when he joined Voivod for a bit.
Love me some old School Thrash.. Yessir so underrated
Been listening to them since 86
Bought it as soon as I heard it after it’s release & listened over & over “ enough said”.
i am 44 and iam raised with that great music. Flotsam and Jetsam was the school of our era for new performers
I was serving in the Marines when this came out. Listening to it in my Walkman as I trained to wage WAR. Guarding nuclear weapons and invading countries (read the profile pic). did all of this in 1990. It was one hell of a year in my life, while jamming to Flotsom&Jetsom.
Here in 2020 listening to this on YT, because "When the Storm Comes Down" is like the only F&J album not on any music streaming services. Why is that?
Hey man I think it’s sone kind of licensing rights and the fact that the band doesn’t own the rights to the music or something like that. I think the band is working on the issue .
I was 21,a stripper in Dallas TX. Went on tour with these guys. Awesome band... awesome memories. Eric Andrew....I remember u.💙🤟🎵💯💙
My favorite SONG off this album. Kick ass jam. Cool video. Love me some FLOTSAM AND JETSAM
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
this is such a great song & band!
I think we love this song so much because it reminds us of what we are.
Useless bolts in a system...
Unless we want to.
It is a revolutionary song!
This song is awesome.
this guy's voice is great, it's like if elvis was metal.
Flap out Sunso thanks, I've got no pen now, but the autograph arrives by mail alright?
DJ Hughes only king diamond.. kinda sucked. sounded like he Swallowed a 4 year old
Amazing Talent!!! my favorite tune!!! this is a hit and I say so!
Desde Cuba. Siempre me gustaron. Thrash Metal.
Awesome band. Saw them in San Antonio, TX
I was expecting some death metal growls because of that guitar tone
2023 and am still remembering putting this casette tape into my boombox. (Will be 59 in Dec. 2023, I seen a lot of shit change since the days of great sounds like this, makes me so much appreciate what life tuly is and can be, but sadly it is then that I relaize, I can not know what it was to understand back then. Songs like this make you realize we can all get through this crap that's going on, and it tells a storry nothing in today's 'music comes close to telling a story. anyway (Sorry I don't talk much, so when i do i just keep talking,)it was a compilation tape of all the good bands. Flotsam Jetsam - Suffer the Masses, W.A.S.P - Forever Free, Dokken - The Hunter, D.R.I. - Beneath the Wheel, Axe - I think you'll remember tonight, Accept - Princess of the Dawn, just the average (at the timew anyway, a regular compilation tape of Underrated bands and songs. Flotsam and Jetsam and WASP Forever free took 1 and 2 for me. There is no way that this technoliogically altered shrieks that we listen too and we have the right to call this music? The above is what constitutes music. Stay safe and be blessed everyone.
That riff...... awesome
Flotsam fucking kicked ass Tuesday night Albuquerque..keep jamming
Been listening to F&J since "Doomsday" came out.
One of my alltime favorite acts.
I don't know that they would be any better with Jason Newstead.
They haven't missed a beat.
Eric AK has a voice that keeps on going.
Even when they are ”Smoked Out” they are awesome!
People don't like the voice cause unlike many others, this guy actually is a talented singer. Without need to scream
Kiedy 30 lat temu Flotsam zrobilo na mnie pierwsze wrażenie to dzisiaj drugie.
Dobrze się slucha
Awesome song and band. Saw them in 1991 and they were awesome…..
Wychowałem SIEĘ na tej MUZIE!!!!
Whatta riff 🤟🤟🤟🤟🎸🎸🎸☠️☠️
Energetic hard riffs, pump feelings
I remember seeing them at Lamors in BROOKLYN in the 80s got to see them a couple of times the 80s were a great time for metal so many great shows and it did not cost you that much they really were the good old days rock on my young FRIENDS AND STAY SAFE AND STRONG LONG LIVE ROCK

Супер группа!!! Классика трэша!!!
Still have my worn out cassette.. killer song.
I used to request this on KNAC all the time out in Irvine in the late 80s / early 90s.
The best song on the album. This is my favorite album of theirs.
Doesnt get enough looks/listens. Killer tune
Met and hung out with them at a show so many years ago lmao!!! Brings back memories!!
One of my favorite songs they ever played.
Amazing. Their heaviest riff. Classic track. Great band live.
we had a flood i remember it never got to our house but was so close i remember staying home from school freaking out wondering if we had to go to the shelter. i was 15yrs old. this was playing all night in my headphones and walkman while playing my atari 800xl computer. ready to move it at a moments notice. my parents worried sister crying scared. very important album for me.
One of my favorite bands!!!!!!!!!I have this cd in my car stereo right now!
Love this song..been a fan since first album...
LISTEN TO THE WORDS!!! WE ARE NOW THERE!!!
ALSO LISTEN TO "NO MORE FUN IN THIS WORLD".....ALSO TRUE IN PRESENT DAY!!!!
P.S. ARIZONA BANDS RULE!!!;.
FLOTSOM FOREVER!!!!
Classic from the 90´s . Amazing.
I love this kind of thrash metal without screams
Thrash is probably my favourite sub genre of metal but I have to agree. These guys and Anthrax definitely proved you can rock some amazing vocals and still thrash just as if not harder than the rest.
@@9326metal some thrash bands with vocalist that actually can sing :anthrax, Flotsamjetsam, annihilator and death angel.
@@binzarsimorangkir8432 Wait you consider Annhilator good singing with the exceptio of Alice in Hell and Never Neverland the vocals are shit
Still kicks ass!!!
This channel needs more love
Great tune from a bloody great band!
I remember playing Shadow of the beast on my AMIGA while listening to this...
One of my fav riffs of all time
Such a beautiful voice
First Metal show I ever saw San Antonio, Texas 1988-89 The Showcase. Set the stage!
Been a fan since i was first introduced back in '92. This is my fav song.
Love this song. I first heard and seen this video on HeadBangers Ball. Got me loving Flotsam and Jetsam.
One of my favourite metal songs

Such a powerful song! first song i heard by them at 15yrs old
I love these guys!!
Wayy better than I remember!
Cool! - my times...
Ignorar essa banda é o maior erro que uma pessoa pode cometer, sonzera foda!
I had this cassette in my car alot. 18 year old banging
this video should have millions of views,,
No Place For Disgrace, When The Storm Comes Down and Cuatro are all perfect metal albums.
No Place For Disgrace is a should-listened album for most thrash metal fans, and Cuatro could give a pleasant journey of listening.
But When The Storm Comes Down… Only Flotsam fans can find some treasure under the ugly noises.
One of the best songs the metal world has ever produced so far literally fuckin awesome!
These guys were amazing every time I saw them live in the '90s. Going to see them open for Testament tomorrow night! Can't fucking wait!
This was the soundtrack to my summer down Wildwood NJ
their new one "Ugly Noise" is incredible!!!!!!......they are still a top band!!!!
I play this song whenever telling a drummer what I want his snare to sound like.
dude fuck yea Kelly Smith rules!!
